I only played the first one in English. Hopefully the remaster has language options but I doubt it. Probably gonna have to import it again but at least all 3 games are on one disc now.

Thank god they gave you some variety with Haseo. I like Kite's design but it sucked being stuck as a twin blade for 4 games.

Decent action RPG gameplay with a setting that was unique and immersive for its time and a hugely character-driven narrative.

I didn't really care for the changes that they made in G.U. I wasn't a fan of the battles moving you to a small arena. Then the weird easy bullet hell type boss fights.

I never played the original dothack, can I get this one and play without issue?

It's mostly exposition with little action. It sets the stage for the original 4 ps2 games.

Yes. Certain revelations will go over your head if you aren't familiar with the original series/cast but it's still enjoyable.
