Sup Forums will defend this

Sup Forums will defend this

even nintenbros think it's shit, no one here would defend it

I need this for hunting

its Hori not Nintendo

>implying I would want to talk and listen to literal 12 yo's

>wanting to be yelled at by Japs

>Sup Forums will say voice is a REQUIREMENT for playing online!

LOL

Wanting to talk to people online.

Where do I hook up the vitality sensor?

>Using voice chat
>On console

Why would I defend this at all? Console voice chat in general is fucking retarded.

It's mind boggling how a multi-billion dollar technology company can say "Yes, this is the perfect solution for online voice communication."

>can't even greentext

sigh
just use your normal Smartphone Headset already.

>being able to communicate is retarded

the average switch poster everyone

I'm just going to join the Spla2n discord.

Speak for yourself, False Flagger.

I say that you are all over reacting. After all, Nintendo online stuff is still free until next year and also this setup is still far more portable and less expensive than having to go out and buy one of those big, fat, clunky "Gamer" headsets.

they literally had normal voice chat in their last 2 consoles. This is just mind boggling. How can a company be completely ass backwards on just about everything for 2.5 decades and still be in business, let alone worth how much nintendo is worth

>Partner with Hori to make a "solution" for a problem specifically created beforehand
>Receive shekels
>???
PROFIT!

This is like making a cure for a disease you created

Remember that you're going to have to pay to be given the chance to even use this shit in game online.

It's more like making something that alleviates the symptoms to some extent for a disease you created.

literally blows my mind that nintendo is going to charge people extra to use their garbage online services. I only buy nintendo consoles used and then hack them so nintendo gets none of my money.

Kys shill

"b-but free online f-for a year"
Literally >when Nintendo does it

It's just so fucking awful.

To be totally fair, I do something similar because my PC is in my living room, but I at least have a goddamn wireless headset.

Christ alive Nintendo wants me to be wrapped in cables.

This reason exactly is why I've distanced myself from Nintendo. The amount of bad decisions they make is astounding.
I'm not someone that plays a game for just the graphics, but compared to PS4 and Xbox the Switch looks like garbage. The other competitors set the industry standard, and Nintendo is so far below the industry standard that I have lost hope for them. I love their old games and characters, they're just in bad hands now.

SEEETHING SONYNIGGER

Did we ever manage to get a straight answer out of them about whether or not we'll be able to send game invites to friends without the phone app?

If you can, then I don't give a shit since me and my friends all use discord anyway and I can just ignore this. If you can't, then that's completely fucking retarded and I refuse to pay for online + buy a smartphone just to play with my fucking friends.

t. Fag who uses a burner phone because I'm a cheap fuck

I'm just a disappointed ex-nintendo fan.
I just can't defend their bullshit any longer. This headset is ridiculous this day and age, the whole wii u fiasco, removing all the roms on the internet.
Maybe at one point they were great, but that time has passed.

Trust me, I love my Switch but this shit is beyond retarded.

>t. Fag who uses a burner phone because I'm a cheap fuck
Before I signed on to Verizon like a little bitch I used Net10 and they had smart phones... Might want to look in to that?

No, I mean I just don't want to spend 100+ bucks on a phone I don't want or need, since all I do is talk and occasionally send a text. It's not the service cost I care about, it's tacking on the cost of this fucking phone to the cost of the switch+the online sub.

>distanced myself from Nintendo
bruh they don't give a shit how you position yourself. shit gonna sell like hotcakes anyway

I want this for a different reasons. Playing games while listening to podcasts is enticing for me. Specially for farming shit.

There still aren't many details known about the service. You can run Android apps on PC if that's what you like to use, though.

I don't ever use voice chat in games, and I still think it's still stupid.

>Jewtendo will release a New switch with this built in
just watch it happen

fox and grapes

>You can run Android apps on PC if that's what you like to use, though.

Didn't even think about that. Probably what I'll end up doing. Thanks user.

?
I only talk to friends in vidya.
Why would I ever buy this?

Not even for shitposting at Sup Forums on the go?

Is there any specific reason the Switch ISN'T capable of some form of native VOIP chat? Shitty Tegra handhelds and consoles can do it, why not the Switch?

Nobody knows. The hardware already supports headsets with microphone input as part of the specs. It probably wouldn't be included if there wasn't some plan to use it somewhere down the line, but we haven't heard anything.

>ミックス

This is fake, right?

It's "mix" spelled in katakana, because it's a mix of the voice chat from the phone and game sound from the Switch. Nothing strange about it.

so you can use this for other apps, right? Like when everyone eventually drops this for discord, I'll still have a splitter that functions properly?

Right, all it does is mix an additional audio output with a headset line.

But with their last system, couldn't you just talk right into the controller? This seems like a pretty big step back.

I'm a nintendo fan and i still can't defend it.

>I need this for hunting
no you dont MHW can use a standard headset/mic silly

>nigger
>playing MHW

Yeah, sounds about right.

Yeah, this is a complete fucking mess. How close am I going to have to sit to my TV for this to work? If playing handheld, I'll need the Switch plugged in for charging and my phone plugged in for charging too. What a fucking mess of wires this is going to be. I think I'll pass on the whole voice chat thing, and just use skype or discord for MH.

...

You don't need any additional cables for playing on the TV. You can just plug a headset directly into the phone.

Enjoy your casual CoD MH game.

I still think this is an elaborate ruse so Nintendo can later go back on it and say "we listened".

No, to take it ON THE GO, you know, because it is a PORTABLE system.

I mean, think about it, what would look more ridiculous, you plugging in a gawky "gaming" headset into your cell phone while in public, or going with the other route.

The answer is obvious.

I don't care about Monster Hunter, but watching karma unfold is nice.

Well, you know what, their last system SUCKED.

The gamepad was bulky and stupid and had awful battery life and even if there was a mic on it you best believe that it was low quality (just like the resolution of the Gamepad).

With the Switch you are getting enhanced ports of all the actual good games that the Wii U had PLUS tons of new IPs and exclusives that you can only get on the Switch.

The best part? It is portable.

If you wanna cry about having to bring an extra couple of cables with you to talk to strangers on the internet in the middle of a game, cool, but as for me, well, I will pay that small price if it means I get to experience everything else about the Switch, you know, the 99.9% of it that is good.

An audio splitter?

It's just another thing to save battery on. Really it's only a requirement if you want to wear a mic that requires headphones I'd imagine.

If they didn't make the stupid fucking phone app it'd literally just be headset to switch with no stupid in-betweens

All the actual good games never left it, except for BOTW's multiplat release. Then again the standard of good for you niggers is Splatoon, so whatever.

I have other ways of communicating with game pals

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.

Whoever thought this was a good idea needs to lose their job and maybe their left shoe.

My biggest problem with this is that they don't even include the mixer with the Switch. That's just kinda shitty because it's not somthing you expect most people to have like a phone or a headset/earphones wiith mic.

Will this be the game that will finally unite Sup Forums?

>what is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
>what is BOTW
>what is Pokken Deluxe

Oh, and I can see right through your shallow and pedantic tactics, you deranged Sony Pony, so while I have your attention as you wait for another exclusive to come out (Man, been a while since Bloodborne dropped, huh), I might as well take it upon myself to set you straight (a miracle in its own right, as you are obviously not straight, and are instead indeed quite a gay little faggot).

See, the Switch, like ever Nintendo console, has little third party support, but hand down the BEST exclusives. Now, Mario, Zelda, and all the Pokemon shit is great, yet you did not mention that, instead you went after Splatoon... why is that?

Oh, I get it... you must be jealous because while you play the same rehashed third part games (most likely Call of Duty) on your gaystation 4 (get it cuz ur gay lol) you have to stand back and watch as I not only play Splatoon which is perhaps one of the most innovative games of all time, but will soon be getting my hands on the upcoming sequel which, AGAIN, is exclusive (that thing you will never have again) to the Switch.

So, let us go over the key points one last time for you, as I know this must be a lot for you to take in.

>Nintendo Switch is the most powerful handheld console of all time
>Same price if not cheaper than the competition
>Has the best first party support, and will soon have access to all the good games people missed out on the Wii U
>Has free online (that thing everyone else stopped doing)
>Comes with two controllers out of the box (great for playing with friends, you know, the thing you have none of)
>And plenty more benefits

The one possible down side?
>m-muh wires, an- and audio splitter doe!

No need to be salty because you cannot find a Switch in stores to buy, user.

Generations is and always will be the most casual MH.

>>what is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
>>what is Pokken Deluxe
Mediocre and garbage.

>Now, Mario, Zelda, and all the Pokemon shit is great, yet you did not mention that, instead you went after Splatoon... why is that?
Because all the Marios on the Wii U were crap. Maker could have been good, but instead the community decided to produce more Kaizo garbage. And Splatoon becoming this big meme between you neckbeards is definite proof of how little Wii U owners in this board care about games. I've seen it time and time again. ZombiU is good and a revival of survival horror, you guys! NSMBU is totally different and the best 2D Mario! 3D World is the best 3D platformer of all time! Lost World is a good game! SF0 is great, you just don't know how to play it! Kowashitai! What the fuck, I love Musou now! Meanwhile, the "actual good games" are only mentioned in their respective genres' threads. And only sometimes.

>this amount of butthurt

im an idiot but whats the phone for?

I'm Sup Forums and I won't.

It runs a voice chat application.

So no voic chat in docked mode, I guess?

why cant the switch do that tho, like xbox and ps does?

it's not like the fox and the grapes
it's more like
the rational thinking person and the redundant obtuse piece of shit that some shitty gook company somehow thinks is acceptable

Not powerful enough

Bro we're talking about a game that loses FPS on multiplayer Mario Kart.

Its struggling to do its job as it is.

realistically its probably a means of preventing kids from talking to strangers on the internet.

Kids dont have phones or need to borrow their parents.

Stop being such a drone, drone.
Nintenbro here, no more shilling

>Kids don't have phones
I see kids around age 10 with phones all the god damn time

The Switch either has no mic input or Nintendo can't afford additional RAM for voice chat. So Nintendo's "elegant solution" for voice chat is to use a smartphone app, which will also allow you to message and schedule game sessions. It's dumb because you need a mixer to have both the game's audio and the voice chat's audio in the same output, making a mess of cables to run through. Unless Nintendo makes it so game audio can be sent through bluetooth to the phone or something, this is just going to be clunky and inconvenient.

You can still plug in headphones into a docked switch to get audio, but depending on your setup, you might need a long ass aux cable for that.

>Kids dont have phones
i dont think thats true at all in (current year)

So realistically, no voice chat in docked mode

there are legit embryos in the womb who already have cell phones and ipads
grow up, grandpa, and get with the times

The app inserts adds to the voice chat

If you increase the TV volume enough so you can hear the game through headphones, then yes.

Cmon man be reasonable jesus christ

that doesn't mean it's still not just a little bit more difficult to do, thus disincentivizing the process and decreasing the chances of a pedo-attack liability for their squeeky clean image.
I'm telling you, there's no reason the hardware couldn't do it. It's likely just not worth the effort and this way they can at least say they tried.

The Switch's headphone jack has mic input. 4 GB of RAM, too, so I don't think it's hardware-related.

I'm using voice only with friends, and we are using discord.

That's true, but who knows how much the OS and Splatoon 2 is gonna grab.

My guess is that they simply do not want you (or kids, mostly) voice chatting with strangers due to possible pedos like what happened with Swapnote and many Xbox live cases. The app will allow you to voice chat with friends only.

I don't know why they do this, considering they already have a parental controls app that can remotely shut down a Switch if it's linked. They can just update it to allow/deny voice chat with an in-app switch.

Like I said, unless the app mixes game audio using bluetooth it all seems overly complicated because things like Discord exist.

t. never had a Wii U. The Gamepad was amazing. It was light, it was the perfect size, its touchscreen was amazing, and its only flaw was that it was wireless, meaning input lag.

>mfw PS4 controller has a headphone jack port and it's the best fucking thing ever

No on board MIC.

Is Discord any better with the audio mixing thing?

how dare you speak to me

you are obviously NOT a REAL Nintendo fan if you are just going to stand by and let people take shots at our hardware and software.

>they are just offering constructive criticis-

No, they are hating blindly and are choosing to hit us in our ONE weak spot, all while ignoring all the things that make us great.

If that is not cynical children at their worst, I do not know what is.

Gosh, what happened to this place?

>tfw you can't tell if this is bait or not anymore

>and also this setup is still far more portable and less expensive than having to go out and buy one of those big, fat, clunky "Gamer" headsets.
When the Vita of all things can have voice chat integrated you have massively fucked up.

Neither did the PS3 and Xbox, they still didn't make you plug a phone into your console
