They're both good games.
I just want to discuss this game on it's own.

>What was your favorite level?
The train and glitz pit
>What was your least favorite level?
The first one, the game is slow to start
>What was your favorite boss?
Smorgh, Doopliss
>What was your least favorite boss?
Didn't really have much but didn't like magnus since it was kinda re-used
>What was your favorite partner?
Vivian and Yoshi
>What was your favorite badge?
Power Plus
>What are some things you dislike about the game?
I don't like the slow start up
>What are some things you'd like in a sequel?
A better start up to the game, the game is fine as it is, maybe a more comfy game like it's prequel was.

>What was your favorite level?
Chapter 3 (Glitz Pit) with Chapter 6 (The Excess Express) barely behind it.
>What was your least favorite level?
Chapter 2 I guess? It has a great setting but the chapter kind of bores me.
>What was your favorite boss?
Rawk Hawk or Doopliss
>What was your least favorite boss?
Magnus Von Grapple 2.0, it's a recolor basically.
>What was your favorite partner?
Goombella & Yoshi
>What was your favorite badge?
Predictably Power Bounce but I have grown a huge liking toward Fire Drive this year
>What are some things you dislike about the game?
The backtracking, although to a way lesser extent than others do. I just wish Chapter 4 wasn't all about it since that chapter would be perfect to me otherwise. It has a great settings, plot with Mario getting his name stolen, Doopliss is a great enemy down to his boss fight music & you team up with the baddy (Vivian). They could've like expanded the well portion of the chapter to make it so backtracking isn't a thing or some shit, it would've given a decently new setting and you'd be exploring new areas that could take advantage of Vivian beyond 1 little cage door you push.
>What are some things you'd like in a sequel?
I don't know, I'm just desperate for a new game with it's gameplay at this point. If Intelligent Systems got the original teams back & it's creative freedom I'd want them to expand upon the gameplay already established to help it grow better but I don't even know what they could do to make it more original, it has the potential though. I do want a art style more reminiscent of Paper Mario 64 though, I really love the sprites in the game along with the watercolor-esque backgrounds. Also I really want to refight Jr. Troopa, that e-mail in TTYD with him in the background was a big dick tease. Too bad we'll never get a true sequel.

Yeah I hated the backtracking too.
There should've been a way like mario and vivivan chase doopliss and it's a cutscene skip to the steeple

I also hate how there's no true sequel

I put so many hours into this game it's not even funny. I played through the full game at least 7 times, learned all the stylish moves, mastered superguarding almost perfectly, did the pit of 100 trials several times over on the same file, etc. I was so autistic that if I wasn't satisfied with my performance in a boss fight I would reset the game and do it over again.

>What was your favorite level?
Glitz Pit, Twilight Town, or the Pit of 100 Trials
>What was your least favorite level?
The Great Boggly Woods
>What was your favorite boss?
Rawk Hawk or Doopliss(to beat up all your party members)
>What was your least favorite boss?
both Magnus Von Grapple fights
>What was your favorite partner?
Obligatorily Vivian, but Goombella is a close second, also Ms.Mowz is an honorable mention
>What was your favorite badge?
Jumpman + Spikeguard/IcePower
>What are some things you dislike about the game?
Pit rewards are lame besides magic sack, wish there was more content like it or some such. I fucking hate koops, he's a lame tardo. Also harcter movement was too slow, the Yoshi helps but it doesnt match the spin from the first game.
>What are some things you'd like in a sequel?
Maybe a Paper Luigi game? Honestly anything like how it was back in these games would be a godsend, the new ones make me want to hurt people.

Bump

Twilight Town, The Express

Magnus Von Grapple (both times)

Goombella

Ice Power/Spike Shield
>What are some things you dislike about the game?
Koops, the Bowser intermissions were boring, some of the areas get really repetitive/lots of backtracking
>What are some things you'd like in a sequel?
More of the same, pretty much

>Favorite Level
Train and the island
>Least favorite
First level, Boggly Woods, and the leadup to the final boss

Dont have one

The one on the train, it was really just kinda meh

Definitely the ghost, a total qt
>Favorite badge
The one that made your jumps combo and do more damage

Entire first part was boring, partners too situational (although IDK what can be done about that), Gimmicks like paper plane were poorly done. Overall though not that much I didnt like

Mostly everything.

What does everyone think of pic related? I think it gets too much hate, and don't think its really worse than TTYD

I enjoyed Super a lot, but I do find it weaker than the others mostly due to the gameplay, also it had a bit too much dialogue at points which kind of slow down the pace of the game. Also I wish bosses didn't go down in seconds, they're such a breeze. Beyond that though I really enjoyed the characters, humor, plot and settings in each chapter, like Fort Francis & Francis himself is so perfect to me in that game. Also that music is so good:
youtube.com/watch?v=IQ7-6rQPzkw

I definitely see where you're coming from with the gameplay, but I think that even though it was weaker, the jump to platforming was not as huge a downgrade as some will tell you. It made up for it with a great story and really memorable moments like Mr L, The black hole eating up the one world, and the ending.

I hate using this word, but the ending to Super was pure kino.

I agree, in my opinion people over exaggerate how awful the platforming is. I do feel they could've expanded upon it though and maybe took more ques from the previous games with customization (via level ups or a form of the badge system) so "battling" wasn't as mindless as it is and it could also make repeated playthroughs more interesting like 64 & TTYD can do. If they ever decided to make another game like Super I'd be interested, there's a lot of room for improvement & things that could be expanded upon.

I wouldn't even be mad if we got another Paper Mario like SPM. Most of the fans would go apeshit, but as long as it's story, characters, art style, music, etc. is still there, I'd be into it.

>What was your favorite level?
pit
>What was your least favorite level?
woods or twilight

Doopliss is the best PM villain
>What was your least favorite boss?

Vivian was the most useful but I like Bobbery
>What was your favorite badge?
the luigi one
>What are some things you dislike about the game?

>What are some things you'd like in a sequel?
Let's see what new direction they take the series. as long as it has the PM level design and writing full of charm it should be enjoyable

Getting a new SPM would be amazing, considering where the franchise and Nintendo themselves are at now. Pic related

My problem with Super paper mario battling is your partner abilities were dogshit until luigi, which is at the very end of the game. This means you're kinda stuck doing the same shit over and over, not to mention the lack of badges. Besides battling, I think the hub world additions like the trading cards and arcade were nice features

Meant to send this

>the franchise and Nintendo themselves
Are you aware this game is developed by Intelligent Systems?

I actually never finished it because I didn't like the 2D platforming, which is weird to say about a Mario game, but I wanted an RPG.

IntSys is a first party Nintendo studio

I know it's developed by Intelligent Systems, but I doubt nintendo would approve of something that's not fire emblem. Look at all the characters it got in smash. Either way, they had their chance with Color Splash, the fan feedback was obvious. They chose to not change anything, so why would they now. I've never played fire emblem though, so I can't say if gone downhill or not

I'm sorry.

Could you repeat that?

???

they've already said the next game will be different. IS also wants to do Advance Wars but are currently figuring out how to implement FE style character interactions in the series or something. and lets not forget STEAM

I think its safe to say STEAM isn't coming back, user

I'm glad to hear they want to change it up, but I have to take that with a lot of salt, considering their track record. We'll just have to see what happens.

Does anyone really want a TTYD remaster? I hear a lot of people asking for it, but I don't really see a reason. Putting it on the Switch VC would be good enough

They did a billion Zelda remasters, why not a TTYD remaster?

IntSys is NOT a first party developer.

>What was your favorite level?
Chapter 5 (pirates are cool and Cortez is bro tier)
>What was your least favorite level?
Chapter 2 was a little boring still great though
>What was your favorite boss?
RAWK HAWK
>What was your least favorite boss?
Atomic Boo (Its not the most memorable(I guess its because its an optional boss)
>What was your favorite partner?
Bobbery
>What was your favorite badge?
Power bounce
>What are some things you dislike about the game?
backtracking I guess
>What are some things you'd like in a sequel?
I just want another classic Paper Mario game

It's not a game I think really needs a remaster.

everyone knows that but it is an example of IS doing other things. they did Pushmo too

they probably aren't going back to the classic style but whatever they end up doing has a chance of being good. also I'd rather have a PM64 remake

64 deserves it a lot more, TTYD is fine as it as is. Knowing nintendo, it would also probably be a sick cashgrab like the mentioned zelda """"remasters""""

>I'm glad to hear they want to change it up, but I have to take that with a lot of salt, considering their track record. We'll just have to see what happens.
Personally I have no hope in them even of they try something new. Of course I want the best to happen but CS didn't improve much on SS especially in the gameplay department and Tanabe has said no original characters will be returning already & he seems content with the reactions people had with the Toads. I guess anything could happen but I already feel like whatever they have planned will crumble to shit, I mean they couldn't even have a variety of action commands in SS/CS when literally every other turn-based Mario game have had something more to it, even SMRPG.

>Does anyone really want a TTYD remaster?
I'd buy in it a heartbeat but I feel it's unnecessary, TTYD has aged relatively well graphically speaking in my opinion and regardless people have been working on a wonderful HD texture pacl. I guess they could try remastering PM64 but that'd be a huge challenge in my eyes, that game's art style is pretty fucking well done with it's sprites and used the N64's limits pretty well.

>Nintendo would approve of something that's not Fire Emblem
You retard, that's not how IntSys exists with Nintendo.

>the fan feedback was obvious
You mean how Sticker Star sold very well and how Colour Splash fixed many issues people had with Sticker Star?

If someones making a fan game of this series what would you like to see?
Because I am

I would like to see fun.

>tfw we get a color splash port and sticker star remastered

Fire emblem is a much larger brand than paper mario, so even if nintendo doesn't interfere it's clear which is the better business venture.

I can't do fun but I can add stickers. Those are fun right?

You're going to make me vomit, Tanabe.

Sticker Sold VERY well, and you overestimate how well FE is doing.

Sticker Star was a bait and switch. The initial trailers showed a proper PM game with a Chain Chomp partner. Then they went on radio silence for the months leading up to release, and then it ended being the trash we know today.

>What was your favorite level?
Glitz or The Moon
>What was your least favorite level?
Woods
>What was your favorite boss?
Rawk Hawk
>What was your least favorite boss?
All the bosses were great, but I remember Cortez being annoying
>What was your favorite partner?
Bobbery
>What was your favorite badge?
L Emblem + W Emblem
>What are some things you dislike about the game?
Just the woods and the Admiral White chase
>What are some things you'd like in a sequel?
Just the same type of gameplay and a story without backtracking.
Bring back Pit of 100 trials of course.

>Sticker Star was a bait and switch
I doubt that was the factor Sticker Star sold far better than 64 or TTYD.

Chinks are eating up Fire Emblem, but I'm sure Sticker star sold well. That said, appeasing fans wouldn't be too hard to do. I'm sure those who bought sticker star wouldn't mind having the new one deviate from the formula

How well did Color Splash sell? I'm sure it must have been bad, the Wii U was a piece of crap

Probably because more people own a 3DS than N64 or Gamecube.
And Sticker Star came out early in the 3DS lifespan while the other two were right at the end of their console's lifespans.

>I'm sure those who bought sticker star wouldn't mind having the new one deviate from the formula
And Colour Splash fixed up many of those issues.

>How well did Color Splash sell?
Like all Wii U games, poorly.

>And Colour Splash fixed up many of those issues.
No, it didn't. In fact CS brought its own issues. You can only arrange cards in a single line, as opposed to SS which has a grid. And you have to paint and flick cards every turn, which isn't in SS.

>Probably because more people own a 3DS
There are plenty of 3DS games that sold poorly, try again.

>Sticker Star came out early in the 3DS lifespan while the other two were right at the end of their console's lifespans
So 64/TTYD had larger install bases to buy it while the 3DS had only a fraction? Definitely a large indicator of how successful Stickerstar was compared to 64/TTYD

>No, it didn't. In fact CS brought its own issues
It did fix many issues and yes it did have it's own issues.

Use original assets.

>It did fix many issues
Like what?
NPCs are still all Toads. Attacks are still consumable items. There are still no partners.
It fixed fucking nothing.

If Sticker star really did come out around launch, the 3ds probably had no games, like most new consoles. A new mario title was sure to sell like hotcakes. It doesn't really mater how much it sold though, sticker star was trash

>The initial trailers showed a proper PM game with a Chain Chomp partner.
I wish we could find that full proper trailer, the half we do have is so low quality and the song that played during it that's out there implies there's a bit more to it. At least we saw the Chain Chomp being used outside of battle.

youtube.com/watch?v=WGiq7g7vkpc

>Then they went on radio silence for the months leading up to release
They technically have some stuff floating out there, the real issue to me though is I never noticed these were supposed to change basically all the gameplay in my eyes and I only ever saw the 2011 trailer beyond the initial one with the Chain Chomp on my 3DS.

Plenty of 3DS launch games sold poorly.

And how many of those were Mario titles?

>favorite level
Ooh, Twilight Town, i just loved the atmosphere, , the feel, the boss, it gives you the best party member (Vivian) and the shadow mario section was neat too
>Least favorite level
Well, i like all the levels to some degree but maybe the first one because the successive levels are just better, not much to say really
>favorite boss
Probably either SMORG or Macho Grubba, maybe Bonetail
>least favorite boss
Horntail, just because there are better versions of that same boss
>favorite partner
Vivian, though Miss Mowz comes close
>Favorite badge

Pretty lucky or that ine that increases damage when you're low health

>things i dislike about the game

Like many of us, after playing the game so many times, it's, as a result, not a very long game, which is a crying shame

>things i'd like in a sequel

With nintendo nowadays, it'll be fucking impossible to even get more of the same, never mind a sequel with things "added" or "improved"

I guess i'd like to see badges a little more balanced and the perfect guard less abusable though, maybe make it so attack items stop being intrinsically useless later

Jesus, moving those goalposts must be tough

Its not moving the goalposts. Obviously a first party game with "Mario" in the title is going to sell much better than Steel Divers or some shit.

>all this shilling for sticker star
For what reason?

Welcome to Sup Forums- Contrarianism

>it's not moving the goalposts
Yes it bloody well it is. You're trying desperately to find every and any excuse you can find.

No, it isn't. You don't know what moving the goalposts means

Yes, it is.

I don't give a shit about Sticker Star, you're just trying to internally justify why it succeeded so well commercially.

And continuously failing to do so.

Its not fucking moving the goalposts. You made some flimsy as fuck argument saying "welp launch 3DS games like Steel Divers failed so ha" and I pointed out how stupid your reasoning was.

>Colour Splash fixed many issues people had with Sticker Star?
Many? That's a stretch, like it did have better locations, Huey was handled better than Kersti and the dialogue was improved but other than that it was pretty on-tier and sometimes worse when it comes to gameplay. But hey, I guess that's just me since I noticed a shitload being amazed by dancing pig for whatever reason.
