Just got this game during the summer sale, and it's been pretty fun.
The only criticism I can level against it is that it is pretty easy. Even the Hornet fight that everyone hyped up was a one and done.

I might just be dragging ass but this game is a lot longer than I thought it would be. 12 hours and I've only just found the dream nail and wings, and I'm still constantly bumping into cool new shit. I haven't played very many 2D games with this sense of vastness, it's impressive

It's a fairly long game if you're not rushing to complete it. It took me 36 hours to 100% the game.

It starts to feel like a bit of a slog, honestly. I was impressed by that at first too, but was kinda begging for it to be over at some point. I did however end up 100%ing the game, but there's a point when you're getting close to the end that the game is so close to 100% anyway so might as well go for it.
Play times vary greatly. It took me 50 hours to 100% while the poster above says 36. You might be nearing the halfway point but for me it was like the quarter point.

19 hours here and I think there are still entire areas I haven't been to yet, I love it

I didn't realize I could nail jump off of spikes, this changes everything!

I've been enjoying it but one thing I hate is that you can't mark things you missed on the map. Like if I see a trapped grub behind a bunch of traps and I don't have the health to get it right then, I can't just mark it down for later.

That being said, I do enjoy wandering back and finding these things I forgot about when my movement options get better.

It seems like the movement options still never get quite good enough for the amount of world you're expected to travel with so few fast travel points though. I was expecting to be able to zip around the map by the end like other Metroidvanias but you feel like a snail the majority of the game.

That shit was almost game-breaking for me. Such a huge waste of time running through the same zones in the same areas over and over just to get around. Didn't help that any important location was at least a 5 minute trudge away from any stag station

It may sound incredibly casual to say this, but the game could have done with more fast travel points. That would solve a lot of it considering how the world is designed and how the player moves. The trams don't even make sense, they move you between two points that are just equally far away from fast travel points. I've used them like once or twice.

Katawa Shoujo still has a general up and it's never been mainstream popular.

You might want to wait a little longer before doing dream bosses, makes them easier. Also, consider equipping breakable charms because they don't actually break when you lose to a dream boss. And yeah, I don't mind the new enemies, but blocking off paths in the infected crossroads was retarded. The developers seem to be a little out of touch in regards to how unfun it is to travel their game world sometimes.

It doesn't get hourly threads much any more, that was around release and during the summer sale when some autist was turbo-triggered by a game he hates being on the front page of the sale so he made a bunch of threads on purpose to make it look bad. That combined with people who legitimately just wanted to talk about the game they just got on sale made for a disaster.

Geo becoming useless halfway through the game is one of the glaring examples, the fact that most secrets are just chests with geo also doesn't help at all.

The game should have had a higher HP count. You can cheese every single boss in the game except Radiance because suddenly that one does double damage on all attacks. It needed to be a more natural progression of damage dealing, which could have been done if there were a 0-100 health system instead. And the reason I'm replying to your post with secrets is because then the secrets would be more, smaller health upgrades perhaps instead of useless currency. .

It's amazing how much the quality of Hollow Knight threads vary. Sometimes we have good threads with discussion and other times it's, this. Whatever this thread is. But both are equally as amusing to follow.

No one gives a fuck about SOTN's story or voice acting, it's just fun to play. Hollow Knight's story is shit and the NPCs make ear grating noises, but it's still pretty fun.

I fail to understand how the voice acting being bad would make the game bad.
