Played the Tekken 7 story mode yesterday with a friend. The final boss fight (in the main story) was the most retarded shit. It might be easy if you are good at Tekken and can juggle people like crazy but it's artificial difficulty drove us crazy. It was the second worse thing in the game... first being the voice "acting" of the journalist. That guy should NEVER EVER get a VO job again.

I know right! I almost fell asleep every time he spoke. I mean, monotone can be fine. It sorta gives a noir vibe (like max payne) but you still need to show emotion. He had NONE. Even when he was supposed to have emotion and scream/be excited he sounded so fake and bad. Also the script didn't lend itself to that kind of delivery.

The worst bits is when he was thinking about avenging his wife and son by killing Jin in his sleep. You'd think that'd be something anyone could act.

He still is that. He's not a "good guy". All tekken protags are giant assholes.

Yeah, we finally beat it (just barely). The thing that got us was that he spammed attacks over and over when he was invincible. All we could do was back up and hope that he wouldn't land a hit. That in turn got him his health back. It also took us several tries to realize that ALL you could do was defend yourself cos if you don't, he uses the final punch and one shots you. The randomness of the boss fight was infuriating. It's stupid to have a boss in a fighting game that you aren't really allowed to fight. It's supposed to be an epic battle to the death but here I am backing up like a wimp hoping he doesn't pummel me to the ground with his cheap power-ups.

Sorry for the rant but I needed to vent.

Kazuya was i the right, he wouldn't of became an asshole if his dad never threw him off a cliff and maybe explained some shit instead of being a fucking idiot

Because the hubris of man will eventually lead to enough onslaught to awaken Azazel at a time when they are defenseless and without people who possess enough power to defeat it.

It was a dumb plotline, but it was meant to demonstrate that Jin is an asshole but not 100% asshole.

former tournament player here. played about 1,000 matches in korea last year and have put about 100 hours into t7 since it came out.

There is a difference being kicked the shit out of and being spammed with cheap attacks and power-ups. if he was genuinely hard I would have no problem. But he isn't hard, at all. Take away his re-generating HP, his invincibility and his cheap spam tactics and he's no harder than any other character. They could've just made him strong with lost of health instead.

I never switch down the difficulty in any game. Normal is as low as I ever go. I've been playing games for so long, I should be able to get through normal mode. Normal mode in Tekken should be for people who have somewhat good skill with fighting games but that last boss didn't test my skill in fighting as you aren't allowed to fight him with all you got.

poke with df+1 all day (sometimes finish with df+1,2 if you think they'll duck or press button). db+3 and db+3+4 are great lows. poke with b+2,2 all day. never finish this string though.

his uf+1+2 into the mixup extensions are super good, and especially deadly at wall. just do uf+1+2 into nothing to annoy and bait. also punish whiffs from long range with this move.

after floor break do while standing 1+2 for huge float and carry into his high damage wall combo.

use his hell sweep sparingly. he doesnt need it.

it will be years before we see a tekken 8, so it would be a good opportunity to kind of pass the torch symbolically.

Kazuya is so goddamned hard to win with. He has no reliable launchers that aren't easily blocked and most of his BnBs require EWGF, which isn't beginner friendly at all.

Heihachi is too popular to never appear again. He might stay dead storyline wise, but they'll definitely shoehorn him in as a playable character by having him appear in flashbacks or just going full Nightmare Geese.

it doesnt really matter because 2d and 3d games arent comparable. you can always break grabs in tekken, so the idea of playing a hulking, slow monster constantly walking towards someone while taking damage, just trying to get that sweet 360 grab isnt a thing in tekken. also, all characters have the same health in tekken.

also, all characters are viable, and there aren't really "match ups" to learn like in 2d games. sure, there are things like some characters (kazuya, josie) having 13frame launchers as punishes while most characters dont, but its not like learning a match up in a 2d game.

just pick whoever you think looks/plays cool. most important thing is to keep at it; keep learning. just because you know some nice juggles, you're still gonna get stomped by seasoned tekken players. it takes a long time to get really good. just keep playing and have fun.

king is the throwmaster, literally a grappling based wrestler but he has a bunch of gimmicky command grabs
dragunov is a heavy hitter and pretty throw heavy

throws aren't that good in T7, they're very easy to break

a lot of new players dont know this, but as soon as you see eddy go into relaxed stance, or handstand stance, you can juggle him for free.

just use a mid or low that "scoops up" or tailspins, and do your normal juggle. lots of eddy players get high ranked because people dont know how to deal with him. hes seriously not a great character.
