What games have anime type finishers?
Incredible power with a heavy drawback, the type you'd save for a boss.

Fairy Fencer F ADF has cinematic super attacks that do a lot of damage, but eat a bunch of health in addition to SP (mana).

Ar Tonelico

Kingdom hearts 2 drive forms or limits.

Vanquish is what you crave, OP.

Asura's Wrath is nothing but those.

Granted, it's also more of an interactive anime then a game proper, having a ton of qte's, with the missions being called episodes with "next time on" preview, and commercial bumpers, but still: If you want a game that's nothing but over the top anime action bullshit, AW (and the DLC, episodes 21 and 22 are fucking 12/10) is for you.

Play ABA in Guilty Gear.
It is the ultimate "you have to fuck yourself to win" character.

I could say the same to you guys.

The combat can get a bit lackluster but this remains to be my all time favorite game

last one.

Anyways, OP, if you wanna play it, make sure you get the 360 version, it has less screen tearing. Also, english voices BTFO the jap ones, so keep it on the english audio track.

I have been meaning to play/watch it how much do you think it is worth buying for.
I am looking at it now for about 20 bucks.

>that look on Ryu's face
LOL

Earth defence force 4.1 has a large grenade that can't be thrown very far, and requires a bit of windup, but pays off with a huge damaging explosion that can hurt you if you're too close.

I'd say it's something I'd rather buy than watch, I'm a fan of the QTE in this game as well and you can't really get that from watching, if you do decide to I know Cry did a pretty good playthrough

Damn, is it really that much worse on PS3? My 360 isn't hooked up.

youtube.com/watch?v=OXxDLJPiLN4

who /blackweeb/ here?

I originally played it on 360 but I also played it on PS4 with PSNow which wasn't as good but still playable

Mulatto weeb here.

I mean, I had so much fun with it that I don't know I could put a pricetag on it, but i'd say try to get the 360 version used for $10-$15, then with the DLC it'll be about 20$ total.

Watching it all on youtube is also an option, given how much of it is cutscenes and qte;'s and how shallow the actual combat is, but none of the youtube playthroughs get every single qte counter animation for the gameplay sections to play, and the game legimately makes good usage of QTE's that having you play would really add to

Go watch the first mission on yotuube for a video that plays it on 360 and one that plays it on PS3, it's not super duper more awful on PS3 but it's enough that the 360 version is certainly preferable

>game has strong finisher attack that takes forever to build up and dies massive damage to yourself
>can't even one shot a boss at a third life
Why

Soul Sacrifice is thematically designed around those, but in terms of gameplay I found them a bit disappointing. The game is great besides that, though.

I just realized you never played the game yet, so don't watch that first mission.

But yeah, PS3 version does have noticable worse screen tearing, and I think some lower quality effects in general

I don't have a 360 anymore I gave it to charity years ago since I never played it and just played it on my ps3.

in Shin Megami Tensei some spells cost hp, also there are few suicide spells.

"Almighty physical skills"

The entire SRW series.
If you aren't playing the OG series of the games then they often also go the extra mile and emulate the same animation styles of that particular series the robot comes from (ie: Getter Robo attacks effects might look a bit dated because they are the same effects used in the original anime)
Shit's dope.

Also, is that the same anime with the frog loli?

The Lord of the Elemental games.

In those SRW spinoffs you have HP/EN and a 3rd stat called PN.

stronger moves use PN and PN gives you stat bonuses so burning your PN makes you weaker and it regains at an absurdly slow rate (1/16th your max every turn and then 1/8th of your max at ace status)

see pic for what I am talking about

>Also, is that the same anime with the frog loli?

yes

Bravely Default and Second has plenty of crazy-ass abilities that can potentially harm you while inflicting massive damage.
>See You in Hell activates when character gets KO and allahu akbars all enemies into oblivion

With the latest patch in Darkest Dungeon Jester can only use his incredibly powerful Finale move once, and what's interesting is that he can buff it multiple times before he uses it so he can unleash it when after you've buffed it a few times and have the target Marked for a huge spike in damage.

Disgaea.

Hulk Ultimate Destruction has a bunch of literal SUMAAAASH moves if that's specifically what you're looking for, Deku.
youtu.be/1m55S9hIE4k
Skip to #1 for my favorite, in general the Critical Mass moves are All Might tier.

The SF5 DLC characters got a little animu
Like E Ryu and Oni

This, Oni gets pretty ridiculous sometimes

SRW OG games have exactly what you're looking for youtube.com/watch?v=5vzemxtDebQ

There was some jrpg or something where you could give one party member super power for one battle but they'd die permanently afterwards. I'll try and find it.

Covenant of the Plume

Valkyrie Profile?

I think it was Valkyrie profile

Kingdom Hearts

Is this webm the DLC.
Damn looks sweet, makes me wish I played it.

Asura's Wrath was real fun, desu

If you can get it cheap, it's really worth it

Oh yeah I played the main game, but don't recognise that fight.
And also looks like the moon fight but I thought your oponent looked completely different, more like a money than you did.

Dragon Quarter. You can go into dragon mode, but if your counter reaches 100%, you get a game over. Keeps on slowly ticking up even if you're just walking.

the counter also goes up when not in dragon mode.

All it does it force you to rush through the shitty game

>rush
Only reason you would need to rush is if you were spamming d-mode like a dumbass. Traps are far more useful.

Definitely Super Robot Wars.

It's a tad difficult to find one to play, but the new(ish) one, Super Robot Wars V, is able to be imported and has an English version.

For big ol' mechs that destroy universes, it does the job very well.

youtube.com/watch?v=eE2esIcRhNQ

I remember playing a game where you could go into a type of berserk mode or transformation that you could only use a certain amount of times during the game and if you went over the limit you would get a game over and permadeath.
Cant remember the name though.

Naruto storm 4

go away philip

Doesn't get more anime than this

Just read a few posts up, user

Wasn't that breath of fire Dragon quarter?

>what games have a press to win button

Which game has back to back best girls to the point where every girl is best girl?

Bonus points if she has healthy thighs.

That webm is from the 2 lost episodes DLC

quick explanation of the DLC:

Part 4 DLC, AKA episodes 19-22, AKA true ending DLC: Continues the main storyline. Basically mandatory, 21 and 22 are some of the coolest missions in the entire medium, bar none.

Lost Episodes: 2 bonus, non canon crossover levels with street fighter characters

Epsidoes 11.5 and 15.5: Extra, 2d animatied episodes that take place between 11 and 12 and 15 and 16, respectively. As they are just a 2d animated anime episode with QTE's over them, these should just be watched on youtube unless you are an autist for video quality. I also have one of the two ripped as a video file, which I can upload if anybody wants

That fight's DLC, where you fight a couple guys from street fighter on the moon after you uppercut one so hard he leaves the planet's atmosphere and lands there.

>ONIGIRI

Fire Emblem depending on your preferences

That bitchy healslut can go fuck herself tho.

this the first one?

bought it during the sale, definitely moved up in my backlog if that's the case...

Why is Oni from Street Fighter in Asura's Wrath?
How are those two games tied? Or is he just a guest character?

He is one of the main villains who tried to find a worthy opponent by crossing time and space.

Asura's Wrath, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter are all in the same universe. Asura and crew appear reincarnated in.modern SF times, you even see Chun Li chastising Kalrow, now a business man on a segway, for driving his vehicle too fast on a sidewalk. As for Monster Hunter, the Demondrug directly references Asura as the god of rage/fury/wrath. Essentially, Asura -> MonHun -> SF is the timeline

>this headcanon

Too bad the actual best girls don't get the screentime they deserve.

Almost any JRPG

BUT HEY THAT'S JUST A THEORY...

You have more than enough time to explore everywhere and still use the dragon form on nearly every boss if you want to. Just don't spam it every encounter and avoid using the D-Dash and you are more than fine.

a gay theory

Soon my friend.

Soon.

What, you got a better headcanon? And c'mon, the idea of Akuma potentially going back to MonHun times to fight Deviljhos and Rajangs is pretty cool.

Is she suppose to be some kinda bug?

>youtube.com/watch?v=eE2esIcRhNQ
>that final breast nova
>half of the enemy mech is melted off
>the other half is evaporated with rust hurricane
holy shit
this is the most effort I've ever seen in a SRW dynamic kill

Yup

Are there any anime where the MC uses "that" even though "it would destroy their body" and they actually have to live with the consequence of "that" affecting them thereafter, unlike Kaioken and Gear.

Like losing an arm or a sense or some shit and the fighting style and strength suffer as a result?

Please don't say FMA or Berserk, thanks

/thread

It's cute *blushes*.

Still. The invisible one offers so much to the imagination.

>And c'mon, the idea of Akuma potentially going back to MonHun times to fight Deviljhos and Rajangs is pretty cool.
Well yeah but it doesn't really make sense for SF costumes to exist in Monhun if we follow that headcanon. Along with the other franchises that exist in the SF world.

Virtual On OT, Raiden has the ability to relinquish his impressive armor during a fight in exchange for a massive speed boost

Etrian Odyssey Untold 2.
The titular Fafnir Knight can transform mid battle into a demonic creature, and when he transforms, he gets a special battle theme and the ability to attack 3 times per turn, with his most powerful attack (Akashic Nova) completely destroying his ability to use the transformation until he returns to town in exchange for dealing the highest brute force blow in the game.
youtube.com/watch?v=-rWgTtq1qk4
Fits your criteria more than anything else I can think of.
Also, when he battles the final boss,
he uses the Grail to activate the final stage of the transformation, becoming an unstoppable killing machine at the cost of his life (assumedly) to bring down the otherwise unkillable final boss for good.

O

I been interested on My Hero Academy for a long time but I think it's time to watch it

Should I see the anime? how different is from the manga? I genuinely hate when anime become so different from the manga like FMA

...

Scryed

It follows incredibly closely to the manga, no filler at all. Though it does expand on some things that the manga glanced over in a few panels (which is a good thing in my opinion) such as expanding 2 panel fight scenes into longer segments.

is that a moonbrooke princess

Tekkaman Blade?

Fun fact, Asura is just a Japanese deity, which many Japanese series reference Monster Hunter included. Save yourself some embarrassment and never post something like this again.

>unlike Kaioken and Gear.
To be fair Kaioken Blue x10 fucked up Goku hard after.

The streetfighter x asura theory fits but man putting monster hunter in it is a big stretch man.

Izuku in My Hero Academia just fucked up his hand for life by breaking all his fingers twice over.

Chrono crusade.
