woa that game.... I felt like I was the only one that played it

spent weeks finding out the class I wanted to play, then finally found that human rogue was bonkers. Pretty much a ranged stealth assassin with poisons... perfect class... bu oh guess what, since your damage comes from auto attacks and what not, your skills only level up incredibly slow, like 20/5000, when summons from the summoner class leveled up 500/5000 per cast or something stupid like that.

I got bored because I couldn't level up my fucking poisons at all, but I actually really liked it, the pvp was a mess but you could spend the whole day there making people miserable.

another great game was IMAGINE, fucking dead.

>lineage 2
>WOW
>runescape
>maplestory
>aion

...

Depends what you mean by grave

NTK has like 350 players at peak times, but that still feels pretty lively. It's more about the sense of community than sheer quantity in most cases.

>WoW is dead

Only for the 43rd time

With dead I mean devoid of fun, not whether it brings in money, hell if that is your point of view you can still call it alive.

>Game starts off well with fraction vs fraction shit
>Good F2P system
>Goes full fantasy, full Jew
I use to be a mod for it and even the producer called it post-mortem gipat

>10 years later the servers are still running

RuneScape classic is still going pretty strong and has a team dedicated just to making new content for it.

RIP Runescape Old School

Loved this game so much before the p2w runes bullshit and the patronage thing, i still remember the fights between factions at the League flying ships docks or the open world pvp in Asee Teph. Really liked the game didnt had a dungeon finder, made the sense of community much stronger between players.

NCsoft seems to not dig giant robots.

>Could've had a private server by now
>NCsoft shuts them down
>'we haven't forgotten about Exteel, stay tuned for news ;^)'
>proceeds to forget the game ever existed

Project HON could have been a worthy successor, but you all know how that went.

I have all the models and animations ripped from one version of the game, I should go and track down a copy of the final version from before it shut down. I think something could be made from it in UE4 or something.

E X motherfucking S T E E L

>That Jagex mod who took a sarcastic post about autism awareness seriously

When group make up never mattered and no tanks no healers was perfectly viable as an all tank all healers or balanced group.

What became of cosmic break 2?
Still not available in english?

English service ended a while back.

New graphic engine soon.

How does it feel that NCsoft doesn't want to sell CoH just because they want to use Statesman for their next MOBA?

>remember a mmo where the gimmick was that different classes could transform into giantic fucking monsters
>you could transform individual parts of your body into mini monster parts
>That pvp where everyone transforms into giant monsters to pvp/pve
>That feeling where everyone transform as soon as the combat began started
>Mfw playing a melee dps/range dps
I can't remember the mmo but fuck that was fun anyone remember the name?

Guild Wars 1 is still around, and it could return to it's godlike status if people started playing again.

I was too stupid to enjoy SMT IMAGINE while we had it. I don't even remember why I stopped playing. Now it only lives on in memes.

At least it's Praetorian States trying to "make amends" and not Primal States. Fuck 'em though.

Jesus,I miss that shit, even if it ended up being dress up fest. It was just too god damn comfy.

haha, "soon"

it finally got it, it's not half bad, shame the game still suffers from some age issues that could have been mediated over the years, fuck i miss AO.

>Ultima Online

Probably because of the endless grind for levels.
That or the fact you had to manage skillpoints in the middle of the tutorial before they explain it to you or you're going to waste points in magic.

And then there was classes and demons becoming useless late game, which led to relearning all skills through cash shop and then grinding those up.

Also
>did 400 dungeon runs to get a possible demon extension
>not a single drop
>friend of mine is over, starts his own character
>gets it in his first run

;_;7

There are not enough angry reaction images in the world to describe how I feel about that FUCK

Dragona?

Shit, I don't even remember how I found this game, or why I played it since it was buggy as fuck, but I had fun at the time.

Is there a good Tibia server

Website says that the new engine is in open beta, so I don't count it to be out.

I have some nostalgia towards AO too, but as a gameplay experience it was crap.

Dunno, but someone made to the max level and open that door.

THANK YOU user

Trickster online anyone?

Trickster Online's aesthetics is probably one of my favourites out of any game.

That game had some cool concepts. I forget what level I got to. . .

I still don't understand how that's actually growing.
What's the appeal?

Did anyone play Dark Orbit? It was eve online lite which meant it was actually fun after a couple hours in

Still the greatest MMO ever made

Trickster was my first MMO and started my long string of downloading free MMO's, playing for a few weeks, and then dropping them. I think Flyff was probably the one I invested the most time in. Someone brought it up when I was watching Shin Chan yesterday, which was weird

>lineage 2
>aion
I hate Koreans. Watching both games fall the way they did was sad as fuck.
youtube.com/watch?v=TTRgBaYVU1A

Nostalgia chasers trying to take back some of their middle school fun to shelter themselves from their jaded adult lives.

...

The only MMO I miss.

youtube.com/watch?v=xMsjObKlRzM

>i dont like it so its a moneygrab
classic Sup Forumsermin logic

might aswell just only play morrowind and mnb

Yeah, koreans have great ideas and nice generic fantasy designs and then thrust them into this disgusting absurd grinding machine

trickster is still alive

I still regret not playing this more before it got shuttered.
Started in issue 6, even got CoV but only ever got one character to 50 (Empath/Energy Defender), sadly being a healer, even with Nova sucked solo.
Now the Dark Melee/Regeneration Scrapper that was fun, but good luck finding a group.

>tfw youre the only one left of your guild

Get out.

>tfw bought Commander supporter pack
I got the poster on the wall above my desk, to remind me every day that Mark Kern is a dumb fat faggot

>Marielx
why won't you just die already
Also stop posting in drawthreads, you are basically blacklisted and no one will ever touch your requests, stop wasting valuable posts. Make like a leaf and kill yourself please you annoying fucking spic.

Not touched Planetside 2 since the Alpha when it was clear they fucked it all up and were just using the name.

>make a guild in Everquest like 10 years ago
>military themed for vets and such
>couple guys have to go to the shitfest in middle east
>never came back

...

What? Wasn't the game shut down a few years ago?

What even happened to it in the end? Did they seriously persue that e-sports shit to the end? I remember early on it felt decently fun but a bit shallow for PVE but it was alright.

As for the topic, I barely got to try Wizardry Online despite wanting to get a bit more into it.

tales of pirates
cabal
silkroad

Are you enjoying Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood? If not, there's a free trial for FFXIV up to level 35.

MMOs aren't gone,

enjoy this period of calm before the not too distant future when humans are all drooling slaves to a virtual reality

Wizardry Online sounded neat but I bet with the harsh death mechanics it was a grief fest like any game where you can be even partially responsbile for someone losing their character/all their hard work

Your kind have been exiled to /vg/, stay there please

All I know is that PvP was gutted because Mark Kern changed the direction of the game as often as one change socks, eventually he was fired by the board of directors.

And the game was just now mercy-killed, after servers being up for some time by some poor shmuck but not allowing any new players: firefallthegame.com/

That faggot reminds me of the GW 2 fags that took over /mmo/ and kill it.

There's a thought. Has any other MMO ever copied the CoH/V sidekick system?

For those that don't know, this system allowed anyone to recruit a lower level player into their group as a sidekick which boosted their level to their mentor's level-1.

Meant even new players could join in higher level content, they were limited due to not having unlocked as many powers of course but it was usable.
Was also a similar system in place where high level players were encouraged to downlevel themselves (can't recall the term) to wipe off XP debt (your XP gains are halfed after a death for a given value of XP). Meant lower levels had more experiences players in groups than you would see normally.

>Friend farms for Ishtar plugin in JP for months
>Run Ueno Mirage with my group for the first time
>Get her plugin in my third run.

It has a private server that's pretty alive, google playtrickster.

Champions Online, but that is a given since they're made by the same company.

>Firefall
>Rusty Hearts

incredibly unpopular, jewy as fuck as well

I don't think it ever had even 100 users online, the launch was incredibly sad.

It's pretty fun during peak hours and is the only FPS game I play nowadays.

It captures the Battlefield 2 feel better than modern Battlefields. It is a bit of a grind if you want to unlock everything, though, but it's pretty fuggen good either way.

Will there ever be a MMORPG that has extreme role play capability without leveling, just skills and stat raising through grinding anything at all?

Irl doesn't count since it has perma death

Mabinogi is probably the closest you're going to get, you can level up by farming and crafting and shit

Isn't that pretty much Runescape?

Runescape, SWGemu, Mabinogi

>Irl doesn't count since it has perma death
Shows how much you know.

Turbine lied,
Dereth died.

>CoH

I miss it so much.

Fuck ncsoft and everything they do.

you got cheats?

silkroad
flyff
maplestory
lineage 2
ragnarok

Mods nigga.

Feels like i'm the only one that ever cared about this one. The pvp was top tier when the game just began in 2008, but as soon as +10's were the norm and you needed the latest newest champions to even compete it all went to shit the strategy aspect just completely died. Now with Valofe raping Nexons sloppy seconds the whole game is just dead.

Next level

Wasn´t defiance all skills and no levels?

It had high hopes

Wizardry wasn't bad but it wasn't for everyone and was destined to fail from the beginning.

You had to roll max stats at the beginning to even compete, which meant days of rolling stats for each character.

Also, Thief was literally a thief. It's skills were laying down traps, hiding, picking pockets, disarming traps and picking locks. When the game first came out, shit tons of people went to Thief thinking it was like most MMOs, only to get decapitated in combat against regular enemies.

Mages were like they were in Wizardry too. In that until much higher levels, their spells were [Map] [Sleep] [Armor] [Blind] [Armor Other] and a ranged attack spell that dealt just as much damage as whacking with your staff, which is no damage.

>a bloo bloo bloo its not a real mmo because it has instanced dungeons

HIROSHIMAAAAAAA

Do any other MMOs have in-game public Bios?
Part of the fun with CoH was the lack of any RP servers so you never knew what you would find when inspecting a character (pic related).
Good laughs were also had when you ended up with a BS/Inv Tank going full Thor-like olde-english speak throughout the entire Task Force

Still alive, I think this is its 20th year. Will outlive EQ. Might outlive WoW.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!

tfw can't figure out what MMO to play.
used to be a Heroic 25 raider in WoW but legion bums me out so hard I can't deal with the daily grind.

FFXIV was nice but I got burnt out from aether currents mid leveling in heavensward and now I can't go back and continue from where I left.

I tried BDO but it's just a grind and boring.

save me

Most of themn you have to download an add on for.

Fantastic game ruined by Aeria's greed. You can play on Vendetta but it's not the same because the population is small. I mainly miss the fantastic open world pvp with mechs.

Champions Online, but that mostly because they're from the same company. There even a tumblr for all the laughable one in the ERP site.

clubcapricebingo.tumblr.com/

Had a great time in pvp as punisher. Seemed like the easiest class to play, just hit tab and mash your skill keys.

What ever happened to the secret world?

relaunched as F2P a week ago
