Now that I've played 2B's game.

Should I watch a longplay of NieR?

you should play Papa Niers game

Route A isn't the whole game moron

when are they going to just give us replicant?

>he hasn't played Nier before Automata

Good job ruining your experience, idiot.

Question. I can buy it now on PC or I can wait for my PS4 to come back in around a month and buy it there. It's more expensive on PS and I don't have controller for PC.
Which is best?

>wanting twink version

use your ps4 controller on your pc

>not wanting to play another version of a game
>being a weak, insecure beta to even bring up the word twink
kek kekkers

>played

i only watched her porn

...

Yeah except I gave my ps4 away with dualshocks duh

github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit/releases

i'm playing on PC with zero mods and it's working fine -- but how do i make it better? my fps ranges from mid-40's to early 50's

FAR and borderless gaming. Change graphics settings directly from your GPU. I haven't played in a while but a few of the settings in game are straight up broken, like v-sync for example.

No. You should just play NieR. It's literally my favorite game of all time. It took like 20 years to dethrone Secret of Mana, but NieR did it.

Why would you want the censored version?

Holy fuck this is the shittiest taste on Sup Forums

>PC dick suckers have such a lack of games to play they have to watch playthroughs on youtube

>Nier 1 isn't on the ps store and I can't find a physical version anywhere
Just kill me familia

I don't understand why faggots like you post this. Do you think you'll magically make his tastes change? Do you think he'll feel shame for liking it? Are you just looking to start a festival of shitposts?

What's your endgame?

It's uncommon, but not rare. You can typically find it for 20-30 bucks on Amazon. Price is all over the place on ebay.

Hell, my friend walked into a FUCKING GAMESTOP and got a used one with a generic case for 14 dollars.

Nier is also one of my favorite games of all time.

And you know what else
Drakengard 1 is also one of the greatest games of all time

What now you lil bitch

>amazon.com/NIER-Playstation-3/dp/B002BRYIJY/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1499845557&sr=1-2&keywords=nier

That was sure hard.

Maximum hipster

>17 bucks for shipping
It's still better than paying 120 yurodollars for the version on my local amazon, thank you user

Happy I could help.

If having my own opinion on something is hipster, then sure I guess I am.

Drakengard follows through on its premise and characters in every way possible. From the visuals, writing, characters, music and gameplay. It's all one horrible clusterfuck because it's supposed to be and because of that, it's great.

Tell me about some videogames you like user.

No go and play it. You should have played it before Automata ideally

No, fuck you.

Will it get any DLC or not?

I walked into a random Gamestop in my shitty little town and walked out with near pristine used copies of Nier and Drakengard 3 last week.

Will what get DLC? Both NieR and NieR: Automata already have DLC.

As someone who owns D3, I'm sorry for your waste of money.

I have both PS3 and X360 versions. On disc. Fuck yeah.

Do you have NieR Replicant? I've been thinking about importing a copy.

No, I don't speak Nintendo. Why would you play with that kid, anyway? Old Nier is the best Nier.

It's more for collection's sake than for playings sake. I have no interest in playing the censored moon version.

Drakengard 3 is worth it for the last boss alone

Never played Drakengard, but now I want to, even though it got bad scores. Do I need to play first 2 to understand the story in 3rd?

...

No, but there's some things that will mean more to you if you played the first one. You can pretty much disregard the second game

Trannies should all get logic virus and die.

thx

Oh well, might as well emulate it on PC. (the first one, I mean)

3rd is a prequel, although certain weapons have some spoiler potential in them.

2nd game has shit story, but the gameplay in Extreme is top notch. Shame you have to beat the game twice to actually have fun with it.

Drakengard 1 emulates horribly.

if the superior version had come out, i would have played that first. fuck that horrible old man model, i aint playing grandpas game.

I found it refreshing to have a JRPG that wasn't a teenaged boy, honestly. I would never go to the lengths for my sister (especially as a teen) as I would for my daughter.

great taste.

D3 had a literal slut protag (she sex every male in the game) where you will never watch a glimpse of her nude body or even any of the sex scene.
Only implied.
You will never see her nude tits ass midriff hips armpits or her sex face in the game while the game and everything tell you she's a sex nymph.
fucking garbage.
Pic related, the "only implied" slut.

The saddest thing is there are people who actually did this.

I emulated it perfectly multiple times so I don't know what you're talking about, the cutscenes glitch out unless you activate the mpeg fix but that takes a second

Can it really be that much worse than the actual game itself?
Have fun, I love the music in Drakengard 1, but other than that I don't care for it

Automata, didnt know, will they release more? Will it get a complete edition in a few months?

You wouldn't fight for your sister? I don't think that's too crazy. Getting fucked in the ass for money might be a bit much though.

>Can it really be that much worse than the actual game itself?
Depends. In the PS2 version, they cut resolution when too many enemies get on the screen to keep the FPS up. In emulation, the FPS just takes a nose dive. I'll leave you to decide which is worse: cutting the resolution in half, or having single digit framerates.

Doubt it. Thus far, the DLC isn't really story based. Plus, I think more DLC Is coming, although I haven't really been paying attention.

>Getting fucked in the ass for money might be a bit much though.
Depends how long the dick is.

My sister and I were never close, even when young. I would likely just leave her somewhere. So the "protect your sibling" narrative never really resonates with me. She was always a bullying cunt.

Die slowly

Father Nier makes way more sense to pick ending C.
Brother Nier makes way more sense to pick ending D.

One question about Automata. To be precise, about Devola and Popola IN Automata. We know what happened to them, how they had their memory erased and were reprogrammed, but did THEY (those 2 models we met in Automata) knew why was that? Maybe I'm stupid or I just missed that part. Devola and Popola say how they must atone for the sins of previous models that ''went mad'', but we know that wasn't the case; Devola and Popola in the original NieR were just doing their job. You can hardly call them ''enemies''.

automata was a deeply fucking flawed game imo

while every character was initially interesting, 9S was the only character I actually had any investment in whatsoever towards to the end of the game, i was just given absolutely no reason to care about any of them

i was sadder about pascals death than 2b's

>deeply flawed game
No shit. Welcome to Taro Land. Enjoy your stay. The fact that Taro's games are so good despite their enormous flaws is what makes the dude so respectable.

They knew that 2 other "sister models" were responsible for what happened to humanity, if that's what you're asking.

Devola and Popola from the first game didn't "just do their job." They intentionally fucked with the actual story about Weiss's supposed purpose. Then they iold NieR exactly how to get into the Shadowlord's Castle, only to try and get him to turn back the second he entered. When he refused, they went apeshit and tried to kill him. It was the literal worst form of misdirection, because it meant that there was literally no chance of talking him down, and he would inevitably wind up either dead or at the Shadowlord's Room. Neither of these things would be considered ideal.

OK, but here's another thing. From what I understand, eding D is the original NieR game is the real ending. Automata comes after that, after ending D. But, in the original NieR, when you choose to sacrifice yourself, aka ending D, the game tells you that everyone will forget about you and that you ever existed. Now, if that is true, and people forgot about Nier (the Replicant, I mean), does that change anything? Sorry if my question is confusing, I'm bad at explaining things, but I think you get why I'm saying.

Ending E is technically considered canon, as ending C and D can't both be canon (unlike Taro's claims).

Ending E, only available in Grimoire NieR, has NieR Replicant reconstructed via the Tree of Memories.

googled
Why, this? nier.wikia.com/wiki/Grimoire_Nier

Never heard of that before, thanks for the info user!

Literally had a picture of it right here:

Everyone forgets about Replicant Nier. However, Shadowlord Nier still is remembered, and is the basis of N2.

Papa Nier IS the superior version, buddy.

It only suffers during the sequence where they fight Mother Goose, or whatever that unkillable shade that the desert king dies to was. The whole sequence plays out with the Replicant model in mind

Plus, there are things that mean a lot more if you played Nier first. Such as finding the metal pipe or meeting Emil

Ok, but if Devola and Popola failed and project Gestalt failed, why were they reprogrammed to feel the guilt while, at the same time, we - yorha - are fighting for mankind that is extinct? Few android on Bunker knew the truth, and Eliminator units, I guess. Does that mean that the (almost) every android in Bunker thought they're fighting for humans (not all of them were allowed to go to Earth), android who were on Earth knew the truth, Scanners had no idea and when/if they heard something from NPCs on Earth were eliminated?

>Plus, there are things that mean a lot more if you played Nier first

Definitely. It's almost like Automata expects you to have played NieR beforehand, which is a good thing. I can't imagine what it would be like to play Automata first

>Papa Nier IS the superior version, buddy.
>bro nier has more effort put in
>a grown man with no job because his wife died somehow makes sense

Could you ask your question more coherently?

not really, no

He does have a job, he's the village handyman and everyone pays him for it. Did you not play the game? Also how does Replicant have more effort put in? The games are identical outside of the age gap

Androids on the surface only heard rumors that humanity was extinct, because that info was meant to be suppressed by the androids who were in charge of Project Gestalt. So when they hear rumors that no, humans are in fact alive and on the moon, the androids who hadn't given up hope in the fight against the machines decided to chomp at the bits.

2Black

>hey let's get Platinum to work on the combat
>okay what kind of enamies do you want famalam
>just make them all slow clunky and useless

My biggest issue with the game.

Then I'll take my best guess. Word spread that humanity was extinct, which caused a huge morale loss to androids, who had no fucking clue what to do without humanity to serve. A couple of androids got clever, and spread word that humanity was on the Moon due to the aliens. This gave androids a reason to live again, but they couldn't really fight the robots without a risk of them dying. So they took the robot cores, and planted them into Yorha units, so that it wasn't really androids dying - more of turning the robot's own weaponry against them. Regular androids limited themselves to supporting Yorha, a group of androids with machine souls, who in turn answered to Androids on the moon masquerading as the Human Council.

>papa nier better
>the whole first half of the game is a coming of age story
>a coming of age story about a 41 year old

gud1m8.

They're slow, clunky, and useless to ease you into fights against them until they suddenly decide to dial it up and the difficulty spikes hugely at the beginning of route C. THough after that, they go back to being slow, clunky, and useless.

Basically it's to lull you into a false sense of security before they really fuck you up.

As opposed to generic teenaged male protagonist that sets off to saaaaaaave the world (and also his sister, I guess, even though he literally misses her birthday so he can learn how to fish better)?

Yeah. It's better with Papa NieR.

>suddenly decide to dial it up and the difficulty spikes hugely at the beginning of route C

What?

You mean the Yorha units?

Like said, Papa Nier is the village handyman and a mercenary of sorts. People in the village hire him to sort shit out for them all the time.

>Papa Nier
>Active and engaged with his community
>Loved and depended upon by his fellow villagers
>Doing whatever it takes to save the life of his little girl
>Suffered the tragic lost of his loved one, leaving him with a sick child as the only thing he has left in the world
>Makes far more sense as a MC when seen as someone who goes off the deep end trying to save his little girl

>Brother Nier
>Surly fuckboy who literally sold his ass to old men for medicine
>Looks like a little bitch, which makes sense since he was half the village's buttslut
>His quest to save his sister isn't all about love, since he wants to give his sister the dick.
>It's all less about saving the life of someone precious and more about his unnatural sexual attraction to his little sister

Papa Nier is miles ahead of an inestual pedophile twink

>save the world
Dude just wanted his sister. Also you're playing the same game except half the dialogue doesn't make sense for a 40 year old to be saying.

Thank you.
But the main question still remains: why were Devola and Popola reprogrammed and why do other android (on Earth) treat them like garbage? If the project Gestalt failed that means there are no more humans, and the fact they're reprogrammed because project Gestalt simply tells other andorids there are no more humans around. Simple as that.
I'm sorry, maybe I'm just thinking too much about it. :(

The EMP bots that can hack you every fucking second.

The androids just wanted someone to blame for the death of their creators. They found that scapegoat in the DevPopo models.

Finish the B route at, say, level 55 and the enemies in the opening sequence of C route are level 55. After that, they're back to... some crappy level 30 or something. That's what user's saying.

I wouldn't really call that a ramping up in difficulty, just giving them an annoying as fuck ability.

Brother Nier literally spent the first half of the game enjoying his sister at every opportunity.

Brother came off as just not really wanting to be around such a needy kid, and more like an optimistic fool that wanted to be a hero of legend, while Papa literally said implied that he didn't give a shit about the legend, "So long as I save my daughter."

Their model fucked up Project Gestalt.

>enjoying his sister
Meant avoiding.

Yes, they fucked up. There are no more humans. There are no humans on the Moon. They why are we fighting for humans/mankind?

But they don't have that ability before or after that sequence. It gives you the impression that if they were serious about destroying you they could have spammed that annoying as fuck ability all they wanted. They were deliberately giving you an easy time instead.

White or fuck off

Because what else is there to do?

They were created to serve mankind, yet mankind no longer exists.

Because the androids think that Project Gestalt fucked up (dooming the vast majority of 6+billion humans), but that there are around 200 thousand humans left on the moon.
