Battlefield 1 is fucking beautiful with great textures. Please note how you've failed to actually point out your shitty textures. It might not be a great game, but it sure looks good.

I don't think it's rare occasion to have great graphics and gameplay at all. Doom 2016 looked great and it played nicely.
While technically not very impressive, the aesthetics of Nier Automata were pretty great, and it's a great game.

Yeah, although to be fair most of the time it looks way worse, taking a picture that looks good in photo mode is a pain in the ass, the new drone camera added in FH3 is pretty neat, because it's basically an ingame photo mode and works in multiplayer.

Does anyone have some pics of Horizon Zero Dawn? I know we're supposed to hate it since it look better than most PC games, but you can't deny that the Decima Engine is a marble.

Yes but I feel as though there is an abnormally high amount of games when looking at screenshots from conole that don't into it and the performance cost is very low.
I haven't played this game, but from the pictures I've seen is like they actually managed to make the game look as good as the prerendered backgroung of REmake. It loooks really nice.

In the 7th gen developers started having games with very very narrow Field of View, so with less shit to render, the games perform much better. That's what happens when you want to push the graphics bar on a closed spec machine. Compromises will have to be made. Later console games were running 25FPS on top of all kinds of graphical compromises to stay "playable".
Look at a comparison between GTAV on PS3/360 and on new consoles and PC, the amounts of pop in going fast on a car just to crash on something that didn't load yet, is absolutely disgusting.
Could it be that there's some issue with having AF, or could be developers opting for whatever performance advantages they can grab, what is the cost, 1FPS? Might be enough to hit the 30FPS stable standard

every time i see pictures of this game i get kind of sad. the world looked so great, detailed, and lived-in. but it was just so mediocre. i had no interest in the characters or story, and the combat felt really bad. such a waste.
