1 is great. 2 is ok. 3 is great. 4 has a good case or two and a couple of really shitty ones. 5 is meh. 6 is bad. Investigations is good. Investigations 2 is great. Vs Professor Layton is ok if you're a fan of both series.

The original trilogy is really great. Whilst I think 2 was my least favorite game in the series (Case 4 was really great) by the end of the 3rd game you'll be glad you played it.

I'm really biased but I'd say play all of them including the spin-offs.

Easily one of my favorite series ever.

Only played the original trilogy and Investigations, but I've thoroughly enjoyed each of them. 1 and Investigations 2 are the best imho.

>is it worth play the whole trilogy?
Yes. They're all great games

Vs Professor Layton has some of the best OST's in the entire series

Don't mind me, just posting the best Ace Attorney game in existence

Overrated game. And the cringeworthy fan translation certainly doesn't help it.

>We will never get a game as good as this or T&T again

You probably wouldn't know perfection even if it ripped your pants in half and fucked you in the ass for 20 straight hours

Edgeworth kills Reginald Freedom in Case 4 of Trials and Tribulations

> athena
Biggest mistake in the sreies

First game is 9/10. Second game is 8/10 as long as you pretend the circus trial doesn't exist. Third game is 9/10.

Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice were kinda meh. Layton X Wright was god-tier production on top of a garbage-tier story, wouldn't really recommend it unless you jerk off to Layton.

My jam

cringe worthy? They just translated it?

Yeah you'll probably play the first three games anyway. Also SoJ is pretty great too I don't know what game those other guys played.

Lol you're really playing those games? They're so old. Just watch the Ace Attorney anime. A-1 Pictures did a great job as usual. Check out A-1's other animes too like Eromanga Sensei

She's bad as a playable character butgood as a assistant.

Kill
Your
Self

umad manimefag? Eromanga Sensei > Gurenn Lagann

The only reason i even enjoyed this was because i played the game. I would never recommend watching to to anyone unless they play the games

Anyway, here (You) go

SoJ was the worst game in the series.

This is a complete watered down and butchered versions of 2 games, are you fucking serious? It had its moments, but it lackluster as fuck, especially since OP hasn't even finished the first game.

(You)

Not even close to AJ.

Fuck me OP perfect timing

Should I play the first Ace Attorney game or 999? I loved danganronpa 1+2 and have a pretty big interest in the legal system, but 999 looks more interesting

play 999 on DS (not PC) and then play the whole AA series, run away now. don't play the phone versions of the original trilogy.

Why not emulate both?

>AJ by far the weakest game of the franchise
>Has by far the best first case

What happened?

>fan dub
>cringeworthy
You can only pick one faggot

both, fgt. Don't look up any character on 999 til you finish.

Both series are pretty good, check both of them.
As says play the DS version of 999, not the one released recently on PC.

Because I own both physically on DS and i'm trying which of the two I want to play first
Yeah I have 999 on DS and VLR on vita
Thanks for the help
not super helpful senpai

I just wanted to choose one of the two to play first is all

i'll add on what said, and say don't look up any characters of 999 even after you finish, do it only after finishing the whole ZE trilogy, like the ZE wiki has spoilers on the title of its articles and it's the first result after googling.

The chapter did a good job of throwing you into a world where stuff is already happening, and making you feel like you were just a piece in a larger mystery. You had Phoenix being weird as shit and the twist about Gavin.
Then the rest of the game failed to deliver on it and instead gave us this.

What makes the DS version better? I'd rather play it on my vita.

Well 999 is more puzzles, while AA is more cross examining/evidence finding like in Dangan.

So thats up to you on which style of gameplay you preferred more

For all the shit people give AJ I think case 2 was also pretty decent

Yeah I already know what a shit show 999's series is spoiler wise

I know for story heavy games like these searching the characters is a terrible idea

Puzzles for sure since the cross examining/evidence finding was generally cool but easy
I'm really tempted to go for AA just to justify listening to the jazz OST again

1-3 are fun, definitely worth a play. Justice For All has some crappy cases, but the ending is fantastic.

The lyrics are so cringe, holy fuck.

Oh, okay. They're both great, AA is the more lighthearted, fun story while 999 has more mystery and urgency/death at every corner type thing.
Depends on what you want right now I guess? Either that or flip a coin

I absolutely loved Danganronpa 1 and 2 but I couldn't get into the PW series. Anybody else feel the same?

Damn, I was hoping you fags would shill AA to me but you guys are doing a damn well job shilling 999 to me since it sounds like thats way more up my style

Are they around the same length? What is AA1, like 7-15 hours?

So is this a DS thread now? Thoughts on this?

I personally didn't really like it but I didn't think it was bad.
On the other hand I liked case 3 even if it was bad.

The text is better written, the Vita version makes you choose between the original text with the ugliest UI ever, or the good UI with the bad text, there's a few other reasons why I can't say without going into spoiler territory but the finale of the game has way more impact if you play the original.
That being said the Vita version obviously has improvements like the voice acting, the flowchart (you have to replay the game in the DS version and do a fast skip on the text) and the text scrolling a bit faster.
It's okay if you play the Vita/PC version but it's better if you play the original.

I liked both but think Dangan is inferior because it's a little more edgy and tryhard.

No it isn't but top tier game outside of furry shit

...

No. Danganronpa is fucking trash.

I liked both but I found Danganronpa worse than AA simply because the last cases are really bad in both games. Hope we get something as great as 2-5 in the third game.

I'd say it's closer to twice that. 999 is shorter, but you have to beat it multiple times. Getting the actual ending will probably take about the same length of time.

>999

>AA
howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=7026

Not that guy, but I think the end of DR2 is amazing if you don't take the game seriously.

The last cases in both 1 and 2 were great though

The escape from hope's peak and defeat of the villain was great especially the final fight

I don't even know how you could consider DR2's ending or its last case anything less then a 10

Who was the best AA final boss?

DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY

Thanks babe
Really surprises me though, I thought for sure that 999 would be way longer
Ah is this like a Nier deal? Or something else

I didn't enjoy the fact that they're so different to the main cases where you investigate some murder, and it becomes despair this hope that. Maybe I shouldn't have used bad but I didn't enjoy the endings to the games at all.

He said "Best", not "Best at Bullshitting"

>Ah is this like a Nier deal? Or something else
Kind of. It has a few bad endings, but only two "real" endings and you have to play through one of them before you can do the other.

This. It's really disappointing that nobody dies from the second half of chapter 4 onward. Also the hope talk was unbearable in both games.

>you have 9 hours to make your escape
>can finish the game in 9 hours
sasuga uchikosher

Akane is Zero, the player character is Zero in every game, Tenmyouji is Junpei, Ace is the bad guy, VLR is set on the moon in the future,

>6 is bad

Wrong

Yeah ok thats fair, it is a shift and its usually not done very well
Hope was only good when Komeda was being insane about it

Say what you will about the dangan games, but they're sure as a hell better then the animes (3 was hilarious)

>implying I didn't know all of that already
6/10 solid effort
actually thats a lie it was a really shitty effort, go fuck yourself lazy shitposter
Learn to be creative

Mad

Why waste time posting more than one spoiler when people are just going to look away after reading the first one you retard

I rolled my eyes for a half second if that makes you feel better

>5 is meh
>6 is bad

...

Friendly reminder that he did nothing wrong.

He was so not wrong he only got caught on an arguably self-defense kill. He should only be tried by kidnapping.

Simon and Miles are very similar, just trying to ensure justice. Miles uses the State's justice - which is awful, yet predictable - and Simon uses his own sense of justice -- which is efficient, yet unpredictable. They are just trying to reward violence with more violence to make it stop existing. But, you know, if they ever let their guard down, I think they both would just agree that violence breeds violence, but in the end it has to be this way. Miles carved his own path, Simon followed his wrath, but in the end they're just the same. The world has turned, so many have burned, but nobody is to blame.
