I use 100 points.

None, rating/score systems are cancer.

>is it good?
>yes or no

I like that system

please explain how a 92 differs from a 91

92 is better

None, just a list of pros/cons at the end with no score.

Is that a shitty DBZ OC donutsteal?

gonna give this post a 2.73/5
pros: nice use of commas
short and sweet
cons: shit opinion

Fucking retard.

its art

40/40

Worth Buying
Worth Playing
Avoid

don't need anymore than this.

Too subjective.

All bad because no matter what, retard "jurnos" grade it by american school standards where failing/bad starts at half i.e. 2.5/5, 5/10, 50/100, when those are suppose to be average, not bad.

ALPACA SURI IS KEMONO FRIEND FUCK YOU OP!
100/100 is the most detailed

These.

If you have to use a score system, use a 4 or 5 point system.

5/5 is sufficient for game reviews. 1-2 is saying it's probably not worth your time. 3 is a maybe you'll like it if you enjoy similar games. 4 is a strong recommendation for most gamers. 5 is for must play games.

BEST KEMONO FRIEND! FUCKING BRAIN! NOW I LOOK LIKE A MORON

this. just give pros/cons

that's all people read anyway. an arbitrary number just causes shitflinging. but I guess the children here love that.

GAO

who wants an average game? you should value your time/money.

don't buy this post
2/5

fuck reviews in general. especially these days when you can just hop on youtube and see if something looks fun or not. or heck, just watch a longplay.

5/5

No question. None of that 7/10 bullshit. If you need more information, luckily there's this handy review that that score comes from.

Why don't review sites have more than one person review a game.

Having the opinion of others in one site would be great

10 points is perfect, not too little not too much.

Reviews with words in them are pretty good.

Yeah, this honestly. The only problem is the glut of long plays and other videos that exist.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
its almost like you are talking about uhhhhhh
metacritic

It's been years since X-Play has been relevant, but they're still the reason I prefer "out of 5" rating systems. Pretty well-explained here:
youtube.com/watch?v=SBhX6Oo-94U

5 out of 5. It doesn't split hairs quite as hard with scores like 7/10 8/10 or 69/100. hard to round off numbers like that. a 4/5 or a 3/5 is much more to the point

scoville rating.

A five-star system without half stars or any of that bullshit is the best. If you want to average it out to a percentage across a lot of reviewers it's fine but I maintain that no one person can really have such a complex opinion that they're able to judge a game down to a single point out of 100.

OK faggots.

100/100 is shit because human usually can't describe what is so different between 52 and 53 anyway.

5/5 is shit because tons of game deserve way more than 80% but still not a perfect 100%

Numbers are arbitrary as fuck, but I have no idea how to make it better.

how hot is super hot?

>retard "jurnos" grade it by american school standards where failing/bad starts at half
Both American schools and vidya reviews are balanced around 70 being the lowest passing score.

SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT.

Probably pepper spray level.

There isn't a game complex enough that a 100 score is necessary. Nor would that amount of granularity have any meaning in a review.

5/5 is too small a scale honestly. A 3/5 game is above average and a 2/5 game is below average, which personally seems too little.

10/10 works well, with 5 being dead set average.

100/100 is just too much bullshit, the only reason people like this system is because they can use it to wank over the fact that a game they like got 3 more points than a rival systems game. Same shit with Sup Forums and rotten tomatoes.

This. Numbers are overall pretty shit though, a short list of pluses and negatives with you explaining if you recommend it or not is better.

KEK

10/10 and 100/100 is way too specific for what is ultimately an opinion. 5/5 is the only answer. Any more specific and you get bullshit like "YOU SAID THIS SEQUEL IMPROVES ON EVERYTHING THE ORIGINAL DID YET YOU GAVE IT AN 8.4 WHEN THE LAST GAME GOT AN 8.8" etc etc.

Opinions can't be crunched into pure math.

This scale is dumb, scorpions, reapers, and pepper X are all hope than ghost peppers.

They all taste better too. Ghost peppers are a normies meme.

why are you yelling?

don't play this
play this
keep this

SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT. SUPER. HOT.

Number scores are useless because everyone treats them like test grades.
Anything below 7/10 is unequivocally shit and might as well be a zero.

some jalapenos I took a bite of felt as hot as the average habanero I've eaten.

youtube.com/watch?v=9uqEMecDbX4

user all that matters is that you tried

i like a sliding scale between 7 and 9, it covers all the bases

I fucking hate half stars and decimal point in reviews. They're a fucking lie.

Half stars in a 5 scale means it's not a 5 scale, it's a 10 scale. There are now 10 possible points for a show to land on. Same with decimals in a 10 scale. That's a 100 scale now.

Why lie to your readers? Why pretend you have critical thinking or integrity when you don't?

Would you fuck a serval?

I like how they grade shit in my college. From 1/100 and everything below 70 means you fail the exam or course. I also apply it to games, everything below 70 is dogshit.

don't do that

>Top tier
5/5
Letter grades
>Fucking retarded tier
10/10
100/100
Decimal point scores

Tell me about this anime. Why is it everywhere? I mean she's cute I guess, but 90% of anime have cute girls.

Remember, the last one I watched was Kirino Mosaic, probably 3 years ago.

Man, I remember saying Twilight Princess was a 6 or 7 out of 10 and some other user replied "How can you give it that when shit games like Bioshock Infinite gets a 9/10?".

People are just fucking morons everywhere that don't understand rating systems.

Serval.

>subjective
Like reviews are and are meant to be. Assigning arbitrary number to an opinion doesn't make it objective, that's not what the word means.

It's very different than other anime, there is no exaggerated silly faces or over used cliche shots. It's a very comfortable and fun adventure anime, and while I assure you that it requires a person who enjoys cute things (not moe shit, but I mean like people who like animal planet and stuff) to properly enjoy it, anyone who watches it will find they enjoyed it more than they had expected themselves to. Unless they are just a mad person.

yup

10/10 has a tendancy to become inflated, 100/100 even more so.

By pure logic a 6/10 should be an ok game but in most cases it's pure shit because reviewers like to throw 7's and 8's around like its candy. A 3/5 however is much more likely an ok game.

Because it's actually not that bad. It's also only 12 episodes so you can watch it un one day.

People memed the fuck out of it because it looked terrible, had awful animation, and the VAing was pretty bad too but it actually turned into a pretty comfy adventure and all the bad things mentioned added to the shows charm.

100/100 if it's used correctly.

Most people just go 50, 60,70, 80,90,100 though so it's basically just a 10/10 which is fucking stupid.

Adding hard lines like that is dumb.

If everything below 70 is unacceptable, then in what sense is 70 (what is technically acceptable) practically acceptable? I'm not about to spend the cost of a (maybe fantastic game) on a game that barely made the grade.

Of course there's also the fact that many niche games rate below 70 to normies reviewers and I know that I've enjoyed MonHan more than Battlefield for many years now.

Finnish rating system, from 4 to 10.

5/5, but only with the Gamepro faces

How about just four stars?

>Did I enjoy it?
>yes or no

Servals are awesome cats, its incredible how high they can jump.

grandpa you aren't supposed to be on the computer right now

100 is too large.
5 is too small.
10 is perfect, but only using whole numbers, no 9.75 or 6.5 bullshit. With only 5 you'll have games on such a small scale where one 4/5 may not be necessarily as good as another 4/5.

This is why EGM used to be rad back in the day.

But at what point is that level of granularity still meaningful?

What is it that makes a 93 better than a 92 or 91? What features are worth 1, 2, or 31 points? With 100 possible positions for the game to fall, where in a list of 100 do you slot it? What is it about say Gears of War, scoring a hypothetical 75 that makes it 2 points better than a CoD 3 that scores 73, and why is Gears 2 15 points better at 88? Saying something is 5% better than another game means almost nothing to a buyer because results may vary. I know I'd rate FEAR an 80 but that are surely some that would called it a 60 or 100.

I prefer 5 star. Keeps things simple.
1 = I hate it
2 = I like it a little
3 = I like it
4 = I like it a lot
5 = I love it

an objective review is the paragraph they write on wikipedia

1-4

Forces reviews to not pussy out and give games 3's

Either it's shit

2/2

If you use half stars might as well go to a 10/10 scale
