The great debate

The great debate.

REmake > RE4.

Sprinting or potato sack racing?

>good controls vs shit controls

WOW I WONDER WHICH IS BETTER

RE4 is more action based, REmake is more survival horror.

Now, are we gonna debate real comparable things or two different games in the same series.

There is no debate, they are the best example of his respective styles...REmake might get some extra points for being a perfect Remake

>prefect remake
>removes all color from the original and leaves it grey and black

>they are the best example of his respective styles
I didn't post this image though.

>greatest debate

>being such a shitter that you can't use tank controls

They're both excellent games

Are you color blind?

>dude i played Mario with a DDR mat therefore I'm cool and its a good control scheme

>he can't use tank controls
pffffttttt HAHAHAAAHhahhahhahahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHhahHHahHahahha

Pssst
they use the same controls. The camera is just different
go back to VNs
that's probably more your speed

If I want something with actual horror, challenge and aesthetics, I go for REmake. If I want to to play a game purely just to have fun, I go for RE4.

...

The 2 best game of the series. There's no losing.

>Pushing forward on the dpad to go forward?! What is this, this doesn't even make sense!

Always assumed re4 was the best and the worst considering it spawned everything wrong with the series past that point
I disliked 7 as it still didn't really return to form

>When your game is so good that every other game after it tries to be exactly like you

>Not understanding that the game is meticulously balanced around the limited movement scheme
>Not understanding that it adds to the tension and atmosphere of the game

>moving like a tank from a fixed camera is a good control scheme that newer games need to use

Holy hell I never knew how big of an upgrade zero was. Now that's a fucking remake.

>My first RE game was 7

Is Leon a modified human like wesker? I don't understand how Leon went from rookie cop to literal neo but drunk.

The guy is so used to kicking ass he fearlessly takes on BOWs with just a knife

The best game in the series

Experience against unarmed combatants makes you that much cockier.

>say shit controls
>immediate thought is the tank controls of remake

2=4=REmake>Lost in Nightmares>Rev2>Rev1>3>0>5>6

REmake hands down

this, I miss the weird giallo style mansion

bump

RE4, because REmake is just a remake.

Now, if you had put RE4 vs. the original, there'd be something to talk about. I'd go for the original myself.

/thread
fact of the matter is horror games are scary because of the pacing, which means shitty camera angles and aim combat is the best and it always will be. RE4 is more 3rd person shooter

>RE4 is more 3rd person shooter for dudebros
ftfy

the controls are the same

>REmake
>tension, horror, resource management, challenge

>RE4
>press Y to roundhouse kick a zombie's head off

kek
I love how they do something as simple as change the camera and everyone thinks the controls have vastly improved. Makes me think the people who bitched about the controls in the original games were really bitching about the camera the whole time.

RE1-3
>creepy, atmospheric, slow-paced balance of psychological horror and action

Everything after
>arcadey shit with nothing but jumpscares and explosions

4 and everything after should go straight in the trash

aka FUN

It also has very solid combat with good amount of depth and good level/encounter design for said combat. REmake's an adventure game more than anything, the depth is in exploration while the combat is very brainless and shallow.

>tank controls vs tank controls
rly maed me think

It is fun to be scared and in a simulated life or death situation. Too bad you dude bros are the majority.

That's assuming the player gets scared by the game which isn't true for everyone. In terms of tension RE4 beats 1 by a lot, it also just has far more interesting mechanics to play around with. I return to it far more than I do to REmake.

I replayed RE 3 like 10 times.
I replayed Re 4 like 4 times.
Whatever you say, dude bro.

RE3 is almost as much of an action game as RE4 is, who are you kidding?

The two go hand in hand. First few times playing the game, you can never be quite sure what direction you walk in when the control stick direction formerly called "up" has to be rewired to "forward" in your brain.

REmake
Brainlet detected

>bottom of the barrel, lowest common denominator action movie third person shooter
>or a legitimate masterpiece that isn't afraid to be a video game and doesn't have any PRESS A TO NOT HAVE TO REWATCH THE CUTSCENE moments

what debate? you can be a big guy all you want but you'll still gon die with a couple bullets
Lamal wins

Erioioire is so shit that it had to be made a digital-only game.
