I played League for 3 years and listened to some Undertale music but that's about it.

The extent to which I defend it is usually just "it's a piece of entertainment that some people like so its existence has some merit", but that applies to most games and it's a concept that nobody here has ever seemed to understand for the 10+ years I've been posting it

The first two episodes are weird (they focus a lot more on the school drama than the actual plot), but it really picks up by the halfway point and turns into something special.
I'm super concerned about the prequel, though, the team there doesn't seem to have the artistic vision that drove Dontnod when working on LiS. The shots aren't framed in interesting ways, the writing is garbage, the voice acting is terrible. The worst part is that, if Before the Storm sucks, the LiS brand will be worse in the eyes of the public.

I've played all of those at least once. Only decent one is LiS.

I really should pay attention to the Life is Strange credits, because I want to see who is still working on LiS2 from the LiS team.
There were absolutely beautiful sequences in the first game, the overarching plot was excellent, the music choice was spot-on, and the main cast was well-written.
That being said, what in the everliving fuck were they thinking when they included the meme graffiti and side characters spitting out dialogue that would fit comfortably in the worst films ever made? Was that the same team five beers in on a crunch week or was it just a shitty B-team that the environmental filler was farmed out to?

I remember the Undertale demo, about how inspecting the mirror would change the text, and how it blew everyone's minds with Flowey knowing you reset the game or not, and how everyone wanted to fuck goatmom. I remember all the conspiracy theories about the first 5N@F and how nobody knew if all the secrets had been discovered or not, how to beat Freddy, and how everyone wanted to fuck Chica. They were comfy latenight threads, and now Sup Forums hates them just because they got popular.

There's more gameplay than most of its competitors (there are a few actually interesting puzzles, and episode four has a fairly lengthy investigation segment that is more compelling than any other investigation segment I've seen in a game), but yeah, it's mostly an interactive movie.
I had fun with it, others won't, and that's A-OK.
I wonder if/when a good term will be developed to describe interactive entertainment that isn't "game." Something like Life is Strange isn't really a game in that there isn't a competition and there isn't a fail state, but it certainly has value in the same way that a TV show could have value.
I sure am talking a lot to somebody who almost certainly doesn't care.
