Good taste.

absolutely abysmal taste user
Agreed, should have switched Morrowind and Oblivion around
wronk
morrowblivion
Skyrim is shit (Into_the_Garbage.jpg)
While Morrowind has a better story, world, Magic(vanilla) it's mechanics are much too dated. Oblivion retains enough classic rpg mechanics, while using modern action mechanics to be considerably a more enjoyable experience. Dark Souls is however my favorite series DaS1>DeS>DaS3>>BB>>>>DaS2
WHY
Enjoy your wonk ass mechanics friend
lmao
Morrowind>Skyrim=Daggerfall>Oblivion>Arena
>Skyrim not at the least liked
You're disgusting
It was a great snowy walking simulator. The only reason why it's at the same level of Daggerfall is because of the world generation in that one.
Absolutely correct.
Skyrim did everything Oblivion did but better.
They're both inferior to Morrowind as RPG games, but as action games Skyrim > Oblivion by a landslide.
Morrowind > Daggerfall >>> Skyrim >> Oblivion
Arena doesn't count.
This is correct.
You cannot refute this.
>Skyrim >> Oblivion
It's like you're retarded or something
I like Oblivion because it's a good mix of action/RPG. Skyrim's too much action, they dumb down the mechanics too much. The only thing it did better were graphics, Archery, & melee combat. I don't want Elder Scrolls to be a full fledged RPG, nor do I want a full fledged action game.
I'd rather have a superior game with a beautiful and interesting world but shitty quests over a game with a bunch of ok quests but the worst gameworld ever and terrible gameplay, that tries to mix RPG and action but the RPG elements only work to drag down the action to a slapstick LARP simulator.
Daggerfall > Oblivion >>> Skyrim >>>> Morrowind*
The RPG elements don't hold it down any way, mods are a testament to that.
Turns out the first mod wasn't from nexus
>beautiful and interesting world
>Skyrim
...
But they do.
>classes
The only usefulness of them is to build your character in a way that you can control your level ups and cheat the autoscaling. Otherwise the game will eventually devolve into having every fight being a 2-minute shitfest where you just stand idle and spam attacks.
Skyrim replaced that system with a more fluid and organic one that adjusts to your playstyle. Your most leveled skills contribute most to the level up, which means that you define your class through your playstyle, not artificially through a screen.
>birthsigns
Skyrim didn't got rid of these
>attributes
They are the base of the broken level up system of Oblivion. To level up efficiently you need to get those +5/+5/+5 which restricts the skill increases and in turn, your whole playstyle.
>m-muh skills
Most skills were just transferred into perks, like the mace/sword/axe specializations (which by the way makes it better than Oblivion, since blunt skill encompasses both axes and maces for some fucked up reason).
>but m-muh mods
Sure, mods fix everything, except the fact that Oblivion is also the shittiest TES to mod, requiring you the higher amount of third-party software and tampering to get something near stability.
And all of that, for what? What is the saving grace of the game? The quests. Yes, the saving grace of the game are the quests that are absolutely scripted with almost always one unique outcome. Which means that once you've done them, you have no reason to ever replay them again. What's left is a game with shitty RPG elements, shitty combat, shitty world, shitty lore, and shitty dungeons.
If you like Skyrim or Oblivion and hate the other, you might have some form of autism. They are practically the same game but with a different aesthetic.
...
Playing a better game like Morrowind or Skyrim
they also have different gameplay
ok guys, lets do this
Install Morroblivion.
they do not
they are both mouse 1 simulators where all the weapons feel like they are pool toys
The opinions in this thread are so bad that I wish I could give everybody here cancer, even if it meant being affected myself. The problem with anonymous posting is that you can't filter messages. Nobody who praises Skyrim will ever say anything worth reading in their lives but I still have to come across their retarded babbling sometimes. What a nightmare.
Morrowind have dice roll gameplay
Oblivion is a game propeled up by memes and nostalgia.
It's completely undeserving of its status.
It's just a terrible game.
>except the fact that Oblivion is also the shittiest TES to mod, requiring you the higher amount of third-party software and tampering to get something near stability
You're not doing it right.
>oblivion retains enough classic rpg mechanics
nice b8 m8
>Otherwise the game will eventually devolve into having every fight being a 2-minute shitfest where you just stand idle and spam attacks.
Someone wasn't good at oblivion
>Skyrim didn't got rid of these
yeah, they replaced them with stones that you change at a whim, a bit casual but I don't mind the extra freedom.
>To level up efficiently you need to get those +5/+5/+5 which restricts the skill increases and in turn, your whole playstyle.
I never had a problem with this, it's not a hard game. Even on higher difficulty it's pretty easy.
>m-muh muh perks
Go play some shitty action game then
>Oblivion is also the shittiest TES to mod
Not oblivion's fault you're a computer illiterate twat
>And all of that, for what? What is the saving grace of the game? The quests. Yes, the saving grace of the game are the quests that are absolutely scripted with almost always one unique outcome. Skyrim to a T
>and terrible gameplay, that tries to mix RPG and action but the RPG elements only work to drag down the action to a slapstick LARP simulator.
Are we still talking about Oblivion or Skyrim too? Because almost every single flaw present in 3D TES games appears in Skyrim, and more so in some areas since the amount of dungeon-delving and quests around fighting something makes you have to suffer through the shitty combat more so than any of its predecessors.
this post right here
skyrim fixed oblivions wrongs, neither are actual RPG's but skyrim did a polished action "bethesda" game a million times better
I fucking hate morrowind combat
you got a morrowind one? My toaster can't run oblivion :L
Skyrim was fucking garbage, & you have objectively shit taste if you like it. It's the equivalent of Fallout 4 being your favorite Fallout.
Classical Oblivionshitter post.
>n-never had any problem with it, despite being the biggest flaw of the game that was the main reason people shat on the game when it came out, when I was too underage to post her
>you must be computer illiterate, despite the fact that I never said I had any problem with it, just that it's objectively the most unstable TES out of the three modern ones, it has all the performance issues of Morrowind (while not looking near as pretty as a modded Morrowind) while needing most of the modern tools like Wrye Bash to make a stable setup.
There has never been a good post made with a reaction image of that shitty show.
>every counter argument is "w-well I liked it!"
yup pretty much oblivion fans in a nutshell
The problem with the dice rolls with morrowind is it is in first person and not an isometric. Something is lost between the two, where you could make the assumption that your character missed in the top down, in the first person it just seems ridiculous when it looks like it connected.
oblivion
>copy paste world
>copy paste npcs
>five voice actors
>every town has same landmarks making every one functionally the same shit
>only four types of dungeons all of which look the same and offer zero variety in their layouts (probably due to ONE guy making all of them)
face it, oblivion was the elder scrolls held hostage and then neutered for "next gen" consoles
demwaifus.blogspot.com
There are only about a dozen or two 'essential' mods but lots of good stuff. Ask me anything I know pretty much everything about modding the game.
b-but skyrim was ugly!
b-but skyrim npcs were worse!
b-but skyrim towns were small!
b-but skyrim dungeons were corridors!
b-but muh quests
Here you have, his next reply condensed in 5 lines.
It didn't bother me too much but I wouldn't replay it.
I probably wouldn't replay oblivion or skyrim either actually
It's what really stops me. I can put up with a certain level of graphical jank (I love how the Morrowind modders have made everything look great but the fucking character models and animations), but it's the combat. The actual gameplay. It's so funny to me where people give games shit for looking great and having great presentation but boring gameplay, and yet people suck off Morrowind all the time. If I wanted to read that much while not enjoying some cool gameplay, I'd just read a book. Otherwise it's a fucking chore to play these days. It's so stiff compared to anything I'm used to.
[insert tes game here]
>copy paste world
>copy paste npcs
>five voice actors
>every town has same landmarks making every one functionally the same shit
>only four types of dungeons all of which look the same and offer zero variety in their layouts (probably due to ONE guy making all of them)
>why are games allowed to have text?
>if I wanted to read I would pick a book
Antimorrowindfags confirmed americans once again.
...
It's about time for another playthrough.
As a modder I know how much of a pain it is to type the titles of objects so here I am just thinking about some fucking freak typing all of this out.
>tfw fucking elder scrolls steals unique quest idea from Gothic but gets all the credit
Why can't this series die?
Rolling.
...
You can't attack while jumping, you have no acrobatics, you can't attack underwater, you can't jump on water, the quests are objectively worse, the voice acting is worse, there's less clothing variety, there's less building variety, the world is smaller, the game isn't as easy to mod, I could go on.
>You know what's great in a game? Real fun? Broken dice roll combat behind a first person visual
>If I wanted gameplay I would have played an action game like Skyrim
(You)
Skyrim
>handcrafted world with distinct holds that are ACTUALLY distinct in their assets (not just pathetic re-colors of the same grass texture)
>infinitely more voice actors with distinct voices for nearly every questline (on top of generic voice lines for every race)
>every town stylistically different from one and other each with its own political standing in the war
>at least SIX types of dungeons each handcrafted with unique items, boss enemy encounters, quests, npcs etc. (no chests randomly placed around like the themepark of oblivion)
as long as Bethesda and their 100 barter is around, never ever
shame nobody ever made melee fun with a mod because it is clearly the best game
...
It's funny, because all tes games including Morroshit have those issues. At least later games make the majority of their copy-paste dungeons large.
Running around Morrowind, I was actually shocked to find that all the copy-paste dungeons of that game were by far and large maybe 1/4 the size of a typical Oblivion dungeon, with a lot of them being not even more then a single fucking room. Yeah, it's really epic and awesome to enter a fucking tomb, and there's literally just a single room with a few urns and maybe 2 creatures to fight.
...
...
let's see what we get
I know this is a b8 image but seriously, looking at numbers on a spreadsheet is not the way to judge a game's quality in the slightest
one look at oblivion's world design is evidence enough
There was an old Oblivion general regular who was obsessed with fisticuffs. Here's his mod list:
h2h
>Handtohand Advanced: You can now knock out and knock down your opponents.
>Doc dodge: You can now dodge by side stepping instead of mashing a key
>Deadly reflex 5: You can now punch off heads or limbs, and you get a neat dodge roll
>MOBS: Enhances all weapons, but is especially useful for hand to hand. It enhances damage a bit, but adds a ton of fatuge damage. And thanks to hand to hand advanced, you'll knock people down, or out more often.
>Adrenilne fuled combat: Locational damage, punch mages in the head to make them dumber (lower mana), Hit warriors in the right arm to lessen their weapon skill (damage) or their left arm (reduces block) combo chains, see your damage and a lot more.
>Realistic Blocking: This is good for surviving since you lack a weapon. A hand to hand skill of 100% should negate 99% of the damage done to you.
Optional, since this will make you over powered:
>Fistycuffs: Gain 4 fighting styles, poision your hands, wear gauntlets for sheer damage, gain arcane bracers for punching ghosts, or doing magic baised on your mana bar.
>Combat magic: While its technicly a magical mod, It has benifits for hand to handers. It boosts hand to hand damage by an insane ammount, you can press as and d all at once to get a ghost form which makes you invunrable, but kills all your mana quickly, you get a cool energy sheild that completly negates arrows, ball spells, and mele attacks. But eats your mana per hit, and you can be hit from the side or behind.
Nah, Skyrim is "pretty", better NPC (looks, & Voice actors)
The towns are fucking small
I actually prefer the entrance design for dungeons in skyrim
Oblivion's quest are better, I also prefer the atmosphere of Cyrodil. I'm Central-European centric
this post right here
skyrim if anything is a call back to morrowind's world/dungeon design, where shit actually makes sense within the context of the world, something oblivion threw out the fucking window for normie bucks
Plus if you include Morroblivion in the list, the list becomes a moot point anyway.
Also don't know what he was talking about, you can attack underwater with Oblivion. Unless he was referring to Skyrim.
Oh, and if you include Arena and Daggerfall in the list, then Morrowind would get exposed as being as every bit as casual as and simplified as later games. Truth is, TES games keep getting simpler and more casual with each game since the very beginning. There's no single game at fault for making shit more casual.
Going atronach birthsign preferably with breton has a shit start but gets insanely strong once you have 100 alchemy
Stacking spell absorb and reflect with that kind of setup is hilarious but its probably not a good choice for a pure mage though
I was talking about Morrowind, but thanks.
There wouldn't happen to be a mod that lets me cast touch or range spells while punching something, would there?
Skyrim>Skyrim Special Edition>Skyrim VR>ES Legends Skyrim>Oblivion>>>>>Morrowind
Tell me lies Todd, tell me dem arousing lie
You did Pre-order Skyrim VR right?
