Hey man, I don't act like a cock sucking fanboy, but I think a lot of the designs are cool, even if I haven't played vampire savior. I lent my ps3, so I haven't downloaded it yet, and I like to focus on GG, and I know I'm not naturally as good as some people to just pick up any old school fighting game and perform well to mess around in fightcade.

If we look at the trends it actually hurts playerbases. The most popular SF games had the least amount of waifus. Same with Tekken and MK has women who are meant to be monstrous like D'Vorah.

Also the problem OP is having is becoming less and less true as the years go on. However, it ended up being a kind of monkey paw thing. We used to complain about all the Darkstalkers fans who just liked the characters and shit but didn't play the games, but now some of them are starting to play the game, and what was once probably one of the coolest fighting game communities has become infested with furries and all manner of weirdos who once shrank from actually playing.
Darkstalkers, like Cave Story, is dead. It's a done deal. Over. So if the only advertising the games will get is posts on porn sites, well that's better than nothing.
If MKvsDC can be revived as Injustice or KI can survive 4 seasons anything can be revived with proper marketing.
