Those that are playing this for the first time, without experience with the PS1 games or very minimal experience with them, how are you feeling about this game? I'm curious.

Do you guys want Vicarious Visions to make new Crash games? I think they did a pretty good job on this game, but then they are just remaking already created games, they might not do as well making stuff from scratch.

I grew up with this series, nice to see it getting some attention again.

The bosses are too easy.

Well, to be frank, many of their old Crash titles were just rehashes but they had a sense of style. Did a good job of translating the Crash formula to the GBA, and Nitro Kart was passable though I wish they had more time to refine the controls.

I've never played crash before, should I buy this? Coco's kinda cute.

I want CTR and Crash Bash made by Vicarious Visions first, maybe as dlc then a new game would be great.

I was stuck on high road for at least 2 hours. At this point I stopped giving a fuck about the gems and just fought to beat the game.

I'd rather they do this than remake spyro honestly. But CTR first

This game is too hard to be enjoyable. Beating your head against the same thing, over and over again, just isn’t fun. There is a frustration factor that can come into play.

Besides, what’s with difficulty elitism anyways? You want to get your rocks off on ‘how hard the games you play are’, I mean, that’s great for you, but no one’s gonna look at you like you’re an Adonis just because you play hard games.

It always felt unresponsive. You had to use the slide to get anywhere.

I imagine most people who are going in without nostalgia would find it very boring.

Just know the relic time trials are quite challenging but not frustratingly hard for the most part and fun.

crash 1 was always the game i played every once and a while that put me in my place and makes me realize i am still a faggy casual.

well, sort of. you get the speed shoes powerup when you beat cortex, but that's the only one you get.

Did they patch neutral slidespin and the high jump glitch in crash 2?

I'm having fun. The games are pretty simple but they have a charm to them. Crash 1 being kinda hard was a breath of fresh air to me,considering the fact that most 3D platformers I find easy. Looking forward to what 2 and 3 play like.

Enjoying it but fuck the soap edges and non-displaying shadows when you're at a certain height. I'm trying to 100% Crash 1 before moving on to the other games, though I'm starting to think that might not be such a good idea.

Took me almost 2hrs to get the gold relic. Not even gonna attempt platinum

Sonic fan myself, and new to Crash. They both scratch that itch of 'do better, find secrets' really well with just the right pinch of difficulty. Donkey Kong Country fits in that niche too.

I'm making my way through crash 1 and I'm really enjoying it so far, but they need to release a patch to tweak the jumping/turtle bounce mechanics. The high road is brutal and even when you finally manage to jump across the gaps you barely make it. I wasted over 30 lives and it's the hardest level in the game when it shouldn't be

To be fair the 2nd and 3rd game is much more fun than the first.

The running stages with the boar / polar bear / tiger were always my favorite

Actually Crash does feel similar to Donkey Kong country than Sonic. But you are right it does bring that no nonsense oldschool fun.

They added Crash 3's running shoes in Crash 2 after you beat Cortex. Nothing else though.

Do not feel bad Crash 1 was really not made that well but Crash 2 and 3 feel much greater in retrospect.

First time playing it and I love the platforming but HATE the escape levels like in the OP picture. Who thought that was a good idea? You cant see shit with that camera being on your front like that. Levels become trial and error of the worst kind.

first time playing crash, on native fortress, i can't get past this one part where you have to jump across 3 of the flaming pot things, i don't get what to do here.
