I hated how the remake pretty much missed the point of the original.

Nah, the gameplay is awful. The art probably had a lot of work behind, though, so much wasted resources that could be spent in a good adventure.

I'm almost certain that someone on the art/design team had schizophrenia. The way things are written and look is so close. I knew an old dude with it a few months ago and anything he had in writing he would always quote seemingly random words, so when that bit with the manual showed the "bump" part I got a pretty good idea.
