I had some good fun with it and enjoyed it. Don't go into it thinking you're going to get a new bualders gate, IWD or PS:T experience, those days are gone.

Personally, I enjoyed the world and lore of the game. A few of the NPCs that join you are well done, and the concept was well executed, it just didn't bring anything new to the table.

Does it have the expansions? If it does, it's alright. But if it doesn't, save your cash. Pirate it if you really want to play it.

It's an overpriced borefest even on sale.

The first part improves itemization. Some also like the content better, personally I think it somehow managed to combine all of the worst aspects of the base game, turning it into a dreadful slog.

But the second part added genuinely good content with some neat encounters and some further improvements to itemization. Unfortunately it can't be played before beating the first expansion. A fucking shame, because it makes me never want to replay it again.

Its pretty good. Sequel seems to improve on most aspects of the first.

I honestly don't get this either. I like the expansions, but it's because I also like the main game. They're just more good content. They don't drastically alter the content in anyway.
