The XL sized screens are too stretched out. The Pixel density is shit. The regular sized N3ds strikes the best balance of screen size and image quality.

Isn't the N2DS already out? I'd recommend getting an N3DS because the N2DS is a budget model, but it's now that much worse Also all N2DS's are on 11.4, which can't currently be hacked without another already hacked 3DS So you'd want to try and find a used N3DS that isn't updated
Julian Roberts
Yeah but that goes at the same price at the N3DSXL so why not get a larger screen.
Also both are > 150$ new, so if he's getting a used one, might as well get a N3DSXL.
Isaac Reyes
I actually like the 3D in some games. Couldn't you just keep looking for a good deal on the n3ds xl? In my country, a store sold the Animal Crossing Happy Home n3ds bundle completely new for 140€ yesterday (instead of the usual 190).

>Isn't the N2DS already out? Nah, 28th July or something like that.
Also the N2DS has exactly the same hardware as the N3DS but without the 3D option, so it's not a budget model in those terms. Plus it comes with an AC adapter.
You're right about the FW version, even though I think it will eventually get bypassed and hacked, this is my major concern.
That's a killer price. The best I could find is like 180$ which is 30$ already over my limit, and that's not counting the AC and microSD I need to get.

You can't just take the image and stretch it, retard. It looks fine on our high-definition monitors, not on a 4.88" 240p screen relative to a 3.53" 240p screen.
Adrian Mitchell
But it is missing that C-Stick though.
Is the C-Stick being used for any games?
Ian Wright
Yes, the N2DS has the exact same hardware, but the build quality is worse The lid is ONLY the screen, and the hinge is really loose and wobbly The speakers are in the corners of the handheld that your palms cover, the stylus is the shortest one in the entire DS family, and the dust cover is a fucking pain to get off Overall, it's just a cheaper shittier N3DS, but that's why it's cheaper
Grayson Garcia
Why are you talking out of your ass user? The N2DS hasn't even been released yet
Jeremiah Johnson
It's been released for weeks in my country, my sister bought one and I've had plenty of time to play around with it and compare it to my N3DS while I hacked it Another thing I forgot to add is the speakers are worse as well, lots of audio crackle
Justin Gutierrez
Standard model New 3DS does have a higher PPI for the screens from what I heard(has bigger screens than the old standard model 3DS and old model 2DS) while the XL models do not although they have much larger screens.
Kayden Harris
Wow, I just checked the actual dates, Australia get the console a whole month ago, and literally the rest of the world has to wait until mid-late July
But seriously, did you really think Nintendo could make the exact same console without cutting any corners and sell it for cheaper?
Brayden Torres
So should I get a refurbished one from GameStop for 110$? Not including the AC and microSD.
Also is the AC adapter really the only way to charge this thing?
Grayson Campbell
Yes, you'll need to buy an AC adapter, Nintendo still uses a proprietary plug to charge the 3DS I don't think their that much more, and depending on your country, you should be able to get a good sized SD card for $20 or less
Liam Peterson
Nintendo has refurbished New 3DS XL for $160 on their website. I can't imagine it'd be cheaper at GameStop. If you really care about 3D, $10 seems like not a bad deal.
Personally, I really like the design of the N2DSXL more, and 3D isn't a big deal for me.
That being said, I don't plan on picking one up 'cause it's $150. If it was $100, definitely.
