Post a more tragic video game character

Post a more tragic video game character.

Protip: You can't.

only thing tragic is that his that shitty ass game

If by tragic you mean what happened to his game and what could have been.
Every once in a while I go back and watch the 2011 trailer with him and his driver.

he's in*

...

Take your pick.

>have parents and entire colony murdered before your eyes
>get taken by bird people to a hostile planet
>they train you in Bird-Fu and inject you with their DNA
>adoptive bird parents decide to vanish and leave you on your own
>have to put up with Space Pirate bullshut at every mission
>forced into eternal conflict with the monster that killed your parents
>dragon monster finds a way to resurrect himself and serves as a reminder of your past
>contract super space aids because the Federation decided the universe would be better off without the usual space aids
>somehow deal with this shit in the most stoic way possible
>have some back street boy tell me how tragic his life was on a Vietnamese toy collecting forum

...

>comfy afterlife with waifu
vs
>eternity crucified to a door
itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

> Noctis
>mother dies at young age
>is attacked and infected with Starscourge
>watches countless people die in Tenebrae
>father, while loving, is distant due to being a king
>despite this, lives on for years in comfort due to being a prince

I'm sorry but while Noctis did have a life full of tragedy, most of the horrifying things that happen to him occur in the final months of his life while someone like Zero/Rose from Drakengard suffered throughout their entire life.

Noctis was infected with Starscourge? Did that happen during the big snake attack during his childhood? Was it the reason he went to Tenebrae when all that shit went down with the Niff invasion?

...

Nier/Kaine and 2B/9S suffering pays off for them tho and they get a straight up happy ending. Taro's just a big ol softy.

Emil is legitimately sad.

His entire existence was meant to be sacrificed at a young age for the greater good. He was a deadman walking from birth. That's pretty tragic desu. Didn't help that fucking Ardyn orchestrated everything in the most dickish way possible.

What I don't get is why, when Ardyn had lots of opportunities to kill him (like at the Titan battle) he chose not to.
Why wait until Insomnia? Did he just want to wait until Noctis had all of his powers?

IIRC ardyn wanted to die, but because of his curse he was immortal, and the only way for him to actually truly die was for noctis to gain the power of the crystal and the kings to kill him in the astral world or whatever that realm is called.

Zero was also not a good person either. She was a literal murderhobo prior to getting a flower to the eye.

...

Oh, so he wanted Noctis to be recognised by the Kings, with the Ring and all the Astrals, so he could finally put him out of his misery?
I guess that changes the context of what he does quite a bit.

Reminds me of the Fal'Cie in FFXIII, too. They all wanted to die, but their "programming" meant that they couldn't kill themselves, so they had to get the main party to do it for them.
Thinking about that, that's probably one of the thematic aspects which stuck with FFXV from when it was still Versus XIII.

He will have a happy ending. His pullout game wasn't strong enough with Rachel.

You have no idea what true suffering is

>Grew up without a mother
>Father gets killed by a faggot magician and a rape horse
>Became enslaved for ten years
>Escaped, only to find the land has gone to shit
>Got roped into marrying either his childhood friend, worst girl, or best girl
>Married best girl (Deborah)
>She has kids right around the time he find out his father was actually a king and that his mother died giving birth
>His wife then gets turned to stone
>He gets turned to stone
>His statue wife gets sold off halfway across the world to a snake cult
>8 years pass and his kids manage to locate him and break the curse
>They had to grow up without parents
>They then had to get the sacred pieces of armor, because only his bloodline can use it
>He isn't even the hero
>His son is

Also Ardyn wanted revenge on the Lucis line for ursurping him, so he basically killed two birds with one stone. The Lucis line died with Noctis, and he got rid of his immortality.

Yeah, I figured that much. Some points of dialogue in the game suggested that he wanted to end the Lucis line by killing the "True King", which I thought was the reason why he waited until Noctis took up the mantle with the Ring, Father's Sword, and all the Astrals. At least, that's how I intepreted it.

Max Payne

I salute you user, no better answer

>die a virgin
>be in a shitty, half finished game
>get fucked over for 10 years
>only a mentally retarded Australian still defends you every day
Noctis lives a never-ending sad existence

Nope I take it back
>Put into coma for nine years
That was Venom/Medic you retard, the real Big Boss was in a come for much shorter, and put the whole "Venom is Big Boss" plan into motion before he woke up

protip:I'd be genuinely interested to see you try

True.

Can't outdo Max Payne in living a shitty life.

True patriot right here

just stopping by to give a (you)

Big Boss woke up only a month or two before Venom did

...

Honestly, teedus here is a pretty great character.

best FF protag by far, though I think noctis does come close.

Big Boss is a faggot. Solid 4 lyf nigga.

...

...

Just did more thorough research, you're right

Robo
>revived after having been left to die
>his brothers immediately try to kill him again
>later offers to stay behind and garden for FOUR HUNDRED YEARS
>revived again
>eliminates his robot GF and the Mother Unit for humanity's sake
>gets a new future where he can be with his robot GF, except nope, FATE deactivated him back in 1020 AD. Thanks, Chrono Cross

Booker is a fucking cuck and everyone knows it

The MC of Theresia: Dear Emile

Are we counting visual novels?

...

>you guys... are the best

No.

Door-kun deserved better. He got fucked so hard that it made P4's ending almost laughable the first time I saw it

Why isn't there a scar vertically crossing Gladio's left eye?

He was also wheelchair bound for a period of his childhood, and ever since he was 5 he was chosen to be a sacrificial lamb, and Regis knew.

Yes him being attacked by the Marilith paralyzed him below his waist and he was infected with the scourge, that's why he was taken to Tenebrae for healing since only the Oracle can heal people of the scourge. If it was just a flesh wound they could have healed that in Insomnia.

Incidentally the maralith was under control of Niflheim, so I wonder if it was Ardyn that sent it to attack Nocits and infect him.

speaking of persona related suffering

Ardyn only wanted to kill Noctis when he was at his absolute peak as the true king, so that he could send the biggest fuck you to the astrals and the crystal, and the only way noctis could kill ardyn was by sacrificing himself.

Gotta admit the dude had it pretty freakin rough though

at least tatsuya's "eternal" punishment is mitigated by a mortal lifespan

FPBP.

This.

>so devoid of actual counter argument all he can do is shitpost like a mindless drone.

...

Hey barry

Is MC even conscious? It seems more like he's comatose

Who fucked this gif up? God dam retards spelling shit out for their retarded friends

Xe's only tragic because xe is so badly written that you can't muster up enough fucks to care about what happens to xim. It's tragic this gender neutral power bottom ever made it into a game.

The faggot couldn't even write the sentence. Get better FPBP standards

He's not even the most tragic in his own game. Ignis was far more tragic

Xe?

Roxas

Ignis wasn't the one sentenced to death at the age of 5. Yes, being blinded sucks but after the timeskip he's managing just fine.

>SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
look it's xvkun

He was tragic because he had to put up with noctis all that time. Also, didn't they all die, including the kingsguard. It seemed implied

This man speaks the truth, also pic related.

Max Payne
There was some character in Touhou too that I remember having a pretty tragic existence altogether but I can't remember which one exactly

It has to be Capt Olimar
>Works in a shitty job
>Gets anally raped by a asteroid
>Crash lands in a Planet filled with poison
>Has 30 days to live and to find his ship parts before suffocation
>Fights off creatures and abominations of ungodly strength
>Returns home to be fucked over by his co-worker
>Company takes his OWNED ship away for liquidation
>Has to venture off again to find treasure with a shitty co-worker
>Never has a chance to meet his family after Pikmin 1
>Never had a day off
>Has to slave away for a fat fuck
>Trying to stop his co-worker from disturbing the environment and Animals
>Co-worker tries to kill him and his manager for god knows
>Continues to be in forced sleep mode for years until 3 brave explorers came to find food
>Has to wake up only to pass out from a Alien creature that is infatuated with him for years

Would be pretty fucked up if they died (OFFSCREEN TO BOOT) and didn't get an in-game tribute like Noctis and Luna did at the end.

Seems apt considering xv's quality

Post a more successful video game villain

Protip: You can't

I've never been more conflicted with a character in my life. I'm not sure whether to pity him or hate him.

he's also more tragic than noctis

Dunno. Noct didn't want to die, Ardyn did. Ardyn won two victories in the end. Noctis not so much.

...

This guy

>fucks around the embodiment of death as well as other god beings
>turns most of his family into robotic superweapons
>kicks the shit out of most people
>mother fucking SCIENCE
>By the end of CF not only does he get away with everything, he also gets his son who had hated him for most of the series into the family business

Ganon wins and destroys hyrule at the start of BotW.

Also Heihachi.

...

he lived for like 3000 years, and his final victory is getting to die. Everyone is gonna hate this dude forever, when he used to be loved by everyone.

What did Noctis do to deserve to suffer? Be born?

He was immortal and instead of using it to do good, he chose to spite everyone.

And it turns out he was behind the event that started all the shit that happened.

I mean yeah he deserved to suffer after he started turning batshit evil, but he didn't deserve the suffering that turned him batshit in the first place.

>Banjo
>Only at 30 on the Suffering scale
That should be higher and you know it.

Banjo is 35

I write that off as poor writing. The astrals are supposed to be benevolent. This is all Ifrit's fault.

Still, should be higher imo

>Sol
>suffering more than Ragna
The guy had a happy ending, got his wife back, and basically is now part of a joyous family. He suffered alot in the past, but comparing that to Ragna who's life was shit handed to him on a platter only to fuck off to the void in order to prevent any further fuckups from the world is just silly.

Why did they all hate Ifrit anyway? Something about being in love with some other astral?

9s is pure and innocent

How the fuck does Fou Lu deserve any suffering? He literally did nothing wrong.
