They end up making a lot more money by having DRM which gets a lot of people to buy their games instead of pirating them out of impatience problems that are common among consumers in the video game industry. Optimization issues aren't really an issue because people will spend the money PRIOR to experiencing performance issues and most are too lazy to ask for a refund because of it, so the sale is made.

While Dishonored 2/Wildlands/Andromeda/Ghost Warrior 3/For Honor/ still runs like shit.
It's all matter of optimization, denuvo would only lower your fps by maybe 1-2 at best.
