Is there an age when video games stop being interesting? I think I'm too old to get excited by them anymore.

I don't think so.
Though the longer you play the more you become aware of the Sturgeon's law and less impressed with new shiny.
It's generally accepted that you should give up games for good once you hit 25.
Earlier is better, of course, but if you'restill wasting time on games after living for a quarter of a century you probably have some kind of mental illness.
you are just a jaded faggot
Just because you're getting older, doesn't mean that you suddenly stop videogames when you hit a certain age. Previous generations didn't stop reading books and listening to music at a certain age. the single reason why you assume that people stop playing videogames when they grow older, is that all the old people in your life never had videogames when they were younger. They often didn't understand what was so fascinating about videogames, they just didn't get in touch with it, because they were old and most people won't want to try something new when they're older
this is how its been for over 100 years
with posts like these, I can't help but wonder why you're here
>I think I'm too old to get excited by them anymore.
You're being superstitious.
The biggest issue is people can't keep a limited horizon in their imagination. Older age brings about responsibilities and obligations that can tear your attention away from what's right in front of you, so you have to compartmentalize and learn to actually focus (which can take guts). Fear will tear you up too, you'll be constantly looking out for what you fear.
You also get more emotionally wired as you grow, which can lead to just being tense and dead on the inside if you like to block out feeling.
If you lose interest in things as you grow, that's a failure to grow up and stay intact as the pressure ramps up. Do meditation and learn to sit with your feelings no matter what, and then see how games make you feel.
Wtf I'm 11 now.
its been a while since i've seen a "tired gamer" thread so i'll give you a little advice op
kill 'em
kill 'em all
>have food poisoning for over a week
>mfw can't eat sushi and other good shit
If games are no longer interesting to you, it's not because of your age.
It's more likely that you've simply been playing far too much and you need a long break.
Take a year off and do other shit. There'll be a time when you feel like getting back into it.
my father has been playing vidya since the 80s and still does he is 56 now so no
26 and still goin bruh
naw you just have shit taste like most people on Sup Forums and are just now realizing it
I lost interest a long time ago back in 2005, aside from 1 or 2 games i havent been able to get real enjoyment out of most games since then but i did used to find slight enjoyment in comp multiplayer games so i would play a lot of that. After turning 25 last year i havent even found enjoyment in those and the hobby is pretty much dead to me now. I guess im growing up and looking for more mature and interesting media or maybe its that video games have stagnated since the golden age and are nothing but a bunch of cgi over hyped shit fests.
Generally once you start having other actual fun shit to do you drop games because it can't compare to fun you can have in real life.
I played video games 24/7 up until I was around 16 or 17 when I started going out heavy with friends doing shit we weren't supposed to. I would still play games when I got home or at the end of the day but it was far less. Once I got into college it was as if games had dropped off entirely and I stopped getting consoles or games. We'd play melee in the dorms whenever we had the chance but for the most part my time was spent out and about drinking or being social. I'll still play the occasional game here or there but nothing really gets me excited.
That being said I think everything upcoming on the switch looks sick and makes me want to get one.
That sucks man. Wendy's fucked me bad a few years ago that goddamn ginger cunt.
>lost interest in video games
>still browses Sup Forums
Once you get a job, get married, have kids, etc you start to worry about the games that intentionally try to waste your time (JRPGs, collectacons, Ubisoft stuff, etc) but still enjoy "the good ones".
>i-it's the games fault
No, your life is shit and your brain is rotting because of it. Or your brain is rotting for some other biological reason. Only other possible reason you find games boring (assuming you're playing games you should be enjoying) is that your social development happened very late which means that the pussy and booze phase (that everyone gets over eventually) which lasts a couple of years came late for you while most people go through that shit in their upper teens.
Had this conversation with my brother yesterday. We concluded that we enjoy games more with less free time.
this you go back to the good ol games and get very picky about new releases
This.
The more you play and age, the higher your standards get. Eventually, you get to the point that only an 11/10 GOTYAY can really impress you.
I bet her family is disappointed in her.
I'm not going to stop playing them. I'm 22 and still think video games are the best thing ever.
is he hacking?
Yeah, but especially shitty when you live so close to a bunch of good restaurants. Fucking Viet, Mediterranean, and Japanese, none of which I am allowed to eat. Food poisoning is the fucking worst.
why is there that young lana rain pic?
>projecting this much
You need to find someone to talk to
>crossed chopsticks
I never understand this
Nah I'm good. At least I'm not a camwhore.
Enjoy it while it lasts, in a few years you'll start wanting to actually live your life and the mere thoughtof spending hours mindlessly pressing buttons will fill you with disgust.
It's called growing up, it happens to everyone who isn't severely autistic.
maybe you just need to take a break or just stop thinking about it so hard.
Why are you posting a pic of my ex girlfriend?
Cause it's cute.
You can't be proud of being a khv and still haven't moved out of your parents house.
Your baity post is really bad and the pic just show how unattractive Lana really is.
Personally, I don't think I will ever outgrow videogames.
I played videogames when I was little for different reasons I play them now.
I used to play them for wow-factor and 'muh graphics' and everything was cool and new and fresh.
Nowadays I am much more in tune with my needs and I try to get some things from videogames.
I mainly scratch my itch for competition; planetside 2 is basically one giant battlefield that never ends but you can still have a sense of progress and accomplishment.
Read a few books instead. Then come back to video games. Books help scratch the itch while letting your dopamine levels drop back down to pre-addiction levels. After a few weeks/months, return to vidya and it will all seem fresh, exciting, rewarding, and enjoyable again. The less porn you watch, the more rewarding vidya becomes as well.
24 for me
>get bored of vidya
>go do other stuff
>come back to vidya when I'm bored with other stuff
It's summer, go outside or something
>Sup Forums copyright claims the webm of her cumming in pink hair
Fag website.
>It's generally accepted that you should give up games for good once you hit 25.
Only two months left of vidya then. Well well I'll still have my anime.
>Living your life means giving up on entertainment.
How about you cut to the chase and kill yourself. You clearly can't enjoy life anymore.
he fell for the New Vegas meme
