You kill them all.

But they're already ded

HOLY FUCKING SHIT NIGGER WHAT ARE YOU DOING

GET THOSE CROSSBOWMEN OUT OF THE FRAY

I can't help it if my spearmen broke ranks and they're providing free potshots for the outriders.

Did you even try holding them back till the undead had engaged you? That whole battle just looks like one, big, sloppy mess at this point. And what's with your commander fleeing the field? What is she, a pussy?

There was actually twice as many bats and vergheist then the first pick, I'm actually surprised I'm doing this well in the first place, the outriders were sitting on the blood knights as long as they could.

Hey guys only Vlad and one vamp left. I'm okay, right?

You did good, user. Don't worry.
Don't act surprised when the game spawn another army for the AI to just throw away.

kite and shoot

>no shock cavalry
What are you even doing OP?

Confederation

Franz is fighting off Manfredd and that necromancer guy at the moment. In northern east sylvania.

I took a chance and decided to try and wipe out Vlad with a defensive army.

It's working,

What game is this? GIS tells me it's a PC game which was really helpful, thanks Google.

Total War:Warhammer

Wish me luck guise.

TW: Warhammer

Thanks for the info m8

May Sigmar guide you.

see that ?= in the bottom left?Click it

You need some halberdiers and more heavy cavalry.

>using only basic units
user PLEASE
I BEG YOU

>thinking his outrider does anything significant against soft targets

This may not be entirely related to the thread, but I just wanted to say that I really love how everything is much better balanced in TW: Warhammer than in historical titles, even though Warhammer has drastically bigger power gaps between units and is inherently harder to balance. I've played the game for about 100 hours and haven't noticed any OP, uncounterable units that would make a certain faction imbalanced. Sure, there are units that are stronger than others in their class, but everything has a hard counter to the point where it doesn't matter how strong your units of a certain class are, they're still going down against a hard counter.

Take mounted range units for example. They are borderline game-breaking in Attilla, where you can win the entire game with just horse archers, but are extremely well balanced in Warhammer, since a simple unit of handgunners can outshoot any ranged cavalry unit due to their sheer number of guns they use, yet this same unit of handgunners lacks the mobility of cavalry.

The game is fucking amazing and I can't stop playing it, I hope they don't fuck up TWWH2.

But, user... Warhammer and Warhammer 2 are the same!

>They are borderline game-breaking in Attilla, where you can win the entire game with just horse archers

Working just like in history, unfortunately. Late Antiquity saw a marked shift to cav, such that the Romans themselves began to go into the horse archer memes. For example, late Eastern Roman armies had a shitload of Hunnic foederati, while Belisarius's bucellarii (personal bodyguard that numbered 7,000 soldiers) were heavy cavarly equipped with bow and lance.

>Spells vary from useless to devastating
>Newer units and factions are arbitrarily better
archers counter horse archers in all tw games, though it's been 2-3 years since i played vanilla Attila

Gelt is currently getting Bird riders and great swords. I'm rotating armies as needed.

THIS DOES NOT HAVE MY CONSENT

I want them to fix fucking sieges, they are godawful and unfun, I even prefer the shitty hour grinds that were in ME2 and occasionally Rome 1. I know they did it to reduce that shit in case you had like 10 castles and towns sieged at once with battles every turn, but there has to be some middle ground where a capital doesn't take an 8 minute battle.
I mean they reduced the actual towns you even fight in, that was one of the few things I liked in Rome 2 in how defending the small towns was more open than a town or something but not just a completely open space with shit in the background, out of bounds.

New player here, playing as Dorfs at the moment, how the fuck do I counter chariots and cavalry that just charges through my ranks with total impunity?

Fuck you

Extra thick lines

heavy infantry

Fuck you, sieges are boring and the city/castle/capital maps suck rotten ghoul cocks. Don't they only have a few different layouts too? It just seems fucking lazy.

Awesome, thanks.

Fvck you sieges are the best part of total war and thanks to filthy casuals like you we now have shitty minor settlements, dumbed down sieges and auto-resolve spam

Read again you stupid nigger, I'm saying sieges are even worse now. They were stagnant before but now they're like less than 10 minute battles. For normal battles, that's whatever but for sieges it's retarded. They're now limited to 1-2 walls and like 3-4 pathways to the middle which you hardly even have to reach anymore because they're so short.

Mutherfucker where did i complain about siege lenght or say that they're better now

Well it was a long and dirty battle, plus shitposting, but managed to beat up Mannfred and Heimlich Maneuver.

Mortars will mop up the skelly and zombonie reinforcements that barely shambled over.

I'm replying with support as to why I think sieges are shit now, and you were complaining about casuals dumbing down sieges, which I'm assuming you're referring to their latest game and the relevant one in the thread to which is Warhammer. It's widely fucking believed that sieges are the weakest part of TW:W, especially singleplayer. Probably the worst in the series, not counting on how individuals feel about the gunpowder era games.

It's widely known that TW:W is the most dumbed-down TW ever.

Fair enough for the campaign map, though I like the battles a lot more than Rome 2's. I maintain the idea that the dumbing down on the campaign was to serve the theme of Warhammer's actual, total constant warfare with its limited economy and buildings only ever directly or indirectly supporting the building of your military. I let it pass since it fits the theme, and ultimately puts more time in map battles but the sieges are cancer which I don't give a pass on.

You're right, it makes no sense to take things away from the battles. I disagree about the campaign map though. If you read about the fluff of WHFB and the non-battle maneuvering and counter-maneuvering that goes on, you would want to do that stuff too in this game.

I have only read a little bit of the wiki and like the first book of Gotrek and Felix, though I did play a bit of the Medieval 2 mod and all the religious systems and all the extra curricular shit like populations still worked, but I can see why the dumbed it down to let more people have easier access to later stages in the campaign, since they knew a lot of people where going to be buying this game. Not saying I prefer the campaign to be simpler, but I thought it at least supported the theme. TW campaign maps where never that complex in the first place, but they're going too far with the simplistic approach. Hope the 2nd game expands upon it, though I won't be buying it until it goes for cheap.

On the topic of Total War, how's TW Atilla now??

I wanna play a medieval theme TW, is Atilla somewhat on par with Medieval TW with mods now??

look up 1212 ad

The balance problem for the historical titles isn't on the unit side but rather the campaign one. Some units should absolutely be powerhouses and others should be dog shit but the campaign needs to be totally stripped down and then rebuilt to support that. CA should dump all of the retarded CIV shit replace it with features immediately related to the military side of the game.

Now of course this will never happen because CA are the perfect balance of incompetent and retarded but in an ideal world that is how things would go.

That topic barely has any freaking posts. Im looking for something similar to Stainless Steel, a complete overhaul.

Also why Rome 2, isnt Atilla the newest of the historical theme?? Doesnt Atilla has the same amount of stuffs?? Shit man, Im out of the loop.

>is Atilla somewhat on par with Medieval TW with mods now
Are you asking if Atilla has mods on par in quality with Medieval or are you asking if Atilla has any good mods set in the medieval period? Either way the answer is no.
Total War modding will never again be what it once was. The day of total conversion overhauls are long gone and now the best we can hope for are reskins and rebalances.

Your post confuses me. 1212AD is a complete overhaul and it is for Attila, not Rome 2.
