SaGa Frontier 2

This is the same character, Wil Knights, at the beginning and at the ending of the game

dd...did he died??

Probably the best example of mentally changing, and physically as well.
>start game as a pussy trust fund rich kid
>end game as a psychopathic murderer who would sacrifice the lives of people he cares about to continue his endless murder spree

Some of the characters in the game die, not him though. A lot of time passes over the course of the plot.
He just gets old and kicks evil's ass alongside his Granddaughter.
I benched him for the final battle because of his oldness

Huh. If this game didn't have pure distilled cancer as a projection method I'd play it, but I get sick just walking around the town

It's possible for him to permanently die and be replaced by a relative for the final battle, if memory serves.

What?

You sure you're thinking of the right game?

I can't play Wind Waker for a similar reason. I got spinning headaches after fifteen minutes of looking at its explosive colors and saturation.

Is that Demi-Fiend's lost twin

This shit just makes my head hurt

>tfw like the battle system and the game gets heaps of praise but I can't get over how jarring the presentation is

thats really meta

Arkham games.

>Fable

I like how their idea of making your character look stronger to accompany your stats was to either get roid-fat, gigantism, or almost fatally-high blood pressure depending on your stats.

ps1 games were on a whole new level. it is a bit hard to go back sometimes, but I really appreciate the transition era

fable 1 is a 10/10 game in hindsight considering what the entire AAA industry has devolved into.

You're not wrong, I just always thought that was silly as fuck.

Is that Nocturne?

You probably shouldn't stretch a 4/3 game into a widescreen resolution.

"At first killing felt wrong, but now.. it feels like winning."

>or mentally

This is pointless. Almost all the games in the world involve some form a character progression, they all mentally change.

it's even worse in native tho

Weird, much of the praise I see for the game is FOR the watercolor visuals.
It seems like most complains are about some other asinine aspect of he game like how scenario progression goes with selecting events to play from the world map (more specifically people doing them out of chronological order by not paying attention to the dates)

I'm pretty sure it's the clown shoes and how the art style actually works flawlessly in the battle mode but then it goes into the weird 3d book popup style with sprites slapped on it style

I kind of wish farcry 3 went further.

Spec Ops is pretty underrated in that regard.

>goes back to being a whiny rich kid

The game kinda blew it with the ending, should've just gone full Heart of Darkness.

I liked how it came across in the feel of the gameplay.

Starting out barely able to take potshots at a wild pig, and ending up progressing through drug-induced mass murder sprees.

I remember somebody commenting on a video of a JP player doing the final battle with, "Nice fight, but you let Wil die." which I assumed was due to Wil's absence from the party during the battle.

I kept meaning to go and research that as I never got remotely close to finishing my run of the game way back when I had it on hand.

Spec Ops: The Line.
The MC's become more and more physically and mentally fucked up as the game goes on, it's cool that even the lines and executions change:

Kind of questionable how sane Walker was even going into Dubai

You chose that ending user

What? That's the only reason people like the fucking game.

It's heavily implied that staying on the island is the true ending. There was no going back after the bodies you buried

Absolutely garbage gameplay, however, fantastic narrative woven into the actions of the player really make the reveal incredibly dark and surreal. I highly recommend people try this game out for the story alone

I think he was sane, he was just a blatant glory hound letting personal feelings regarding the mission endanger everyone around him.

I feel like both endings are a bit too abrupt. Though I almost feel like they should have bit the bullet and had Jason make the choice himself rather than let the player decide.

I agree. He had an ego problem, he kept pushing forward because he believed he was the only one who could do the right thing, in that mind set he continued to set himself down the path of no return. I truly believe the true ending is Walker shooting himself

>ctrl+f
>shadow of the colossus
>no results

During the course of the game as the MC destroys pieces of his soul he becomes paler, blood becomes increasingly black, hair changes color, etc.

It's subtle and incredible

I fully agree. They should of made Jason kill that one black bitch and he should of become the king of the jungle. He was a literal unstoppable killing machine, his destiny tied him to that island. They had endless potential. I love Far Cry 3 but there's no denying the last 1/3 of the game is the weakest part

>should of
FUCK OFF

>physically
Prince of Persia SoT Trilogy
>mentally
Bloodborne

Tomb Raider (2013). By the end of the game, I'm suprised your singlet has fallen off with how much damage it has.

thats pretty cool, is there a video about that?

Bullshit, Fable easily has notable gameplay flaws and things that they could have done better I bet half the reason why they went so far forwards in time is because they didn't want to make gameplay mechanics involving the use a shield, on top of all that, it's one of the most casual games you could play and YOUR HEALTH IS LOW! DO YOU HAVE POTIONS OR FOOD?

I'm sure there is somewhere but this should be enough

This is all before the last cutscene when you basically become a zombie

I don't think that really fit Jason's arc either.

The people's romanticization of Citra was one of the main reasons that Jason initially felt drawn to staying on the island. And he fell for that allure and mysticism as she validated his blood lust.

Last Guardian had something similar I believe, but only if you failed a lot.

kino

twd clementine my sweet sweet child

The art in that game was amazing.

hero your will energy is low, watch that

In Freedom Fighters, you start off in just plumber clothes, but as the game progresses and the season turns to winter, the main character's hair gets longer and he bundles up. This is him by the last mission.
