To be fair, Mario 64 and Sunshine weren't better than OoT or WW. Both Galaxy games prove that Mario can stand on the same stage as the Zelda games, and it looks like Odyssey will replicate their success.

I do not claim that but from what i have seen from trailers it seems to me that it is incredibly slow, incredibly lenient with jumps and 100% cheesable with a variety of stupid hat posessions.

The possessions are quite severely limited to a certain area unless its a minigame level. For example the bullet bill can't go higher up so it explodes once it hits a wall

I don't think 64 is a good game. Galaxy was the first 3D Mario platformer to get it right. 3D World also did it right.
