What went wrong
"muh Ape Escape"
Not much really, 30fps seems like a mistake in a platformer and one of the main reasons people complain that it feels different from the original (which ran at 60 of course)
But otherwise, not much really. Good remake. Great price too.
shut the fuck up fag.
>remastering a shit game.
the games were shit to begin with
pill hitbox
It was never a good game to begin with.
Seriously this shit is 30fps? WHY
Because the marketing shills wanted it to run at 4k.
Nothing it can't be patched, it may even motivate more studios to revive platformers since this games is selling well.
Was this really made in unity?
Kek, the original was 30 as well, and with no motion blur.
The load times and a lack of restart option outside of timw trials in crash 1. Well at least it's only coloured gems you have to do in 1 go now I guess
Do you think only Unity supports PBR materials and pill hitboxes?
can't wait till its on PC so I can pirate it and play it at glorious 4k at 144 fps with motion blur and all other post processing effects disabled
Nothing
Devs didn't fully commit to cinematic 20 FPS.
Remaking rather than remastering and failing at doing it. Physics engine feels wrong in comparison. Managed to introduce new bugs. I'd rather be playing the originals
They use the jumping physics from 3 in 2 and 1, this makes a few jumps awkward and a certain two levels in 1 very difficult.
Most of the music is worse and they didn't use the original composer despite them offering their help to them. Absolute dick move.
Pill hitbox, originals didn't do that.
There's quite a few bugs that involve clipping through the edges of holes and "riding" polar when he isn't there in the warp room. Albeit you have to go right out of your way to find these.
30fps (the original was 30fps too though)
The water looks like shit.
Coco is missing death animations.
The fur shader looks bad up close, as though it was a "second skin" almost.
It's mostly trivial bullshit they did a good job just not a perfect job.
>30 FPS
>Soundtrack is mostly worse
>Some stages look really dull and unfocused visually (Toad Village and the Tiger stages)
>Jump time decreased
>Falling off of platforms
>30 fps in 2017
>trivial bullshit
Too hard for today's modern audience
Nothing, literal GOTY, which is sad to be honest
what's going on in this video?
The fact that these games are harder than the originals goes against what you said in more ways than not.
it's sad that this garbage is your goty desu...
Who hurt you?
Crash truly is the best horror game to come out in recent years.
Also the jump animation is different and the hit box is pill shaped now which means you are more likely to slide off edges.
who do you think lad
>t feels different from the original (which ran at 60 of course)
This guy is full of shit
Nothing. PS4 finally has more than 1 game worth playing.
Unity lol
>the original (which ran at 60 of course)
It ran at 30, lad. The only Crash games that ran at 60 were the shitty ones for the gamecube.
>what went wrong?
coco doesn't do his new butt slam on my dick
motion blur and pill hitbox
>harder than the originals
Spotted the underage fag talking out of his ass. Aside from a few wonky hitboxs, Crash 1 was made almost 30% easier with the new save function alone
t. never played it
>coco
>his
oh shit, it's because I'm phoneposting
I'm glad I can't even play this thing, I thought time trials were a mistake in Warped, having to get through them in two other games sounds like absolutely zero fun.
Motion blur looks like shit, tho.
...
Sup Forums is blocked at work, i can't use my PC, no bully pls.
Why do Nintent.oddlers hate this game so much?
No, the nintenbros are the ones that usually go "The games were always bad" when they were actually a technological marvel back in the day, people can nitpick though
The fact is that Crash's gameplay, specially 2 and 3, aged like wine
>a certain two levels in 1 very difficult
Which ones?
Kill yourself. Crash now has weight to him. In the original as long as a pixel of his feet were on the platform you would remain standing. Now if half of his body is off the platform you'll be dragged into the pitfall. This means, despite them using the original geometry, every pitfall in the game is bigger because the player has to avoid the edges or else Crash's weight will drag him into the pitfall.
Not only that the turtles do not bounce you as high as before, let alone their horrendous hitboxes, which once again, it caused by the fact Crash now has weight. It's not so much the hitbox, it's the fact if half of Crash's body is not completely on the belly of the turtle you'll slide off because of his weight dragging you down. In the original, the rule was as long as a pixel of Crash is touching the turtle, you'll bounce up, because that's how the physics work.
You can save whenever you want and the box counter does not reset for clear gems on death, but the game is infinitely harder than the original because of the new physics.
t. someone who can 100% the original in a breeze and has done so many times
You pathetic faggots keep complaining about how they casualized Crash 1 in this remake by allowing you to save anywhere and stopped the box counter from resetting on death, but this game is harder than the original game ever could've hoped of being. The first game is for casual faggots because the physics were made easy so babies could clear the game. In the remake the physics have been altered so it takes more skill. No user, the original game is the casual game.
I don't know why people deny this. I'm a god at Crash 1 and the remake is a fuckton harder for all the wrong reasons.
"technological marvel" as in they look pretty good for playstation games
hardly marvelous in any other sense
It would have ran a silky-smooth 20fps if it was in Unity.
That said, the load times are garbage.
the bridge levels used to rely on being able to position yourself and then get over gaps from standing still, now you absolutely need to preserve momentum. All the others people complain about is them being shit and/or a retard.
Remake of CTR fucking when?
dark souls memes, for starters.
>mandatory intro animation you can't skip
>game has the gall to have to load the main menu after it instead of just using the animation to mask load time
what a stoner
>lack of restart option
That was never in any Crash game aside from time trials. What are you talking about?
Not that user, but being able to restart from the beginning of the stage. It's only an issue in this remaster because the load times are shit compared to the original, and why they bother implementing a restart option in the time trial but not normal run as a QoL for box-collecting is beyond me.
Nah they were pretty based and people asked a lot for them to be remade, that's why Activision did it
>quitting the level and going back in to restart is now annoying due to the load times.
I guess that makes sense.
Stupid fucking underwater and race levels in crash 3
1-up boxes in bonus levels change to question mark boxes after you die and try it again. This is a huge oversight to go along with the other things already mentioned in this thread (Pill hitbox is probably the biggest fuck up).
It feels like the people who made this remake didn't play too much of the OG trilogy at all, but still a great remake if you can overlook the bullshit. I didn't expect much from Vicarious Visions as they don't have a great track record at all but was pleasantly surprised at most of the game. It seems like most of the biggest fuck ups could be patched out if they really cared about the fans and not just the money. But we all know it's all about dat skrilla.
Another thing is just how cringey they made the N. Brio cutscenes in 2. Pretty much unwatchable.
Overall pleased with it though.
The physics are a bit wonky compared to the original games so you had to get use to it. Also a bunch of the levels in Crash 1 had their tense/dreary/spooky atmosphere completely removed and made worse (Generator Room/Slippery Climb.)
Longer than usual load times, that's it.
I like some of the changes they made and the some others didn't bother me.
Did Crash 1 always force a forward-flip on a forward jump after you try to adjust it midjump?
can you turn motion blur off?
It's a 20 yo game that runs at 30fps.
No but it wasn't that bad. I usually get nauseous from motion blur but I barely noticed it in the trilogy.
Nope. I haven't found it offensive thus far unlike other games though.
the controls are solid, eat shit

I mean I think it's just how when looking at Mario 64 Crash can't compare. I think Crash is a great game but Mario 64 is one of the greatest games of all time and I don't think people should compare the two, even Naughty Dog were just like "Holy fuck." when Mario 64 was released.
Fire pillars on some of the stages ought to animate at twice the height. The hitbox is deceiving.
not enough coco feet
>sprinting in Crash 2
hu?
>i want to _____ coco
Whoa!
fuck until she leaks cum fro her mouth
In my honest opinion the only thing M64 has over Crash are the mechanics of the characters and the open levels, Crash is superior in level design, animations, aesthetic and challenge.
However I can't really compare the two as they belong to two totally different genres. I would feel comfier comparing Mario 64 to Spyro, Banjo or Donkey Kong 64
they also added time trials
Marry
made me realize how shit crash actually is.
my room mate was hyped as fuck for it, got it on day 1. played it for 2 hours and hasn't talked about it since.
Not sure if its because i've been spoiled by 60fps lately, but this game gives me motion sickness
I know, but I didn't know they added the sprint boots, how do you unlock them?
it's not a gecko.
beat the game
they added it to C2, not 1 afaik
It is though. This game will be a hit regardless and people are saying they like it. Nobody but people who aren't actually playing it are complaining. Imagine that! People who are playing the game at 0fps are conplaining about 30fps!
I don't like all the aesthetic choices and some of the music is pretty neutered. Animations seem more stiff. Like here I prefer the original, colors are better, sounds are better and Tropy moves in a more cartoony way
crash is pretty much a ripoff of DK country. i mean just fucking look at this pic.
Is that a bad thing? DKC was the best platformer in SNES with Super Castlevania 4 and Megaman X
the crash bandicoot games weren't particularly good to begin with.
2 was okay but the overwhelming praise it receives is retarded. Same with Jak and Daxter.

>When they mentioned something that was changed in the remake, they just effect over it.
Why didn't they just change the line?
David Wise > Josh Mancell
Nah, it's pretty much the best platformer ever made.
30% easier due to less input lag than the original.
fuck off back to Sup Forums
Is Native Fortress the wake-up call of Crash 1? I've had no issues up until dealing with all the awkward jumps in that map courtesy of not being able to hang near the edge of a platform.
senpai, desu I'm baka cuck
i want to drop load on coco, if you know what i mean.
