i have been playing it with a friend and we are enjoying it. We are mostly playing together against the ai though and so far the ai haven't been all that impressive. Haven't tried the previous Cossacks so i can't tell you how the new one is compared to the old ones.
It has a nice sense of scale both in terms of armies and city building however the fighting turns into big fighting blobs when me and my friend is playing.
