it's the poor, cheap character model/design & repeating the same boring series of frames that turned me off.

with Kite and MF, scenes were short with frequent jump cuts, but the repeating frames didn't overstayed its welcome. at times, we can see the character subtly shifting their weights or reacting to the thrusts in a way. i liked that. they felt "alive" in a sense, not like the dead fish i frequently see getting fucked, overacting with their moans.

In my experience, western artists seem more prone to wild inconsistencies. With porn doujins, most of the artist's have a general baseline of quality, although their kinks/fetishes are usually stupid (old men, fat men, NTR, etc). With western artists, you'll find a high quality artist sharing a booru page with some autist's MS-Paint shit, and some other autist's furry porn that's drowned in awful fucking shading with minimal understanding of anatomy. Also, attractive faces are apparently a huge challenge for western artists, with a tendency to go for a semi-realistic look, and ending up with some abortion in the uncanny valley.

Western artist's reputations would improve dramatically if shitters would stop posting their awful fucking scribbles, basically.

I agree with this, but by far the worst is when a good artist decides to ignore the fans that he/she has and only draws shit that they get commissioned for.
