This game is amazing and it will never have a sequel, kill me now god
...
Why do people like this game?
I tried it out but it felt very clunky.
meaningful choices
That boss fight gave me cancer.
It's really not that hard unless you go full melee but you should almost always have enough points to be able to handle one weapon just a bit
coke is a hell of a drug
The most meaningful of meaningful choices in any RPG ever created, without even a shred of shilling or memeing.
Go to Middle East on mission to kill guy. Do 3 already highly detailed missions and tutorials and conversations. Meet guy you are supposed to kill. If you kill him, he dies forever and there are repercussions for the rest of the game. If you spare him, he becomes a mission-control character who gets several hours of dialogue during the entire rest of the game.
This happens repeatedly, nearly every mission, where how you complete a mission, who you complete it with, and even who you are mean or nice to can completely change the entire rest of the game forever. Incredible writing, incredible characters, and an already 15-20+ hour game with metric fucktons of replayability make it beloved.
The single downside is that the combat is generally clunky and garbage, and is the absolute worst early-game. By mid/late, it's much better and barely noticeable, but the game operates on "Level 0 handgun skill means you can't aim down sights, level 10 handgun skill means you can freeze time and queue headshots like splinter cell" logic, meaning the first several hours of the game will literally be the worst, hardest and clunkiest (which is when everyone gets their first impressions).
If you can suffer through the gameplay until it becomes tolerable, you'll love the shit out of it.
It's the only RPG out there where your choices actually drastically change the game. You straight up won't get to visit major levels if you pick certain things.
>that bossfight with a long-range sniper/stealth character
For some characters genuinely think that fight is nearly impossible unless you specifically go to China first and sabotage his coke supply.

>deliberately pissing off a guy so he reinforces a position, knowing you will be able to talk your way in and now have upgraded mooks to fight with you when you're trying to extract
This game is such a goddamn onion of tactics and gameplay, Jesus.
>killing best girl
I bet you let the Ruskie rape you.
>amazing
Not by far, the actual core gameplay mechanics, shooting and stealth, were kinda ass
The writing's cheesy as fuck in a lot of parts, the plot itself wasn't anything to write home about
The rpg mechanics were just whatever, the only really worth things to even invest in were pistol for chain shot and maybe stealth for evasion
It was a fun romp all in all, but very flawed in many ways
>Obsidian will never get the time or budget to finish a game
It really hurts.
No regrets! Fuck that bitch.
German
You fucking monster
It's truly what makes the game such a hidden gem
Reminder
this thread is getting pretty lighthearted!
