>start watching new streamer >he seems like a pretty cool, funny person >start following his streams >the more you watch, the more he starts showing toxic personality traits >you slowly begin to discover that he's actually a huge cunt >appreciation turns into silent ressentment >you stop watching
Every time.
Samuel Rogers
Yes but this usually only takes like a couple minutes to realize
Nathan King
>the more he starts showing toxic personality traits >toxic Reddit detected.
Jason Reed
Either Britbong, DSP, or literally every sort of popular streamer on Twitch.
Juan Young
DipShitPhil is a popular streamer?
Sebastian James
>watching streamers in the first place
You are subhuman trash
Jace Wilson
>watching people play video games
Literally worse than shitposting, JUST PLAY FUCKING GAMES
Lucas Morgan
>start watching new streamer
This is where you went wrong
Bentley Perez
>find a laid back streamer >doesn't force memes into existence >actually cares about the games he plays >but he made fuck all and went back to his day job
Grayson Campbell
>He doesn't watch Jerma985
There's your problem son.
Connor Ward
I hate the 2010's.
Logan Nguyen
What do you expect from kids these days, they don't know how to talk and hang out with people in real life so they cling to internet personalities.
Nicholas Ortiz
watch me instead, user
Kevin Ross
>start watching new streamer
Already lost me
Ian Watson
>watching other people play video games
sage
Cooper Gutierrez
>watching some middleaged man stream Trails in the Sky for like 4 viewers on Twitch >super chill stream, he obviously knows a lot about the game, really interesting to listen to his stories about when he first played the game, he talks with chat a lot >after a couple of hours he says it's time to switch to Overwatch >he sucks at the game, keeps raging everytime he dies >calls up some friend on Discord and whole stream turns super obnoxious >unfollow and close the stream
Carter Fisher
I don't even play videogames anymore, they have become legitimately boring for me. I search for a streamer when I'm eating or practicing guitar so I have one continuous video to turn my brain off to and don't need to be changing it all the time or paying too much attention. Sorry about that.
Ryder Reed
This happens to me too much.
Justin Ward
>watch someone stream, expecting a fake cheery personality to cling on to >get an actual human being
GEE
Brandon Green
youngfags don't know it's like that irl with almost everyone that's not your family and often time your family too.
Kevin Jones
>watch streamer Strike 1 >like streamer enough to follow his streams Strike 2 >watch streamer enough to learn his negative personality traits Aaand that's strike 3, you are out.
Luis Fisher
>start watching a new streaming >ask myself what the fuck im doing watching a streamer >close the stream and play the game the streamer was playing >have more fun playing the game than watching some nobody talk about the game and cracm autistic jokes
Brandon Gutierrez
>chill twitch streamer >almost no followers >one of his followers invites a discord/skype group to the stream >suddenly his follower count quadruples >but they're all cancerous memespouting shitheads
Anthony Lopez
I started watching streams a while ago for competitive games as watching a good player gets me motivated to play and the streams can be quite educational.
Around the time Friday the 13th came out I started watching streamers who aren't professional players and it's god awful. What really blew my mind is that every streamer thinks they need to have a theme or gimmick, so you have one dude who flashes some power rangers medallion and poses every time he gets a sub or a follow, the dude looks about 30 and it's the cringiest shit.
The worst was some dude roleplaying a space fleet admiral or something and he'd read out his subs and talk about 'their new ship' and welcoming them to 'the fleet'. It's like marketing principles applied by idiots with no understanding of how they work, and for some reason people like this shit.
Brody Peterson
>one dude who flashes some power rangers medallion and poses every time he gets a sub or a follow, the dude looks about 30 and it's the cringiest shit.
LMAO I know who you're talking about.
The worst streamers to me, by far, are the GTA V roleplaying ones. It isn't harmless fun like you would imagine it is, it's legitimately a new Second Life, people living in the game all day with "jobs" and taking it EXTREMELY SERIOUS. And they're all extremely popular.
Ayden Cruz
>He watches streamers
John Baker
man Sup Forums gets really triggered by twitch
Robert Morris
this is what happened with spoony
Leo White
>want to have a chill stream but internet is shit and computer is old as fuck
rip
James Reyes
Replace toxic with annoying and you have dingdong
Henry Barnes
I know right, I mean I don't spend all my time on there, but a couple nights a week I like to kick back and let someone else drive ya know? Some people are just funny and can end up with some great moments you missed when you play it yourself.
Joseph Cox
the only decent streamer is ice poesidon who acts like a chad but clearly has never had sex
Connor Davis
>he saves thumbnails really makes you think
Ethan Watson
I just watch Northernlion because it's basically Kafka comedy. The man has no idea how to play a strategy game. If the game looks good, I usually pick it up anyway.
Julian Edwards
>find a chill stream >streamer gets sub button >starts yelling all the time and tryharding
Cameron Sullivan
>stream games for 4 hours straight >2 viewrers max >1 was my phone
Zachary Diaz
This.
Jonathan Walker
by how much he's being shilled here on Sup Forums I'd think so
Jonathan Sanchez
>toxic fuck off reddit.
Luke Stewart
>watching a streamer >tell him he missed something important >he bans me for backseat gaming
Jordan Martinez
>find new female streamer >she's really hot and very nice >she's not completely terrible at games >donate hundreds of dollars to her over her course of a few weeks >she mentions her boyfriend randomly on stream >immediately charge back all donations
Why are women such whores?
Juan Phillips
i swear every RPG streamer does this
Jayden Sullivan
you do have to have some sort of gimmick to 'make it big' as a streamer, though, or at least be able to sell your personality or have a personality that is extremely popular with The Youthâ„¢. At least if you want to make it your primary source of income.
Ian Nelson
>streamer makes 1mil + a week >20k subs >people still donate to streamer
Noah Jackson
...
Zachary Robinson
gimmick or just good luck
Angel Miller
>be me >stream with gf >laid-back chat interaction >talk about anything >meme strats >no stupid gimmicks >just two autist lesbians, a webcam, vidya, and a good time >0-4 viewers
Grayson Perry
Just watch one of the vinesauce guys
They know how to stream, they're hardened pros who know how to keep it cool.
Joshua Walker
Is streaming the most ridiculously overpayed job?
The amount of effort/talent/skill to money ratio is insane.
Caleb Lee
Why watch people play football. Just go play football bro
Landon Gutierrez
>streamers are good at video games
Isaac Jenkins
Yeah I watched a few minutes of a GTAV RP stream the other day and it's so weird having a streamer narrate everything to the audience in character. I genuinely could not do that I would be far too embarassed.
I have a friend who just got NBN and he's getting into streaming. He's been doing Alien Isolation, just a facecam no sub buttons or anything, chatting to the audience about alien movies during quiet parts, no fake screaming or shit but taking the scary parts seriously. It's actually extremely watchable but not many people stick around for long, maybe he needs to scream memes whenever the alien appears.
Kayden Smith
only if you make it too the top
and he streams 60+ hours a day
physically pretty easy but mentally it can be tough
Aaron Perez
sounds comfy, link?
Christopher Martin
>watching streams You're trash
Julian Edwards
Grats on finding my channel op! Make sure to leave a like and subscribe. If I'm too much of a huge cunt for you, that's too bad!
Juan Allen
Wow 60+ hours a day... I could never manage that
Nathan Green
When irl streams were new there was this guy who wandered around Las Vegas alone and chat kept shit talking him and getting vindicated, like they told him he had a unibrow and then he asked a random guy who was like "yea u do lol"
Thomas Myers
Not really. If you take the top .1% most successful streamers they don't make shit compared to top .1% in pretty much every other fields out there...
That's not even the issue. Everything around the stream takes an awful amount of time and no one see the work in the shadows. Also agency takes a large cut on streamers income and pretty none of the big streamers have the time nor the knowledge to manage business opportunity themselves.
Nathan Bailey
>watch a streamer >he's awesome >donation asks "what do you think about Trump" >he says "I think he gets a bad wrap and the Russia thing is overblown"
Sigh.....unsubscribe.
Oliver Turner
*a week
David Baker
>Watching Dyrus play LoL >He makes a ton of money from playing LoL 8 hours a day >He clearly hates LoL >He joins an LCS team to rekindle his passion for the game >Plays like shit, let's his team down, clearly doesn't care about winning >Watch him slowly rot into a soulless husk who has to spend every day playing a game he hates because he has no other marketable skills
Watching someone die inside has its moments
Austin Torres
What video games were you playing? I bet they were shit.
Carter Ortiz
Because football requires >real people >physical ability >wide open area to play >accounting for weather, other people's plans, etc.
In comparison to play video games you need >a PC or console >a mouse or controller >internet connection
If you don't see the difference you must have actual brain damage
Nathaniel Scott
So does anyone even have a streamer they like? I don't watch Twitch much but I need something to keep me company when I can't sleep
Logan Sullivan
This is what I was gonna say, I wonder how disconnected you start feeling to the "real world." Some guys sleep, wake up and stream basically every hour they're awake.
Alexander Morales
>looking for Crash streams >find someone playing all the Crash games to 100% >slowly but surely starts whining every time they die >start paying attention to them >they're actually garbage Rip
Logan Johnson
Yeah but I'm not telling you
Tyler Collins
>that one guy who keeps buying more equipment to make stream better >still doesnt get any viewers
JUST
Liam Cox
Jerma985
check out his videos on youtube to see what you think of him.
James Martinez
>being turned off by a political opinion I'm sure you hate finding out someone is religious too.
John King
At the end of day most streamers like him are "digital prostitutes". That's how we call them at work (I'm in Marketing).
We just pay agencies, they pay streamers, we get the amount of views/acquisitions we asked for, they get their money.
Those people just stream whatever they're paid to stream whenever they're not doing their "main" game. They don't really have any says.
Robert Smith
>follow a streamer >as they very slowly get more and more attention their "fanbase" starts to form >the "fanbase" starts to annoy you because at twitch if you arent an annoying obnoxious faggot but you ARENT lurking and keeping your mouth shut, you are basically shunned >the "fanbase" starts to basically force the streamer to do stuff
I stopped watching streams/twitch. It's all trash.
Nolan Taylor
>watch streamer Never
Matthew Miller
Too short for my tastes
Hudson Myers
>in a twitchroom >type TriHard ? >with in 5 minutes the entire chat is spamming TriHards
Josiah Rogers
Only one of the bois to make it out alive
Tagg is irrelevant, b4nny is sinking with TF2 and STAR has made himself hated by being a huge cunt and badmouthing TF2 whenever possible.
Ryan Lopez
>he says, having shitposted on vee all day
Nathaniel Richardson
>stream games i enjoy and somewhat enthusiastic about >no one watches because they are old as fuck games
Asher Cook
No one watch because you're a nobody. You could stream whatever is the latest meme game you wouldn't get more viewers either.
You're actually more likely to build an audience by giving something not many people do (like streaming old as fuck games) rather than just streaming what's popular.
Nathaniel Allen
a better comparison would be
>watch NFL football >watch ASL Brood War vs >watch boys and girls club 5th & 6th grader football >watch some faggot play a video game
What's the name of the guy who jacked off live stream in front of millions?!
David Johnson
Short attention span. They don't like your voice. They don't like your personality. They don't like how you look. They don't like how you play.
Take your pick. Because it's at least one of those.
Jose Gonzalez
>be playing game with somebody that I usually play with >guy is acting different >he starts commenting on everything he does in some "funny" way >tells me he is going to do something and will be back in a second >"OKAY GUYS BRB" >I look his name up on twitch >There he is, 1 viewer which is probably him >fatass donation button
Tyler Butler
>start watching streamer >he starts dressing like a woman and taking hormones
Cameron Rodriguez
This. Anyone that does this shit needs to fuck off of this board.
Jaxon Campbell
It depends on the streamer. Some streamers are actually really entertaining (Penguinz0, Vinesauce, Criken2, Soviet Womble etc.) because each of them act completely different from each other, they play the games differently, and they can make a game that's shit golden (in terms of humor.) If the streamers are actually entertaining and interact with their fans, watching them play vidya is fun. But yeah, most streamers are complete garbage. There's only a select few that are actually watchable. The rest just sit there and act retarded or don't even say anything. I'd say it depends on how the streamer actually streams. If they play with other people, how good they entertain, if their charecter is interesting, and weather or not they care about their fans. That all adds up to weather or not a streamer is good. Same with let's players. Most are abysmal, but some are actually good because they're entertaining. Simple as that. Plus, it can also help you deter weather or not you want to buy a game or not.
Bentley White
I still love ClintStevens. Even if he's a dumb money whore who's dating 16 year old fangirls
Carter Wright
Ehh. He gets 500-1000 viewers on average. So he's kinda popular. Not really though. Same with Brit.
Caleb Turner
>>start watching new streamer
Why
Evan Cruz
2011 was one of my best years but yeah they've been pretty (((toxic.)))
Jason Lewis
>youtube person makes short, sweet vidya gameplay videos that are good to watch and flow like a dream >suddenly turns into full time twitch whore >everything is centered around the chat and the donations, nobody cares about what game is on >youtube channel becomes a dump where the streams are fully uploaded I really hope the whole "watch person play video games" bubble bursts.
Adam Butler
>being triggered by truth
Jeremiah Cook
>large streamer >tries to read every donation >never actually ends up saying anythinh himself because its cobstaby donations
or even worse is donations making annoying sounds or doing text to speech. I dont understand why anyone likes this garbage.
Joseph Fisher
Have you not seen the leaked CNN footage, user?
Connor Hall
NO BACKSEET GAMIN REEE! seriously, why don't those people have the capacity to simply ignore the comment?
Alexander Ramirez
>start watching new streamer >he seems like a pretty cool, funny person >start following his streams >"So I'm really sick of Anita Sarkeesian getting harassed. She has so many great points, and the cishetero patriarchy wants to literally kill her." >"DRUUMMPPPPHH! TWOOOO SCOOOOPPPPPS!!!!" >appreciation turns into silent ressentment >you stop watching
James Gray
>start watching new streamer can't get more of a fag than this
Jose Hernandez
source? but yeah I just started watching him and he's good.
