There is no more Half-LIfe

Post yfw Half-Life doesn't install anymore.
Try it. You get no data from it besides your cloud data and the soundtrack if it's enabled.

>allowing a third party server to host your content is good

what about half life source?

There is only room in the world for a certain number of Half-Life's. Valve had to remove HL1 to make room for HL3.

HL3 confirmed.

That version is garbage. I'm referring to the original.

they didn't think anyone would actually want to install and play a 2 hours corridor shooting game

>had this ritual where I play through hl1, blue shift and opposing force every winter
>they remove it from steam

What in the fuck? Why are they fucking with my autism like this. Half Life is one of my favorite games ever.

This also applies for any GoldScr game inside the Half-Life diectory.
TFC, CS 1.6, etc.

Thought they just patched it recently too. Must have fucked something up.

(You)

Why don't you just get your game CD then? You do have one don't you?

What? I just Installed Day of Defeat yesterday.
Didn't have any problems.

This probably happened today.
Try re-installing Half-Life.

>implying hl gameplay can be called good by 2017 standards
it's boring as fuck and worthless if you take away its significance in the past

Go back to pubg or cod or something. We don't want you here.

The gameplay matters more than the graphics. Fuck off.

I just tried uninstall/reinstall.
You're correct, now it doesn't work!

I specifically referenced gameplay, what's your issue? didn't read enough books in school?

Tell me a good non corridor shooter that is not battlefield.

You might as well say Wolf3d, doom and Quake is bad.

that's beside the point

Someone at Steam is a giant fuckup and has been messing things up for the past day

Updates sent to Steam servers by devs weren't being distributed yesterday, and today noone can launch SteamVR and a whole bunch of other shit because someone at Valve fucked up the package ownerships for free subs

This could be the same thing

>tfw a massive Steam shitstorm is going to come
>this makes Valve for third party and upoads their games to GOG and the like with non-drm

Then everybody wins.

That will never happen though.

Is Half-Life 2 good for you?

Do you know what the fuck a torrent is? Stop shitposting and fuck off m8

I already have it installed but I noticed that I can instantly download the other GoldSrc games like CS and DoD. Like, just one click and they are already ready to play, weird.

Problem fixed. We can go home now guys

sub 80 iq

physicucks forever assmad
shall their jewstop cards be greasy and their discs full of scratches

can't wait for the crowbcat video

>he needs health regen, cover systems and iron sights to play a shooter game

>he doesn't have HL1 installed permanently in both WON and Steam versions
Casuals.

/CONFIRMED

bump

Has Sup Forums hit a point where most of the people here haven't even played Half-Life?

Threw it away since lolphysicalgames.

This guy gets it

I do, and that's exactly what I would do if I wanted to play HL1. Actually no that's not true, it's faster for me to just torrent the fucker instead of getting up and fetching the CD so I'd do that.

What?

It's fixed now

restart steam nigga it's a bug

why even uninstall them if you play them every winter? they take up fuck all space

I remember when half-life 2: episode one standalone did literally not work for months straight. You would purchase it, and install it and it wouldn't work, just crash with an error. For fucking months they literally stole money

>did literally not work for months straight
>.... on my pc

Nope, not for anybody. This was before reviews where a thing and those community forums existed. People posted about it every day

Remember when Opposing Force would crash when you tried to enter the teleporter room where Gordan enters Xen, and the glitch persisted for two years or so?

>This was before reviews where a thing
nigger i could crack open my copy of pc gamer from that year and month and there will be no mention of it not working for people

it wasn't a big thing and it was like in 2009 or 10. only when you had it installed by itself. so it affected pretty few people, still it took them months to fix it while it was still sold

still have it on disc, I don't know this feel.

>try to play mod
>"put thing in steam folder"
>pic related

I remember that Episode One, before update which brought it to Orange Box engine, was rather demanding in RAM department. I could play HL2 perfectly well, but Episode One would throw all sorts of shitfits, from static instead of sound to not working lighting to Alix's textures turning into black-white mess, on top of BSODs. Still not sure if it was really RAM issue.

episode one was probably the glitchiest version of source valve had ever done, you weren't alone in these various problems
it was so bad, it breaks mods to this day. they tried to fix it like 3 years ago i think, and broke literally every single mod in the process, and the only way to fix the mods was having the developer update it, so a lot of old mods died permanently.

This topic reminded me to play Gunman Chronicles, going for a first play-through now. What am I in for?

High-quality HL-mod-like game with amusing story and rather well implemented vehicle sequence closer to the end. It has diverse set of levels on various planets, and all in all, I liked what I got from it. One of parts also, oddly enough, reminded me of Portal, namely GLaDOS, but that's probably my delusions. Anyway, I think it's fun. Not sure if it worth the money, but hey, it's not like it's purchasable anyway.

gaben is starting to steal the games we bought.

remember, you down own the games you bought on steam, they are just borrowed virtual copies

epic meme

Apparently half life had a patch last week.
no lie, I heard it on gamespot news that someone found bugs, valve patched it and credited them in the credits, so possibly the patch has fucked something up.
