Trying to play a JRPG. I normally do raiding in an MMO most of the time but I've decided to take a break. I really want to play a JRPG. Any recommendations I could get?
Potential games: Tales of Berseria Legend of Dragoon Vagrant Story Final Fantasy?
This. P5 is one of the best, if not the best JRPG ever. If you enjoyed those JRPGs, you'd definitely like P5.
Jackson Diaz
I don't have a PS3. :[
Christopher Peterson
This or Tsubasa's game
Lincoln James
>plays jrpgs >doesn't have a ps3 what are you doing?
Noah Hernandez
Ah, that sucks. You could emulate Persona 4. That game is incredible too.
Jackson Lewis
Berseria and Xenoblade.
I hated persona 5 so I can't recommend it to you.
Cameron Davis
Vagrant Story is pretty good although you might want to do research the combat system, it's very obtuse and unintuitive
Blake Walker
Legend of Dragoon if you're in the mood for something long
Bentley Ramirez
Or Persona 3. They're both amazing games.
Ryder Collins
recommending garbage xD
Camden Allen
Is this game good? No negative answers allowed because I already bought it Only say positive things please.
Thomas Nguyen
OP likes Neptunia so it's a step up at least.
Luis Miller
I really hated repeating the same shit with a slight twist over and over again.
Connor Carter
The only redeeming quality about Berseria is the cast and story. Everything else about the game, especially the level design is atrociously bad. LoD is pretty nice but it was never my thing. Maybe give FF7 or 9 a try on steam. Or emulate the PS2 SMT games or Persona.
Isaac Morris
It's good up until the point where it feels like it's going to end and goes straight to shit.
Nathan Jackson
It has issues but it's a very solid JRPG
Isaac Adams
One of these.
I liked it, but I never finished it. I got spoiled by one of my friend's and lost all drive to finish it.
Landon Morgan
Life sim/adventure games, in multiple styles of gameplay.
Yakuza Ace Attorney Shenmue Zero Escape Hotel Dusk Ghost Trick
I don't like but they fit: Persona, Danganronpa
Sebastian Young
The only JRPG in that list is Persona...
Austin Sanders
Kal online Dragon raja

Who said anything about JRPGs other than OP? The thread is titled "Recommendation General"
Asher Brooks
>I really want to play a JRPG
Isaiah Harris
Are you OP? Why did you title this thread wrong if you didn't want anyone else to talk about anything else but JRPGs? And if you're not, then learn to read.
Also Yakuza is a way better JRPG series than Persona.
Noah Wright
>Yakuza is a way better JRPG series than Persona
Sebastian Perez
I wonder who interrupted the thread incorrectly. The 13 people who recommended OP JRPGs to play as per his request. Or you, who thought to just recommend whatever.
Samuel Myers
I wasn't talking to OP you tard.
>typical JRPG fags
Nathan Price
Plus he put Berseria in the OP when it's not even an RPG. But since the thread is already about JRPGs by now I'll post some LoL and get some not-Saga in here.
Camden Wood
How is it not a RPG?
Aiden Richardson
forgot the J in that post. It's not a JRPG because it's not turn based.
Lucas Cruz
A game doesn't have to be turn based to be considered a RPG, what the fuck are you talking about?
Ryan Nelson
>Yakuza > JRPG
Elijah Walker
Your taste sounds pretty garbage my dude, we need to fix that.
Try these actually good jrpgs: Dragon Quest III Dragon Quest V Chrono Trigger Metal Max Returns Earthbound Breath of Fire III and IV Final Fantasy Legends I-III (SaGa I-III) Saga Frontier I and II Romancing Saga Ministrel Song SMT: Nocturne SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2
Dominic Reyes
Yeah, character progression, side quests, exploration, which the series does better in character building than Persona which is just easy and pointless stat building and doesn't have either of those other things. You don't need numbers to make a JRPG.
Samuel Long
Those shitty retrieval side quests that are given in the velvet rooms don't even count as side quests for me. S-links don't either, as it's just integral to playing and only consists of you hitting the right button to give shitty advice to insecure teenagers.
>Persona >real JRPG
Jack Cook
Trails in the sky.
Luis Garcia
OP here. I've played Chrono Cross and I enjoyed it. I also played Dragon Quest, well.. Dragon Warrior 1 and 2. I see there's tons of them on DS and I never played any cause I was worried I wouldn't get to play them in order.
OP says you can recommend anything you want. All games considered.
I have a friend who's super into Persona, it seems like one of those games that 50% of people love and 50% of people hate cause it's popular. I've never understood that.. I've often wondered about Persona though, seemed like a fun series.
Isaac Scott
Ignore the ds DQ games. They are fine themselves as games but the English versions have terrible translations. If you're curious a particular DQ tell me and I'll help with which version to play and what to expect.
Austin Robinson
I think the Persona games are pretty mediocre honestly. The social aspects are not interesting to me at all and the dungeon crawling is pretty bad. I rather play other Megaten games. They're worth at least a playthrough.
Connor Rivera
This right here. The thing about persona is they really rely on thier VN sections as their defining feature. If you don't care about them they will be unenjoyable.
