Well, in the end the PS1 fanboys were right.
PS1 outsold the N64 by 3x and got a vastly more diverse library of games with nearly all 3rd party support jumping ship to them. N64 had a strong top10 but once you go beyond the classics there's not much there, while on PS1 you could be 50 games deep and the 51st would still be great.

pic related is actually a disservice, there's so much good shit not mentioned, the list can easily double without a drop in quality.

Plus it wasn't limited to cartoony bullshit. Playstation had more mature games. Twisted Metal was way cooler than Mario Kart.
