I read about this on reddit, i assumed it was to do with you can kill guinea pigs for fur or something (never played starjew valley). is it really to do with guinea wheels? how do wheels kill guinea pigs?

Changing the sprite for the cage probably took less than 5 minutes, while Multiplayer would presumably take at LEAST 10. It's just time management.

I looked it up quick and apparently, although they do, running wheels can cause back problems for guinea pigs that they wouldn't for hamsters,.

Multiplayer is done by Chucklefish and not by the dev that made the Game.

As someone who hates pixelshit, it works surprisingly well in this game.

This. My dogs have the most fun when I take them out to the park in weekends and all they do is run around like mad. Hamsters get on those wheels of their own accord because they enjoy doing it as well, it's not something you force them to do for your entertainment, it's something they choose to do for their own enjoyment.
