It's easier to weed out the extremely bad players by having item level requirements even though everybody's scaled down
It's really easy to get to 900 item level, if you're below that people aren't gonna take you seriously even if it's an alt.

timewalking is a mechanic where you get to do old raids again, you will be scaled down in level and gear appropriate to the expansion but the loot you get will be appropriate to what your actual character level is.
perviously we only had dungeons to timewalk. bt is the first raid we get to timewalk. its a big deal because black temple is considered to be one of the best raids blizzard ever made. plus it drops failry good gear.

so you're level 70 again doing black temple with black temple level gear
Oh that's cool. FFXIV has level scaling already but most people just run the old raids "unsync" (So at level 70 with ilevel 300). I hope they do something like that with the first raids in the game (where they throw you current ilvl gear for doing this old content, or make the bosses a higher ilvl. Some of the old mechs are fun as fuck.)
