Why not just look at the positives? Some of the playable characters look like they could be stars of their own games. Stealth Elf? GillGrunt? And this roller skating vampire.
I like the concept but it's attached to a middling platformer. Like, if the figures fit into a tactics or card game I would have ate that shit up.

Don't have a favorite one, my top five are Pop Fizz, Chop-Chop, Zoo Lou, Pop Thorn and Warnado. Fav game is Swap Force, haven't played Trap Team and Imaginators.

Mostly for characters I didn't like that much and just bought because of availability(its a pain to get them to my country/in general)

My 7 year old loves this series, so I've played basically all of them as a result. The kart racer was pretty awful, but aside from that it's a decent babby's first platformer that I had fun co-oping with a child.
My favorite Skylander is the shark bro with the big spiky fists, his moves remind me of Streets of Rage.
Dad user here, Imaginators is good OP, you should give it a shot. The customization is surprisingly great and don't let the apparent freemium model fool you, it's literally just for impatient children and you can unlock everything through normal play.
I personally wouldn't play this series if it wasn't for my kid, but if you enjoy them as-is, you should give it a shot.

Giants: Feel like a addon for the first game
Swap Force: Good replayvalue and annoying NPCs
Trap Team: Best boss fights. Shit Traps and Villain quests. No PVP anymore after this game. Least replayvalue.
SuperChargers: 35% Racing 35% Vehicle combat 30% Land fights. To much separetad and different game types in one game annonying sometimes.
Imaginators: Best one I suggest to start here this one has a lot of replayability, you can custom a character, random quests in the end and open world.

Terrafin is great and one of the strongest landers in every game.
Yeah I think I'll get it eventually, been short on cash this year and had other priorities. Created a lot of chars on the app though.

That's not what OP is saying at all. OP clearly recognizes the flaws of the game. They're just saying to look at the positives of Skylanders, such as the character designs, instead of being obnoxiously cynical about it. God forbid people try to find things they can enjoy in a videogame without others giving them shit for it.
The Nintendo ports were so good, both DK and Bowser had a very iconic kit and blended really well with the rest of the characters. this is my favorite toy vehicle by far, in-game it is a bit dissapointing.

Wouldn't have played them if it weren't for my kid. Playing co-op with them was a blast though.

I'm just pissed that they used spyro as a jumping board to get them into the market when they could've let the dragon rest in peace with his classic and legend games.
But no, they took him because they thought the game wouldn't get the numbers without him, they redesigned him which didn't bother me that much but when they got the sales, tossed him aside like trash.
I'm not mad that they changed him. I'm just mad that they used him to get more sales when they would've done fine without him.
