>too casual to play the easiest and most simple rts game ever created by a human being

18+ site

I don't have a problem with other RTS games though

The second one removes the time limit at least.

Is this the Pikmin thread?

I agree I just can't play it man
>mfw I woke up the fog/ghost frog that just instakills your pikmin by walking over them

I enjoyed the first pikmin the most for the timer and having to collect enough parts before you die, though I guess they don't leave you much breathing room do they. I may have a little bit of bias though playing games like majora's mask pretty early

Would you?

Not thicc enough, I'm afraid.

The bad ending to this game is absolutely terrifying

also i love this theme

Would you?

Made this Pikmin, any ideas for its abilities?

Doesn't a mushroom pikmin already exist?

can stun enemies with spores since it has a shroom
Or maybe its a second form sorta looks like a zombie to me this pikmin can die and come back once becoming this black version?

Night time Pikmin, can be used at night only, immune to all hazards

A running theme, especially as the series progresses, is that you have to manage your time, preferably by planning your route and return routes in advance.

If you just fucking go for it the game is still beatable and fun, but it's also substantially more stressful.

There's a time limit for a reason is what I'm saying. Git Gud at Time Management, the rest of your life will thank you.

can absorb small pellets and enemies to make temporary clones. must be returned/exchanged for proper pikmin before end of day.

Now this is better!
Could be thiccer though, but I imagine there's not really many images out there of fat_____ humanized Pikmin.

doesn't pikmin only take place during the day though

Efficiency is fun.

Yeah but if a night mode was added it would be funner, think of it like a hard mode, more enemies, bulborbs walking around instead of sleeping, you get the point

We need a good Pikmin thread

Having a night mode would really defeate the purpose of the games. Plus I doubt any amount of night specific pikmin could fend off all the enemies that roam around at night. Olimar leaves the surface during the night for a reason.

The game is designed so that you can do one ship part a day and still 100% it
And you really only need like 7 or 8 days honestly

I think I did like 11 on my last playthrough and that was absolutely casual as heck.

think of it like this

daytime clock as normal, but instead of instantly killing pikmin at night, difficulty spikes and theres a VERY low chance of survival, but still doable for those who already mastered the game and know how to perfectly manage their army
maybe have special night-only items or pikmin that get buffed at night and nerfed during the day, etc.

if you're over 18 and seriously can't handle pikmin 1's time constraints you are really, really bad at video games.

I still don't see what this would acoplish that the challege mode doesn't already do. It doesn't really have any meaning to it other than "it's harder and dark outside now." Like there doesn't seem to be much incentive to do it. Also, wouldn't having pikmin that are stronger at night kind of defeat the purpose of the night mode too

these night pikmin would obviously have to be balanced by being rare, low health, etc. but my whole night mode theory just an idea to introduce new things to a series

this game is the perfect amount of stressful to make you immersed in the world tho. In reality the 30 day time limit is extremely lenient.

Play on PAL if the timelimit is too strict for you.
The clock is slower for some reason so you get more time per day.

I feel like i'm the only person who prefers pikmin 1 to pikmin 2.

I know that 2 has a better a.i. and stuff. But I think that the level design and challenge is a lot better in pikmin 1. Plus I like having a time limit because otherwise I will just be dicking around most of the time.

Glow in the dark

Who else waited on Day 1 for all the pikmin to turn into flowers before plucking them?

Give poison status affect to enemies it touches.

You're not. That's not even an uncommon opinion. Pikmin is a classic case of the sequel having more stuff but not being as well designed.

I thought pikmin were supposed to be asexual. You know... because they are plants.

theres too much time in Pikmin 1 anyway, you'll finish with more than a week to go if you're not dumb

plants can be both asexual and sexual

I worried more about the lives of my pikmin more than the time limit. I got emotionally invested in them and didn't want them to die. I don't recall having to retry a level, but I wasn't worried to do so if I had to.

wut

how is the level design better? most of pikmin 1's level design boiled down to either building bridges and destroying gates or fighting the same 10 enemies. the only level that had any sort of complexity to it was the forest navel. pikmin 1 has far too little content for it to be considered better than either 2 or 3.

The fact that it has level design at all is what's better about it. The dungeons were a stupid gimick and you know it.

So you're saying we should see it fucking itself?

>glowcap pikmin
interesting concept

maybe they could be used to find secret passageways or items that even white pikmin couldn't find
think the chibi-doors from chibi robo gcn

i wonder if pikmin games could be structured to the point of a slow-paced casual metroidvania
like missions could go on through the night in areas that are less densely packed with wildlife
but collectibles would be visibly out of reach unless equipped with the right upgrade or pikmin type
naturally upgrades would have to be brought back to spawn in order to be collected officially and onions would need to be activated in order for pikmin types to be added as options

naturally the game would encourage multitasking for the sake of expedience as well as keeping your troop count high, and it would also encourage building your army so more things can be done with it

tldr: a pikmin game without any time limits, and regenerating resources

I actually am in the same boat. 2's dungeons promoted some kinda slow gameplay since there was no time limit whatsoever in them, and didn't have as much fun stuff to do with the scale of the Pikmin.

Pikmin 3 is my favorite though, multitasking was so fucking perfect in it. Risking splitting up to work three times as fast and bouncing between controlling people with almost no downtime just traveling was amazing.
