it was clear intentional tampering by higher ups to push an agenda. case in point: the character concept art looks attractive. The models look completely different, not even remotely the same. clearly they went though some total redesigns even after the concept art was already done. this isn't normal and they must have had a very pressing reason to do this.

I'm convinced EA knew it would bomb. The higher ups at EA probably got tired of these people constantly bitching, so they looked back at ME, saw that no one really wanted it anymore, and then smirked and said "OK ladies, here you go. Feel free, go hog wild."

They knew they'd fuck it up, and it gave them the perfect opportunity to essentially dissolve Bioware entirely. And they did fuck up, so when EA came in and took the studio apart there was no outcry from fans about how evil EA was ruining Bioware. EA just let them ruin themselves.

Now they're making a Destiny rip off with jet packs and the freaks have all either been cycled to other teams and separated or fired and out of their way.
