He didn't shoot behind him. He went straight up from where he left the tip of the building and shot the front of the skylight and pulled himself forward.
With super strength he could easily propel himself with what little distance between him and the Webs contact point.
The real question is why didn't he pull the sky light off the building with that pull?

Not as boring as that canned running up the walls that's in every super hero/power game as of late.

It's better for the gameplay IMO, you're going to be traveling through the city a lot, so you want it to be as fast and fluid as possible. Imagine you're chasing some bad guy, for some reason you crash against a building but instead of sprinting up and keeping your momentum you stick to the building with your only options being either crawl up it at a snails pace or jumping off and star swinging again; either way you lost all of your momentum and a lot of time.

Does he have mechanical or organical web shooters?

That transition from swinging to wallrun was not fluid at all and looked awkward. wallrunning doesn't seem to "spidey" either but those might have been in his other games idr.

the weirdest part for me is that spiderman is the size of an entire story of the building, he's stepping over a floor with every step. look at his body in comparison to the length of the windows and for an estimation of how big the floor of the building is. spiderman looks comically large and everything else seems smaller because of it. they fucked up his model making it so long
