He lied and constantly used the false title of "Father/Creator of Megaman" to make his kikestarted more known, and to get all those desperate MM fans who had just been left in the dust by Capcom. He, at no point, ever clarified to people that all he did was just draw pictures of Megaman, he just led people to believe that he physically created the actual games themselves.

Then as soon as he makes millions, he opens up ANOTHER kikstarter. Of course everyone finally snapped back into reality after seeing MN9 and all regretted it.

He didn't stop it or clarify. He let them do that, he went on interviews for articles, and not once did he bother to clear up the misunderstanding. He knew it was all free publicity and let it happen because he knew he would make more money that way.
