>play generic shitty jrpg
>they introduce sexy, scantily clad girl
Everytime
>desu ex HR
>nightclub bouncer tells me to pay up or i cant go in
>say i dont have the money
>immediately after conversation, sucker punch bouncer and walk right in
loved it ever since
>Monster Hunter 1 on the PS2
>Game doesn't explain much of anything
>Struggle my way through the game
>Enjoy it, but also not really grabbed by it
>Get to Rathalos and he kicks my ass seven ways to Sunday
>Close to giving up
>Try one more time and cut the tail this time
>See Rathalos squirm and yelp in pain
>I know he can now feel pain
>I know he can die
And now I have thousands of hours in the series.
Two words.
>eventide island
>play jrpg
>the battle system is awesome
Guess the game
Nocturne?
>kick down ladder
>playing Suikoden 2 for the first time
>about 10 hours in
>super impressed but I'm pretty sure the game has no more major surprises left up it's sleeves
>get to the bit where you're given a castle
>it's not clear initially what the significance of this is
>go to South Window
>bump into the nice couple who talked about leaving their shitty Inn to start a new life elsewhere
>ask them to join me
>they set up an inn above the tavern in my castle
I don't know why this was the thing in particular, but I guess I was just excited to find more people to improve my castle and made me love the game
>you can fly out the windshield of your car
>dark messiah
>kick
nuff said
any games other than gta and flatout carnage do this?
>Bosses turn into new weapons after you beat them
>You fight a boss but it runs away
>Your rival kills it and turns it into a weapon
>He uses it against you in the next bossfight
What game?
DMC3
Suikoden 2 was the only game I played to see what happened next. The gameplay wasn't amazing but it had so many great moments
>stop that blade!
>RULES OF NATURE
>throws ray up into to the air like its nothing
>it's kobra backwards
>The opening of Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
"An awfully long time ago..."
>be me
>12 years old
>awesome dad gets me Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for my birthday
>have to play on shitty pc with lower ish settings
>don't care, game is fucking fantastic
>spend as much time playing it after school as I can
>kind fucked up my first playthrough in hindsight (didn't even understand the importance of Persuade like the newfag I was)
>eventually get to THAT part
>there's this really famous twist in the game that I'm not going to spoil cause it's one of the best video game plot twists ever, not even joking
>hit me like a fucking truck, little 12 year old me gets his brain blown open
>stare agape at the screen for what felt like an hour as my brain matter dripped off the walls
>from that moment on I loved that game more then any other
>replayed it over 20 times over the course of my teenage years
>don't play it as much anymore, occasionally pick it up and do a playthrough when I feel like a good old nostalgia rush
>still my favorite game of all time
>Parker hates it when I get the drop on him
>I HATE IT WHEN HE GETS THE DROP ON ME
>STARS DON'T TWINKLE, THE MOON DOESN'T SHINE

Can't really put this into words desu
>Start playing W101
>Get control after Wonder Red transforms
>DANGER'S COMIN', LOOMIN' LARGE, SO WHO'S GONNA MAKE A STAND
>Start up XCOM
>Be called commander
A snazzy title is literally all it takes for me.
Shadow Hearts?
My. Fucking. NIGGERS.
The moment when i started learning more about GS in MHFU and realized charges where something you could use very often rather than a gimmick type thing.
>You walk down into Japan
>when you learn how to fuck up a Tigrex with GS Charge
Priceless
>main character is pushed to the wall
>goes berserk in a sense
>absolutely takes everyone by surpise and unleashes a force to be reckoned with
oh baybee yes pls
>play shitty jrpg with whored out female protagonist
>you get to be the shota
> SURF THE WEB SURF THE WEB
The final fight against Ilias in MGQ
The theme, four heavenly knights appearing, the flashback for all villages around the world fighting against the angels and the fuckign build up throughout the game.
I really did like this game before this fight, but after this fight i can safely say that i fucking love Monsumu Quest.
>Playing Haunting Ground
>character gets groped by Daniella while sleeping
>Daniella says she is not complete
>Bashes her head into a window several times until it shatters, then takes a broken piece of glass
>Proceeds to chase me all over with it
>Find her later and she's just cleaning
>Interact her and she calmly says "it's cleaning time now," then goes back to cleaning
>Chases me again later while acting even more manic
>Find her cleaning again and she gives me a necessary item, then goes back to cleaning
That's when I realized Haunting Ground was my favorite game. The team managed to make a psychotic character, without making her either silly or an edge-master. The puzzles in the game were perfect, too.
step in front of a runaway train...
>You had me under a gun... yet you just walk away? No monster alive turns the other cheek. No monster does that. A thinking man does that.
Actually forget this post the moment I fell in love was when I got the drill dash.
>the hat comes off
Anyone who has played this game knows which one it is.
this
>You're not gonna believe this Jean-Louis, all of them have ribbon insignias!
I fucking love Ace Combat.
>put the game into the console
>PlayStation 2 splash screen blacks out
>"What a thrill..."

>Playing Rimworld, it's alright, getting a little repetitive though.
>Drop pod lands, it's a colonist's husband
>Incapable of caring. Incapable of dumb labor. Incapable of skilled labor. Very neurotic. Annoying voice.
>Leave him to bleed out in sight of the field his wife is working
>2 days later the colony burns down in a dry lightning storm
10/10 GOTYAY
mah nigga
>When you are ten years old and play Half Life for the first time.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the sheer wizardry from the resonance cascade sequence?
>Playing Pokémon
>A wild Ralts appeared!
>a survival mechanic exclusive to one area made me fall in love with the whole game
Fighting cops on the streets of Tokyo was when Kane and Lynch went from a fun homage to Michael Mann films to 'holy shit I'm playing Heat.'
