neither. dawn of sorrow becau of the weapon systum!!

Personally, I prefer Aria of Sorrow, but I hot to give a lot of respect to Symphiny of the Night. Both are good.

This is the last time I phone-post. Holy shit.

Symphony

Better OST, main character and graphicxsx

Sotn is amazing but AoS plays better.

...

Both.

neither, Dawn is superior despite the character art for dialogue being bad.

it has by far the best castle in the series except maybe Portrait of Ruin, because that one is so vast due to the painting system.

I choose Greatest CastleKino Ever.

Dog shit

Remastered metroidvania PS4 collection when?

...

LOL

>AoS plays better
Fucking how?

>despite the character art for dialogue being bad.
Fixable nowadays.

Souls

...

I just didn't like the GBA/DS castlevanias. I'm not asking for a complete revamp between games, but to me it just felt like you played one you played them all.

Portrait of Ruin.
Castlevania 1 blows every metroidvania out of the water though.

I prefer Aria. Wasn't this the first Castlevania to have New Game+? That feature combined with the soul system, chaos ring, and exclusive hard mode items to find made for a really satisfying game to explore and replay. I also love how surreal the environment and concept is, as well as how great the plot is.

Symphony does have a better Belmont Mode though. Julius is great and the fight against him is sooooo much better than Alucard vs Richter, but playable Richter has a lot more options.

Aria of Sorrow.

Aria. SotN is fantastic but the soul system is peerless.

That horrible american SotN cover always cracks me up.

Aria.

Hey man, don't hate on Le Mont Saint Michel. It's majestic.

foot it, cab it, Iron Horse it
You're leaving on your face, forfeit

JONATHAN!

Wrong image?

Both.

Noob, doesnt even having natural winter defense.

Dawn's castle is a cluttered fucking mess compared to SotN, AoS, or CotM. The only one that was even more cluttered was HoD.

>We will never get the 1999 CV game
I hate this timeline

I was going to post the euro cover but I knew some faggot would try to be clever with
>the one that's not PAL

>tfw there will never be another classic platformer castlevania game, and half of the old ones out there are shit/mediocre

>there will never be another classic platformer castlevania game
There's enough of them out there. I'm even fine with no new Castlevanias ever.
>half of the old ones out there are shit/mediocre
Top pleb. 1, 3, 4, Bloodlines, and Rondo are all great.

The only bad classic Castlevanias are Adventure, Legends, and Simon's Quest.

>There's enough of them out there. I'm even fine with no new Castlevanias ever.
die monster, you don't belong in this world

>Top pleb. 1, 3, 4, Bloodlines, and Rondo are all great.
yeah, they are and i love them all dearly
i was referring more to dracula x, castlevania II, the gb ones, haunted castle, etc.

i guess most people dont even consider those but im so starved for another classic castlevania game that i do

Aria

CotM

...

You guys should check hollow knight. I have been playing for mora than 15 hours so far.

Dracula X, Chronicles and Belmont's Revenge are pretty good.

>that art
You can tell that Konami stopped giving a shit about Castlevania.

...

Super Castlevania IV

no, dat's gay

Anime saga. This and Dawn of Sorrow suffered from it. Still great games but glad OoE went back to the old style.

Is SoTN hardtype from emuparadise any good?

...

It's just a prank, bro.

Just play both if you like the style, try OoE too and hell play Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin if you aren't bothered by muh animu style.
All of them are great games.

>everyone and their mothers say SotN is best Castlevania
>AVGN says his favorite is Super Castlevania IV
>suddenly everyone start to parrot him
I mean, he's not wrong. It's an awesome game but holy fuck. No love for Aria?

Does that guy still post on /vr/?

As limited as Aria was by the hardware I still enjoy it more. The entire story concept is so unique and cool and some of the enemy designs blow the rest of the series out of the water.

That said my favorites are Dawn and Portrait.

>castlevania comes out on netflix
>talk of the series i revived
nice

They are different genres.
IMO,
Classicvanias:
Rondo>C3>CIV
Metroidvanias:
SoTN, Aria, Dawn and OoE are all great.

But I'm not saying it's the best because some fuckwad said so, I'm saying it's the CASUALIST CASLTELUDO EVER.

Those are some goat sprites.

I would've loved was bloodstained was sprite based and not that shitty 3D look.

Konami was actully talking with nintendo about making a new castlevania game a few months ago

Aria of Sorrow is a lot more polished.

>WHY HAVEN'T THEY MADE A CLASSICVANIA SINCE SYMPHONY

Did noone play The Adventure Rebirth? That shit was awesome.

Bloodstained still plays amazing, though. Feels like Aria/Dawn. I can agree on the sprites, for sure.

SotN is ridiculously good. It objectively is one of the best games ever made. I still go back to it regularly, and try out new challenges and run ideas.

That being said, I think Rondo of Blood is my favorite Castlevania. It's just got so much style and blood pumping action, with absurd amounts of alternate routes and secrets. There's just so much pure fun to be had with Rondo, whereas SotN can get a bit mindless as soon as you're powered up.

I also think Castlevania 1 is a perfect NES game. I love throwing it on during a lazy sunday afternoon and blasting through it. Can't be beat.

My only complaint with Aria is the first four bosses are just normal ass enemies pulled from later in the game.

No. Always wanted to but I don't own a Wii. l've got a Wii U, can I grab it with that?

Would you?

castlevania IV has the same diffivulty as C3 or C1. CIV just doesnt have awful controls

And Legends. And Chronicles. And Dracula X Chronicles.

I'm not a fan of metroid's design so i didn't particularly enjoy SoTN and everything that came after it, i enjoyed 1 and Rondo a lot, Bloodlines and IV were great too.

Legends was shit just like the other two GB CVs, Chronicles is just a remake, and Dracula X is also just a remake.

>MAGA hat

Kill yourself nigger.

>just like the other two GB CVs

Hey, you leave Belmont's Revenge alone.

SOTN>AoS>DoS
They're all 10/10 but Dawn gets the bottom of the three because fuck soul grinding in that game, I genuinely ragequit with how long it took grinding souls, only to find out the best weapons require you use boss souls, so I didn't pick it back up until 2 years later.

Still classicvanias. And both were remakes of games that were never released outside of Japan (heck, the X68000 itself was never released outside of Japan) so "new" for most people.

Have to go with SOTN because the animation and visual style is better and the extra weapons are way more creative and interesting. Are they necessary? No, but neither are over half of the souls and weapons in Aria of Sorrow, either.

Dawn of Sorrow (not picced) is closer, but was completely ruined by the shitty touch screen stuff. And unfortunately will always be ruined because after DS's disappear emulation is even more annoying to have to use the touch shit. If there is a way to map the right analog stick to it, then maybe but the bosses would still be impossible to make work without some kind of macro or just using the mouse.

Dumb princess.

Symphony also has some replay value with items. I think there is a ring and maybe some other drops that only unlock in second playthrough (meaning you have at least one completed playthrough on the memory card).

The only issue l have with Dawn is it's shit final boss. So boring and bland. Julius mode however. Best boss.

cv2 on gameboy is as good as a gameboy castlevania could have been

>a console game vs. a handheld game
Gee I fucking wonder.

Okay you're both right, I booted it up and yeah it's alright. Guess my opinion was just skewed by how shit 1 and Legends were.

It's okay everyone has their opinion, I like playing Rondo.

Did you play Odallus? It makes a good compromise between having metroidvania and just traditional castlevania gameplay. It's level based, but you have different unlock areas similar to Super Mario World.

Grab the lua scripts for CV2 and it's actually pretty good.

Not that guy but that game is like a really lousy Castlevania. Better off replaying one of them instead of that game.

yeah 1 and Legends are awful, though 1 has the excuse of having been rushed out the door to be one of the gameboy launch titles at least, but I still skip both of them whenever I marathon the entire series

SoTN and Super Metroid are the most poorly balanced, poorly designed pieces of shit ever made.

Aria of Sorrow is definitely and improvement mechanics-wise.

>I could pee in a bucket and see if he'll drink my pee, senpai.
Yeah, she definitely wanted to bang him

I highly doubt you've spent much time with Belmont's Revenge if you're going to lump it with the other two gb CVs

What about animation wise?

I understand the first game being awful but what the hell happened with Legends?

>this shit opinion
Aria is just as "poorly" balanced. Most of the enemies hardly fucking fight back. The game is a fucking joke outside of maybe Death if you climb early. But that's the beauty of these games, make your own challenge.

I'm excited for the awkward sexual tension between all three members of the group.

>Trevor and Alucard want to beat each other up again
>Sypha can't handle how impossibly handsome Alucard is
>Trevor and Sypha find each other annoying but lovable

It's gonna be great.

haha dumb mobile poster

>love triangle
not this meme again. Why does every decent show have to do this shit?

nigga don't forget Grant

Well not bad huh?

>They meet Grant
>Grant wants to do Da Nasty

WORST CASTLEKINO EVER
