When?
When?
Never.
Another year at least
>making an even weaker version
Just play on your shitty 3DS for fucks sake. I'm having a hard enough time already trying to convince myself to buy a Switch. If they are gonna do anything they are going to make a new Switch with better build quality, not size it down for autists that should just play their 3DS.
Never because it wouldn't be a Switch....because you couldn't switch between modes.
This is common knowledge.
Slide pads.
Calling it the Switch Mini is dumb.
It should be the Lite Switch. End of story.
New Switch, duh.
Literally never
>not the Switchi
>same hardware in more compact size is weaker
do you have no idea how console revisions work?
>Smaller than Standard Switch
>Claims it compatible with dock.
Yeah no this claim is BS, the analogue sticks would get in the way of the dock.
They'll be called
Switch Home
Switch Port
>making it smaller without sacrificing power is somehow going to make it cheaper as well!! BELIEB IT
Do YOU know how revisions work?
Sure, but first you need to make it good looking
I'd agree with you but we live in this weird timeline where Nintendo took the 3D out of 3DS
Before you say how they're allowed to get away with this because they actually changed the name from 3DS to 2DS, you could say Switch means to Switch out of their non sense
When battery tech evolves
Why does the mini look like a bootleg PSP?
I'm not desperate to buy a switch so the longer the better.
GBA SP, DS Lite, all the smaller Playstation revisions, yeah, it actually works like that.
You're dumb as bricks if you think size of device is noticeably representative of how powerful it is.
Besides, 3DS is getting phased out for this as their new lead portable system.
Dude this is a fan made image.
thanks capt obvious
...
just IMAGINE being this delusional
>smaller
>more battrry life
Look at this retarded fuck
>animal crossing
>$149.99
>battery life: 5-8 hours
do people believe this? the 3DS was $200 for the longest time, and the original was $250 for 2 years
They would never make a version of the console that didnt have joycons, anyone who says otherwise is a delusional retard
Would rather have a Switch XL, tried it at a friend's house and shit was too small for me as it is.
Fuck this thin scrap I want something that doesn't give hand cramps.
Nintendo would never ever ever sell a cheaper version of a console they just released
>tfw you are all retarded
>tfw
Wait. The Switch doesn't have a fucking D-Pad? What a shitsucker.
>cant use joycons anymore
>a plus
Why the fuck would you expect a larger screen to cost LESS money? The screen is the most expensive part of the unit.
It completely clashes with the design of the Switch, removing all of the features that differentiate it from other handhelds. Stupid idea.
>Joycons
>ever a plus
They're shitty controllers and introduce two more points of failure in what is arguably the most fragile and problematic Nintendo system to date. Fuck off with your dumb shit.
>remove local multiplayer anywhere, one of Switch's strongest selling points
It seems like the dock would be a minor cost to manufacture even tough they sell it for $90. I wouldn't expect them to be able to drop the price much by leaving it out.
with a crappy screen like that it could actually do it, assuming Nintendo used a decent battery which they haven't done in a long time.
Quick reminder before you dumbasses start reporting "leaks" that Nintendo will never stray from their particular choice of vernacular when describing their own products, and that "Joy-con" is both the singular and plural form of the controller. Just like "Amiibo" and "Wii Consoles"
Isn't the dock literally just a fancy HDMI and AC out?
They never have. The closest it gets these days is using advanced rechargeable AAs with very high capacity on systems like the GBA with AGS-101 screen.
All their Li-Po internal batteries and nonstandard charging connectors suck ass.
You can't use them in basic portable mode either and games on the system are designed to be used without them.
The important "plus" is more compact design.
Not fancy. It's just a dumb USB-C hub that splits out to AC-In, USB-A out, HDMI-out. That's it.
These devices cost less than $20 elsewhere, but Nintendo charges an arm and a leg for that shit.
SP rocked an impressive 10-hour battery life with the lightning on. For the time GBA was very much up to date.
>Make it cheaper so that your friend can buy one to play on separate screens
Split screen on a tiny 6" screen is retarded.
Yeah, and that was with the backlight off, and today those batteries don't hold anywhere near the same charge, the charging connector sucks as and doesn't stay in the port, and overall the same AGS-101 screen was 10x better on the much more ergonomically shaped GBA shell, and modern day high capacity AA batteries completely shit on anything the GBA-SP can do.
>Yeah, and that was with the backlight off
Nope.
>and modern day high capacity AA batteries completely shit on anything the GBA-SP can do.
Doesn't matter, the point is about how well the tech they choose at the time fulfills its purpose. Back then it clearly worked for them, but Nintendo putting 600mAh battery in 3DS during an age where phones of similar price range have something like 1600mAh ones is how they're now failing to meet the modern expectations.
I just sent my launch Switch in for repair. They made me send the dock too even though it's obviously the console itself that was fucked.
What are the odds I'm getting a new console/dock? Once upon a time I sent in my 3DS and put a little dot on it to see if they would send me mine back, and got a brand new one.
Also, is it true they give out copies of 1 2 Switch if you send in for repairs?
I'd prefer a New Switch XL, with more processing power that can run games at above 20FPS.
How about a SwitchTV like VitaTV? I don't want the mobile part of the console
Fucking this
I don't give a shit about the portable mode I just want a console that I can play on my TV
This.
yeah never
Hopefully never, it is a terrible fucking idea. It kills basically everything the Switch does. Tabletop mode? Nope. Docking? Nope. Multiplayer out of the box? Nope. Oh, you bought ARMS? I hope you didn't want to use the motion controls. And if Nintendo plans on keeping the 3DS around, as it seems they do, then releasing a $200 mini Switch would cannibalize both regular Switch sales, and all 3DS models. They'd also have to make things like a unique dock for it.
No, it would be like removing the double screen from the 3DS, retard.
You remind me of back in the years of "I am just waiting for the Wii U revision without the stupid tablet controller bro. Any day now."
Technology progresses
Systems per performance 10 years ago that took 200W take now 5W
Yes but newer tech is more expensive and not time tested, see samsung attemp of new batteries with galaxy nuke
Will a Switch XL be released with in two years?
Look at this bomb ass shit. I bet I can play like, 100 games of Crysis running on max settings. Fuck your weak ass $3000 desktop, my computer takes up my entire fucking garage.
Nintendo Switch Q (from Qbit)
All they need to do is make it 4K, and fix the dock a little, they can just make D-pad joycons.
Never ever.
Also
>compatible with dock
>but the screen is smaller too
You didn't think this shit through. Especially the D-pad, since you don't know how bad the Switch Pro D-Pad is. It constantly detects diagionals rather than lefts or rights.
>non removable controls
Thats the dumbest move Sup Forums thinks nintendo would ever do
Those joycons are a goldmine for nintendo at $70 for a set and you think nintendo would remove one of the main gimmicks of the console?
>4K on a portable
I mean if you want to burn your hands from the heat generated and pay a small fortune, sure
>People were saying they would make a revision of the Wii without the wiimotes, and without needing to link a controller to the wiimotes, and where it would have "real controllers"
>They didn't.
>People were saying that once the revision to the Wii U without the tablet controller comes out with a "real controller", they would buy it
>Nintendo again did no such revision
>Now people are saying they will do a revision of the Switch just to make it smaller, ergo inferior due to smaller screen
When are people going to realize that what they see as "faults" are what makes Nintendo's products have their identity in the first place.
It wouldn't be the Wii without wiimotes.
It wouldn't be the Wii U without the hated tablet controller.
And it wouldn't be the Switch without the gimmick of "Switching" the joycons in or out of it. Its in the fucking logo. Its literally part of the logo animation are you fucking real?! The more you hate what you consider to be faults in Nintendo's hardware, the more well known their identity becomes.
What was wrong with it?
The USB on the Switch itself died
I think there's a high chance you'll get a new one. Only console I've ever had to send in was my 360, 4 times. But then again everyone's 360 broke at some point
>playing split screen multiplayer on the go
Play better local multiplayer games like PPT and fighting games.
Also it's not as bad as you make it out to be.
Brought mine in to work one day to play MK8D with a supervisor and after a few rounds we had a nice crowd huddling around to watch me curb stomp him course after course.
>swap leftstick and dpad location
>include HDMI or even mini-HDMI out port somewhere
>$200, hell even $250 like what the Switch SHOULD have launched at
Jesus fuck I'd buy one today if they did this.
>when
Fucking never, obviously. That or 5 years too late lke the new 2DS that is ("new" hardware aside) what the 2DS should have been originally (3DS with the pointless gimmick removed but design otherwise unmolested).
>Nintendo Switch
>Can't play multiplayer games on my TV
>Switch
Why are you people so retarded? Go play your DS.
They are never making a version that makes the joycons obsolete, retards. There will never be a mini or lite or whatever the fuck.
>Switch
>can't switch
Daily reminder that the average Sup Forumstard is a retard.
The 3DS used a 1300 mAh battery. The XL used a 1750 mAh. The New is 1400, and the New XL is 1700. As for the Switch, that uses a 4310 mAh battery.
>nintendo has repeatedly said they see the switch as more console than handheld
>wii u never got a revision or even more than a $50 price drop
>wii's revision was in canada only and it actually made the system worse
>GC and N64 never got revisions
OP, you stupid fuck. And I know you're from neogaf, I sourced that image.
Basically the same here
>Launch 3DS had a broken L button, sent blue and got back black
>Sent in Wii U pad and got back a black one with white triggers
>Sent in about four 360s just as you did
>Sent in my silver-ish PS3 and got a black one
>Sent in my PS4 with the metal gear cover and got back a plain black one (so fuckin' mad)
They wanted me to send my dock with it. It was warped as all fucking hell too, so I'm assuming I'm gonna get a whole new kit.
I took out my SD card, are my saves really fucked?
This.
Jesus Christ, you never learn, do you?
I liked the 3D gimmick
Damn, you're either super unlucky or don't know how to take care of your shit
Soon.
As with DS lite, GBA SP, 3DSXL, never buy Nintendo's first edition machine.
Your saves are gone. That data is on the console.
If they make a Lite version it'll be like the Vita TV, it'll be a little thing that ONLY plugs into your TV, that can also charge joycons.
>He brought consoles at launch
>He returned it because his launch machine roke
>compatible with dock
are you blind or just plain stupid?
Until consumers can buy the regular model whenever they want. Plus the Switch is already mini, highly doubt they can make the console any smaller than it already is.
I'm actually super fucking autistically careful with my shit, you mongs. Shit just fucking breaks.
>Launch 3DS lasted me until Smash came out
>Wii U pad survived 300-something hours of Hyrule Warriors before going "nope fuck this" and the Y-button jamming inside the controller
>PS3 Fats were notoriously failure heavy
>Same with 360
Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. I am not collecting those coins in Plague Knight again. At least now I have an excuse for Master Mode.
My PS3 and my Switch are the only ones to straight up fucking die on me.
Yeah, either something like that, or a revision to the tablet itself. But it would most likely stay the same size and the joy cons would still slide onto the sides.
>And it wouldn't be the Switch without the gimmick of "Switching" the joycons in or out of it. Its in the fucking logo. Its literally part of the logo animation are you fucking real?! The more you hate what you consider to be faults in Nintendo's hardware, the more well known their identity becomes.
2DS doesn't have 3D...
I'd rather buy one of those instead of a Switch. Joycons are retarded.
But that was like 7 years later and the only reason the 3DS got so many revisions was to sell amiibos.
And it still removed the key gimmick of the 3DS: The 3D.
once they stop having no games. i feel even nintendo is hesitant to make games for it
You forgot
>revealed during Pokemon Switch Direct
Wow, nostalgia'd. I remember when Nintendo used to make those.
>nce upon a time I sent in my 3DS and put a little dot on it to see if they would send me mine back, and got a brand new one.
I sent my SM 3ds and got it back dust and all
To make it cheaper and more accessible to sell more games and amiibos.
Otherwise you wouldn't be able to split the controller in half and then both controllers have a stick and 4 button layout.
Have fun looking for plants that produce 720x576 panels. You know companies don't settle for random fucking numbers for screens right?
