Mike Pondsmith didn't create the cyberpunk, he just made a tabletop game and named it after the genre.

After The Witcher, I am very hyped to see CDPR's next project. I'm skeptical about the dystopian future setting because it's been played to death already, but Wild Hunt was the last truly great game I've played and I expect not to be dissapointed with this. If this game even comes close to how good the Witcher franchise was it could do wonders for the setting and we could finally get the dystopian future RPG we've always wanted.

If not, then fuck life.

I agree about that Dishonored is less a dystopia and has more of a standard fantasy/steampunk world.
Dunno about Destiny, but Remember Me is a straight-up dystopian: memories are bought and sold by a huge corporation that establishes a surveillance state in Paris.
I'd argue that Fallout really isn't, there is nothing particularly frightening about the majority of the societies save for the people still in the Vaults.
