sorry to hear you guys paid for a tf2.

>There's a tremendous demand by sales for something and we're making a lot of money
>Let's make more of it then
You'll just keep buying them anyway. Why take action?
Put your fucking wallets away, children.
What are people pissed about?
Can you even buy this thing? Isn't it an Amazon prime exclusive?
Golden lootboxes give you a guaranteed legendary skin
You can only get one and only if you're a Twitch Prime member
Ok? I have one, but if it doesn't give me an event skin what is the point?
Can't you just keep making new Amazon accounts, and new Twitch accounts, and keep getting this loot? Just cancel your free trial.
You can probably only link one account per game.
its assigned to your blizzard account. one box per blizz acc
>he still plays Overwatch
Just a free loot thing that twitch has been pushing, I'm surprised it took this long for OW to get one
I got a code for it and I don't think my battle net account is linked
Wait people here actually buy boxes? You don't realize you're getting played?
They've been fucking with the RNG in the boxes, locking about the only content they consistently fucking add behind them, and doing the most evasive shit they can to get around gambling laws. They also pretended to listen to complaints for five minutes and promptly ignored it all.
And after all that, they then did this shit.
>People had a problem with the amount of Legendaries and their duplicates from Day 1 of the event? Let's not say anything about it and add an item with none of the content people are complaining about that still gets duplicates.
I paid for TF2.
It's not that people don't realize that, they're tired of getting played while Blizzard tries to cram that crap down their throat to get 90% of what they've been spending their dev time on
So if I've already done the amazon prime free trial shit I can't just do the twitch prime free trial shit? They're trying to force me to pay for it instead of the free trail.
Amazon Prime is Twitch Prime.
>People still support lootboxes
You did this to yourselves.
I'm a faggot that buys loot boxes. I just treat them like scratch off cards, if I feel the itch I'll plunk down $10 or $20 during an event. I went full retard during the latest one and I'm not proud of it but either way my rampant whale-ness is not something new, it was a big problem back when I played TF2 too. I'm just glad I'm not doing it to myself in rocket league as well.
This is what I get for doing the free trial just to watch season 2 of The Man in the High Castle.
I've had amazon prime for the past 5 years. Didn't renew last month. And I still don't care ayy
Forums make up 1% of playerbase considering lootboxes makes them millions of dollars.
And it's only available in 5 something countries
How much did you spend and did you get all the skins
>Informed voters only make up 1% of the registered list considering voting patterns let them exploit the fuck out of the populace and make billions of dollars

Why don't people just play with dolls anymore?
Capitalism, ho!
>he hasn't found the glitch to get unlimited free gold boxes
lmfao
>casual game for kids and stupid cunts
>kids and stupid cunts buy le gamble boxes
>company keeps selling because they know the shitty fanbase will put up with it
This is the future of gaming. No more paying for exactly what you want. Now you pay the same price for a random chance at the thing you want. We gamers have our blinders on. Tell me, what is the difference between this and the lottery? It's disgusting and anyone who supports this should feel ashamed.
>gambling laws
I know you're upset but this is irrational levels of mad.
give me a quick rundown on these gold lootboxes
You're guaranteed one legendary skin and no dupes
No, they literally did. Granted, China sucks and they're the only nation relevant for that, but they were forced to sell credits in China due to their gambling regulations.
Basic Epic skin is 250, 750 for events, Legendary is 1000, 3000 for events.
They're selling credits in bundles of 5, 10, etc., with a "Free Gift" of lootboxes with the credits. How sweet of Blizzard!
They way they're dragging their fucking feet on that, dealing with the credit/lootbox system, and every single event belies their intentions. It's funny to me how many people found a real similar controversy over the same fucking thing last year totally justified, but now people are iffy on it when they push the damn envelope again and get caught.
I never thought I'd see the day people defended microtransactions in a paid, full, AAA game.
>no dupes
Literally false, tons of people are pissed because they're getting dupes. Of the HotS skins, too, go figure.
OW is cancer and it tries to get it's players addicted to shitty E-gambling. Shit should be illegal already or they should let you sell those skins back to other players.
>he didnt just get a free amazon prime free trial to get a free legendary
I only got a hanzo skin, but it was literally free
but thats literally what the community wanted. They were mad because they wanted more legendarys so you can sign up for some meme service with some meme email and get a box that drops a guaranteed skin
hahaha ha
>party pep
>pep
Anyone who gets addicted to e-gambling because of cosmetics with no in game effect is as retarded as someone who thinks Overwatch is bad.
>every event belies their intentions
You don't think
Hold on
Are you saying
The company
Is trying
Hold on
TO MAKE MONEY?
Fucking stop the presses!
You know I think those guys over there trying to work out why developers have pre-order bonuses and bundles need your help too, detective.
Anyone who gets addicted to things is retarded, but ti's still a problem, especially when kids play these games.
hmm?
>people getting upset over nothing
Severe autism
it's easter toad, not pepe
Overwatch is shit though. A shallow as fuck version of tf2 with shitty waifu pandering and blizzard's retarded tank/healer/support shit that they can never break out of.
>pissed about lootboxes
Why are people so stupid?
yeah, 9 dollars, as opposed to 40.
kids shouldn't have access to resources with which to gamble. problem solved.
>pre-order bonuses and bundles
Jesus fucking Christ you're a cocksucker
>OH HURR DURR IT'S JUST THEM MAKING A PROFIT
When something's a shitty, annoying fucking exploitative practice, people are going to call it such even if it makes them money. That's practically the definition of exploitation. Everyone hates pre-order bullshit, comparing these doesn't help.
I paid $20, and all I got was a free hat
It's not about making money, it's about doing the shadiest shit possible to keep making that money.
>blizzard is fucking over customers with microtransactions
>they complain non-stop
>all they have to do is not buy it
>in the end they still buy it
This is why microtransactions are so popular. People will never speak with their wallets and will continue to be shit on.
>Kids shouldn't have pocket money because that shady guy Blizz in the street corner keeps trying to sell them crack.
>have 4 golden guns from being in masters the past few seasons
>no matter how many lootboxes people buy they will be stuck with 1 or 2 at the very max because they're in plat or lower
hes pepe to me fampai
that's a really reddit comment of yours. that guy has nothing to do with being mad and you're being intentionally fucking stupid.
hmm...
Wait I don't get it. You don't like cosmetics that are based on a loot box system. But you paid full price for a game that has cosmetics that are based on a loot box system?
>>Hey, people are pissed about the fucking lootboxes
>>Like really pissed, like largest section of our forum pissed?
?????
Aren't these lootbox things only cosmetics? Why do people care so much? Also how is it not considered illegal gambling in states like Connecticut?
>Paid full price when it was easier to get stuff and cheap to buy with ingame currency after normal play
>Doesn't like when after the fact the developer locks 90% of the content they make behind the loot box system and then locks even that to a period of a few weeks
>Invalid complaint or their fault
It's one thing if they complain and spend $50 an event on boxes, but come on. Using F2P tactics that heavy in a full game is scummy.
>>Paid full price when it was easier to get stuff and cheap to buy with ingame currency after normal play
wait, what?
Why is Sup Forums so fucking autistic?
Largest topic on the forums ever, grew fast. Literally exists because they kept deleting all the complaint threads about it and put it there. Has exactly one developer comment as the start of the thread.
Overwatch is the transgender bathroom of video games. Why anyone would spend $40 on this shit is beyond me. Why wouldn't you just play Paladins? It is free.
As in it's one thing when it's $40 for a game and they're all attainable with a little play, and it's different when they're locking it behind time without consistent access to the ingame currency way of getting things. It was worst with the Summer shit, obviously, but still.
fluoride vaccines in the water.
>complain about shit you can get for free
???
oh, I don't play the game, but the way you worded it made me think they raised the prices or grind or something to that effect.
Why do people even play online games still? They are the true cancer of the gaming industry, moreso than preorder gimmicks. Toxic communities, hackers/exploiters always, something always unbalanced, cash grab cosmetic shit or unlockables that takes away focus from the gameplay and targets people's urges for collecting.
Single player games and old school couch co-op are the only two ways to play video games. Online gaming was fun in the late 90s - 2008ish, but has since turned into complete and utter trash.
>Shitty jew practices are okay ever
I honestly think if each crate had gold it woud be better, the gold would still be from silver to 'gold' though in rarity.
Also duplicates of items out of an event should be impossible during an event.
>kids knowing how to put in billing information for online transactions
Good thing golden guns look like shit and nobody wants to use them anyways.
Companies just keep seeing how far they can push things, and fanboys keep defending them for it. I bet the paid mods shit sticks this time too.
Gamers may just be the most cucked consumer demographic on the planet.
>>kids knowing how to put in billing information for online transactions
It's not like it's complicated, the instructions are right there.
Well, they raised the prices of the ingame items. That's really the problem.
To rephrase; it's one thing when you get 1/5th the value of a duplicate item, the items are relatively cheap, and those items are always available to purchase or have drop. It's another when they add so much of it and classify it so highly that you get 1/15th the value of a duplicate item, they are 3x the cost of the normal items, and you have a 3 week window to get them or they're gone, presumably, forever. The only way to generate enough currency or "chance" consistently to get them all is buying into the microtransactions. And as stated in , when they're forced to just sell you the currency to opt out of the RNG, they do it really begrudgingly and passive-aggressively. THAT'S the problem.
Yeah, that'd entirely fix it, actually.
Shit, I'd almost be fine if they did the HotS thing and had epic crates, or the crate quality was decided on drop. The items are already pre-set, allegedly, so I'd rather know it'll be a shit crate rather than a good one and get my hopes up.
>Toxic communities, hackers/exploiters always
And neither of these would be a problem with proper dedicated servers instead of fucking matchmaking.
Can somebody redpill me on what golden lootboxes actually are? Do they have different loot?
please i cant find this information anywhere surprisingly its like trying to read pravada
The game's, what, a year old? You should have every skin that you could possibly want by now simply from level ups and event shit, even if you're F2P.
I'm legit shocked so many people are just going "THEY'RE JUST MAKING PROFIT BRO, IT'S JUST COSMETICS BRO"
The fanboys aren't even enjoying it, their cocksucking forums are pissed. This is the same as the paid mods shit in terms of intention, and it's crazy to see people defending either of these fucking things.
>F2P
>overwatch
My bad, by F2P I meant never buying a crate.
Only for a Twitch/Amazon promotion at the moment, but I'm sure they'll sell them. They're guaranteed to have one Legendary item. That's it. It can even be a duplicate.
As far as I know it's one golden lootbox from having a Twitch/Amazon prime sub, and you get one guaranteed legendary + 3 random items.
>caring about non event legendary
They'll be there for ever to get and you can literally buy them. Who fucking cares.
It isn't F2P, and that's entirely true. Except for the event items they lock away and make cost 3x the rest of the shit so there's no way you can afford to buy it all. Literally no problem otherwise.
>using autism as an insult over a legitimate complaint
check out this comedy god from 2007 Sup Forums
I hope more countries count pay 2 rng shit as gambling. This is unhealthy as fuck.
>"I'm a cuck."
OK. Kill yourself. You're killing gaming.
>the thread didn't end here
My complaint is that once you have each character at roughly 15-20% complete the new items slow to a crawl and getting 4 dupes or gold becomes way too common to make buying anymore seem worth it.
It's not good content, but it's the only content Blizzard will fuckubg drop since apparently making maps or characters is too fucking hard.
This isn't Battle net Real IDs, they're not gonna cave because people whine on their forums.
>skins
who cares. why exactly are people upset?
Let's be real, if someone is dumb enough to buy digital skinboxes, they'll just waste their money on something else just as meaningless and irrelevant. At least real life gambling has the -chance- to get actual money, here it's digital skins that you only see half the time, are untradable, and have absolutely zero value.
