you're fuckign mother is bad gamme design
haha
>laughing at your own bad jokes
If we're talking about bad game design, why does nobody ever mention this utter fucking trash?
>being this triggered
>they're somersaulting at the wall and jumping off of it
>gee, I wonder how I can do that
Did you need a QTE?
>Much like a dog salivating at the sound of a dinner bell, the autist's immediate reaction to hearing an opinion it doesn't like is memes and condescension
>hold down run button to run
>this has been the standard for over 30 years of video game
>get on Rambi in Returns and Tropical Freeze
>LOL MASH UNRELATED BUTTONS TO RUN
>-s-stop refuting my point!
You refuted nothing. I said a part of a game was shit, your response was to spout memes.
Are you a retard? OP pic is bullshit but the game is literally showing you exactly what to do. If you don't have the patience to figure out which button to press for it, maybe video games aren't the right hobby for you? I hear being a movie buff is fun.
ITT: Bad thread design
Film IS an objectively better medium, if that's what you're implying.
Why does Sup Forums get so triggered with this pic? Literally nothing in the game hints you to drop a power bomb in a fucking glass to see if it breaks.
I like the game, but this is just plain bad design
Retard filter thread?
get good.
I'm still mad over the barrel, it took me a couple years to figure it out.
As bad as the bait is, I'm genuinely surprised you got as many bites as you did.
Give yourself a gold star, user. That was very clever and original.
HOW?
I knew what to do and I was like 4 when I played that game. You are literally dumber than a 4 year old.
>map clearly shows you can go up and down from that room
>music changes abruptly in that hallway signifying that this is majorly different somehow
>don't ever even have to break the glass to complete the game
It was just a cool shortcut you retard.
there is always this guy
stop it, we know you failed at it too
>hm, all these tubes i'm passing look like they're broken. i wonder what's up with that.
>oh, this one isn't broken. didn't i recently get an upgrade that can break things?
That's the thought process for 99% of people, and you ahve to be literally autistic to not pick up on the context clues. Were you in special ed or something?
The sad thing is I bet the retards who couldn't figure this out still cry about games today being "too casual," despite their inability to solve an incredibly basic puzzle in a game for children.
You have to break the glass to complete the game.
I swear, I have seen this part been posted on Sup Forums so much that when I decided to pick up Super Metroid for the first time and I encountered the glass tubem I immediately used the super bomb.
This I was like 8 years old when I first beat SM a child can figure this out.
The animals are teaching you what to do.
The animals in this game always teach you what to do when you are in a stuck area.
no you dont
you can enter maridia from the wrecked ship
Good for you, want a cookie?
Not him, but I played it as a kid (like 8 years old maybe) and don't remember having any trouble with it. However I also had a Sonic 3 strategy guide I bought from Blockbuster, but I'm like 99% sure I got it after already beating the game.
You can, but it's a dead end that exists solely to show you the broken tubes. It contains no items and is completely optional to go to.
>Enter Maridia through the Wrecked Ship side
>Level design eventually funnels you down to the map room; there are no other routes to Draygon unless you exploit some glitches.
>Map shows that the areas you can't reach are connected to the tube room.
>Near the map room is also a pair of tube holder things sans tube.
>A couple rooms from the map and you're dropped down near the tube.
If stupid 6 year old me was able to figure this out two decades ago an adult player has no excuse.
>ITT: Casual filters guest starring OP as "the casual"
fix'd
OP, most of us beat this game at 7. It's not difficult. You're just stupid.
>loss.jpg
I just played the game with the specific intent of seeing if you could avoid this, going absolutely everywhere before bombing it. It is absolutely required.
What can I say? I was like 5 and jumping seemed like it would work since the barrel kept going up & down when timed right, I thought I was simply bad at timing the jumps. Clearly now to me that's not what you're supposed to do but back then I had no idea up & down even did anything besides pan the camera (and help spindash), it's not like any other level mechanics forced you to use up & down on their things prior to that zone (hell, I don't even think Sonic 1 or 2 forced you to use them) and every other barrel in the zone wasn't forced upon you. So yeah, due to this I just kept replaying the first 3 zones of the game for a couple years since I found them fun still.
Hilariously, i finished the game 3 times before even knowing you could break that glass tube, its not required in any way as the main entrace to maridia is from the wrecked ship that is "a must" since you get the gravity suit there. Youre just trying to force your idea even if its completely wrong.
If there was a visible crack on the tube, I probably would have tried breaking it.
I assumed it was a non-interactive object, since I couldn't recall any examples of similar structures in the game being destructible.
Do us all a favor and plot out your route.
I'd be willing to believe that I missed the way to get to if from the wrecked ship, even though I searched a long time. Like the other user said, I just thought it was a dead end. I'd like to see a video of getting to the boss part of Maridia from the wrecked ship side.
We like to call this term 'Play Conditioning'
...
The map clearly shows there are no limits on both vertical limits of the screen, and there's also an enemy walking on the outside of the path, the game never shows enemies inside unreachable areas.
>playing SM games for the first time
>notice tubes are broken
>come across other tube
>see pathway going down
>this one must break too
>try all my weapons
>none work
>get super bomb
>go back and use it on glass
It's really not that fucking hard
I was still a sperm inside my balls and I knew what to do. You are literally dumber than a sperm.
Yes, well done, you've marked the starting point. Now do the route.
You also need to mash the button to long roll.
You're a fucking idiot.
I hate how pixel perfect you have to be with this shit.
It's not like the Wall jump breaks the game any more than Bomb jumping does.
I can do something better, show you that any random guy can do maridia easily and realize about the tube.
I figured this out pretty easily, but mostly because I learned to power bomb every room ever when I played Fusion.
Did you ever think that maybe someone making a video titled "100% walkthrough" might already fucking know the game's content before making the video?
I knew it was breakable because there's a ledge outside of it
He breaks the tube in that video though. That's not the problem. The problem is that you said the game can be completed without breaking the tube, which is actually impossible. If you fucking look at the map, you can see that there is a single route that leads you back to the tube if you enter Maridia from the Wrecked Ship, with the rest of Maridia blocked off until you break it. You're a lying tripfag who has probably never actually beaten the game because you're too busy begging people to draw your stupid anime avatar in drawthreads.
>the state of kids today
Heh, i like how you are straying from the argument of having to break the glass is 100% required to beat the game, your cowardice entertains me.
That the roll mechanic changes when you get Diddy Kong is pretty retarded, yeah.
>the tube isn't required to get through maridia
>post your route if that's possible then
>nah i'll post a video of someone going through maridia breaking the tube
>that guy who got btfo the fuck out by a tripfag
What if it was transparent because you would pass behind it later?
I mean, there's obviously content outside of this walkway too, but this walkway is completely unbreakable.
Just because you can see more content doesn't me it's accessible from that vantage point, sometimes you just have to go around.
>Not laying a bomb every time you see an opening in the map to discover secret routes
wew lad
???
>video shows broken tube leading to the map room
>pathway leads to the tube
>player bombs the tube
You can reach the top and bottom sides of that before going through the center.
He was right though. You being dumb isn't bad game design.
then using my weapons wouldn't have worked to break it
I guess "know" was the wrong word, but seeing the ledge made me try to break it
...the video you linked has him break the tube though?
I like how you haven't fucking drawn a route on the map of Maridia about how you go about skipping it. because you fucking can't
If you actually try, watch out for the green super missile gate and also for the silver doors that don't open until you kill Draygon
I hate this youtube era.
?
I don't think the music changes there
Yeah. The point is that the game can't be completed without breaking the tube. So the guy in that video broke the tube. Is this hard to understand?
Honestly if the broken tube was a dead end, I'd have thought to put a power bomb there
WAIT A MINUTE THAT TUBE
Are you all retarded? Holy shit
I don't see how that means the situation doesn't teach the lesson of "sometimes you have to go around"
If you fall on the spot that brings you close to the brinstar zone its only a matter of looking at them map to know where you are, if you are extremely dumb to not think about the tube, you can perfectly go back the long way while you think "oh god nintendo is the master of trolling because he made me such a dick move without a way back", or the third option that is ragequit and make a thread on Sup Forums.
Ahahahahahahaha
SOMEONE SAID TUBES?!
Draw a fucking line faggot, someone even posted the map so you don't have to find it yourself
>played through SM for the first time recently
>make my way through Maridia
>get to the room just before the miniboss
>scan the area, can't find a way through the barriers to the door at the end of the room
>end up backtracking through the rest of Maridia again, find a bunch of upgrades but can't find where to go
>go back to that room
>realize I can just run through the barriers
>when I scanned them the first time I thought I couldn't run through because the arrow icon was pointing the opposite direction
holy shit I am a fucking moron
TUUUUUUUUUUBES
never played sanic explain pls
You are a fucking retard. Kill yourself so that you never post here again.
...
Not only does that wall not extend all the way to the floor, so you can go under it (slowly because of quicksand) but if you scanned, you would have also seen the high path that leads to the energy tank and can be accessed with bomb jumping or springball.
Sonic 3 is an inferior sequel to Sonic 2.
THis place gave me nightmares back then
But cool ones. I don't think they should be called nightmares but something-unsettling-Maridia like dreams
TOOOOOBS!
>Being surprised people don't think to blow up a tube using a power bomb
>In a game where every single tile you can blow up has a fucking graphic of the weapon you're supposed to use
I find it hilarious when people compare it to the Bioshock Infinite puzzle when the entire rest of the game is a loud ugly "WAIT A MINUTE THAT POWER UP" moment.
"WHAT'S THIS BLOCK?"
"OH, SUPER MISSILE, GOTCHA."
It doesn't. Those three Maridia rooms use the Red Brinstar music.
...
>before

>also a few videos of self-appointed experts/personalities over-analyzing the game trying to find validation
>"well it actually was kinda easy, but I must confess to you my imaginary audience this game is full of bad game design practices, see the tone they are trying to pull off doesn't really match the gamefeel the game as a whole portraits, the level design is atrocious and ignores long time established trends that are common through the entire gamerealm space per se, such an inferior demonstration of development resource allocation didn't really deserve any of my valuable time so I completely regret playing it"
>Everywhere else

You're welcome
Bomb jumping is just as hard if not harder to pull off.
The entire rest of the game trains you to bomb everywhere anyway.
So people try there anyway.
Even if they can't break through, that doesn't mean the training has suddenly been undone.
You keep bombing elsewhere.
You can't legitimately be this retarded.
Exactly? There's no logic to what can and cannot be destroyed with Samus' arsenal. After a couple hours you just accept it as dumb game logic. The game is about hunting for those tiles which, by the way, is not particularly fun.
Fuck that barrel, literally. Bullshit game design
This is bad game design in regards to only power bombs, which have limited ammo.
I knew what do do at the tube because the attract mode demo spoiled it for me.
I love watching demos in arcades, and again I look for them on my console games.
Guess youngins today don't have that feel.
>limited ammo is bad game design
...
