Seriously, I hold Kingdom Hearts in high prestige but knowing it's on the Xbox one really fucks with the value of the franchise.

The silver lining here is Microsoft had to pay serious bank for it and as a result PS4 got a plethora of new games as a result. It's a fair trade off when I think about it. Xbox owners get to pretend to enjoy having the support of Japanese devs while PS4 actually gets games from them.

it's fine, Japanese games and KH in particular were never very demanding, they're trying to get the game done as quickly as possible anyway, they can't waste time making a cutting-edge game, they'll just slap unreal on it and get to actually making the game in time for December next year, they still have FFVII:remake to, not even the whole thing but just the first part, the longer KHIII takes the more of a shitshow that becomes.

God, I watched a cut scene of KH2 Xemnas prior to the final battle and the facial animations looked so much better in the old engine than the Xehanort we see in the trailer. That being said, the toy story cut scene made up for it. I just think it sucks that the antagonist models look like they're animated like shit.

and it won't. Square Enix is a big company now, they can do Multiplatform game by themselves. The goal of devs working on a game is to sell as much copies of that games as possible and they also want to reach the most people. Unless they get paid a bit more by Sony for a timed exclusive or a lot for a platform exclusive, it won't happen.
