Why is Skyrim so good? It's been six years and I'm still playing it. Also, Skyrim memories?

It isn't. I'm sorry. No.

>six years
Are you sure? Surely it must have only been two or three.

get fucked buddy the game is amazing

i remember my first beer.

But it is, user. It's also better than your favorite RPG.

Skyrim was honestly terrible. Legitimately awful combat, horrid graphics (even for the time), a main plot that isn't worth remembering, broken af progression, garbage AI, filled to bursting with bugs etc. I dare you to dispute any of this.
It did have a lot of content though so that's neat.

Why is dangling keys in front of children so good? why do they like it so much? figure that out and you will understand why your plebeian mind likes skyrim

most problems you listed can be solved with light modding (did you really play skyrim if you didn't use mods?) and the progression system was only "broken" because you played on easy like a casual pleb

Why is becoming a thane so useless? The jarls give you some second rate enchanted weapon and you get one get out of jail free card but that's it. The negro in whiterun still asks if you've been to the cloud district.

Because the early mind is in a hyperactive developmental state establishing values to objects and actions in the day to day world. Keys are a commonly encountered item with no immediately discernible function routinely handled by entities we both instinctively know to be and learn to be extremely important people. It is natural to turn to the key as a curiosity and develop one of our first infatuations with them.

I apologize but I don't readily see the analog with Skyrim.

Skyrim plays poorly and is heaps of recycled assets strung across a big world with lots of exploring to do and shallow encounters to find, with quests shoved in your face inside cramped city hubs.
It's pretty bad.

todd this is just getting embarrassing

You can't say a game is good if you have to mod every aspect of it to make it playable. Progression was fucked regardless of difficulty, there were multiple ways to get op that made absolutely zero sense, while other methods that seemed legitimate rewarded next to nothing. Skyrim is shit.

>shit tier one-dimensional characters
>boring button mash combat
>magic is the worst in whole series
>enemy difficulty is just them being spongy and dealing more damage
>final fight is a fucking joke, just another dragon
>reused assets for every cave. dungeon and fort
>"cities" are just 5 houses with a wooden fence, sometimes even without, literally can't distinguish them from some peasant settlement
>faction storylines are a fucking joke written by some 8 year old
College of Winterhold is the most cliche story ever, main villain is thrown full Nazi at you the first minute you start the story.
Companions are a fucking mess and doesn't make any sense. They force you into taking ritual to become a werewolf but then cry like bitched that it's a CURSE that made them werevoles. No, you fuckers forced me into it, are you retarded?
Not to mention other flaws like fuckton of bugs.
Jounalists hyped this game into infinity and started the death of gaming. Back then Skyrim was the best shit, now it's hated and Zelda and Nintedo became new Bethesda. Every retard throws 10s at BotW even though in few years it will be as hated, if not more, as Skyrim.
Both games push the retarded open world meme and every Triple A title will not have it, which will make them into another empty garbage.

ywn get a world like Skyrim's with actual good combat

I'm holding out hope for DD2

Skyrim is a great game, you people don't know how to have fun.

It's okay, but the main reason why I personally keep coming back to it is because It's comfy

Robust modding support

i remember when i tried to kill that one guy but he only fell down for a little bit instead of having consequences

I have Skyrim SE sitting on my shelf, unplayed. Convince me to finally play it.

>Skyrim is a great game
Vanilla Skyrim is not.

Its a comfy game but the combat and npcs suck ass

Why would I play Skyrim when Morrowind exists?

Something about the music I guess. Otherwise it's draugr dungeon simulator. Hell, the quality difference between standard edition quests and dlc quests is so fucking huge.

Will never happen. They can have the worst combat possible and still make money so why bother? There is no incentive to put effort into an open world game because they all get a 10/10 just for being open world.

i have 400 hours in skyrim
20 unmodded

To feel sexual pleasure from killing the forsworn scum.

literally unplayable without mods that
>remove level scaling on items
>overhaul stealth to be less broken
>lowers gold rewards and increases the price of items
>improve combat and enemy ai

It's trash for consoles. Original is superior in every way.

combat evolved already did

he meant actual good combat

If i'm honest, i was totally absorbed by it for about 50-60 hours.

haven't really played it since and never finished the main story

Dog shit game.

Can't believe I fell for the hype and bought it I feel fucking ashamed.

>6 years
N-no, wait....

But it's fun

>destruction magic was fucking useless
>sneak attacks and bows: the game
>essential npcs
>dragons just become a nuisance that respawn every 10 seconds
>the civil war quests fucking sucked

Here's how I explain Skyrim success: In vidya you usually wonder "what's behind that mountain?", in Skyrim you can actually explore what is behind the mountain, sadly the answer is "generic dungeon #18347 with 4 rooms max and 5 to 6 enemies", however by the time you find out there is nothing really interesting to do you already spend 30+ hours minimum, most modern players enjoy the exploration so the game is always entertaining to them.

I believe people who love Dark Souls hate Skyrim and vice versa.

That´s a false syllogism.

Just because you like something still, does not have to mean that it was ever good in the first place.

>all mage npcs in skyrim have 100% increased mana regen and their spells are used at 0.5 the mana cost of the same spells used by the player

Who thought this was ok?

literally the most overrated game of all time
youtube.com/watch?v=JlFPJVI9-ng

Is this true? If so, do mods fix this?

Magic is useless past a certain level, shouts are also useless past a certain level, enchanting and smithing beats every enemy in the game, many quests are bugged to the point that they may never be completed, sneak is overpowered and too effective, plus many more issues.
Skyrim is unplayable after a few hours in vanilla, the only thing that keeps it going for me is constant modding and extra content.
Vanilla Skyrim is shit.

Compared to other games in the series it lacks in many ways. It's a dumbed down game. Yet, it still managed to be fun.

>It's been six years

This is one of the only reasons I still play the game every few months, to see how much I can mod it for sex appeal.
Defeating female bandits, dominating them, fucking every decent looking woman I come across and the latest combat overhaul mods.

...

It is a bad game and even more of a bastardization of the series than Oblivion ever was.

Truly I wish I could enjoy such a thoroughly average and entirely underwhelming title like so many others but it is just overhyped tosh, like Dark Souls.

Hope the RPG genre as a whole recovers sooner rather than later because all of the notable RPG titles released in the past decade or so have been severely underwhelming yet met with immense praise due to God knows what reason.

It's true. Bethesda couldnt figure out how to make mages a threat with their shit AI. There are afew mods that make mages keep their distance and dont charge into you full retard though, like combat evolved, and i remember of a mod that increases their spell casting cost to 1.5 to make them a little less bullshit.

Skyrim without mods is garbage, making Emil Pagliarulo lead writer ruined Bethesda.

kek
What was the image?

I really like it, the world is great even if the NPCs are a bit basic. Don't really give a shit about combat, so that isn't an issue for me. The atmosphere is good and something about it is just fun.

It's the Bethesda effect. For whatever reason I hate their games but cannot stop playing them.

Just a woman with a quite large penis running arround jorvaskr.

>Special Edition is much more stable
>SKSE for SSE never
Well then, I guess one can live with CTDs

Shitty moldy old game that only people with nothing going on in their lives still play.

>I believe people who love Dark Souls hate Skyrim and vice versa.
Nope, I love both of them.
