Super Mario World is better
cant beat watch for rolling rocks in 0x a presses
But you need to hold A to do small kicks.
Created a cancerous speed running community
>Shit Controls
>Shit Camera
>Boring as fuck after 30 mins.
Literally beatable in a day.
I love this game, but that's a real disappointment.
Shoutouts to Simpleflips
Misaligning QPUs after building up speed causing the N64 to crash when the camera follows you.
MARIOCRASH64
It's 20 years old and hasn't been topped.
A disgrace for everyone in the industry.
Hopefully SMO will do something about that.
You're playing it wrong

>run
>not long jump
This is fucking funny though.
This. I still remember when it came out and thinking all my friends were crazy for loving it.
If it wasn't a Mario game it wouldn't be remembered very fondly.
>If it wasn't a Mario game it wouldn't be remembered very fondly.
really made me think
Honestly? Some of the levels just don't cut it. Specifically Jolly Roger Bay, Dire Dire Docks, Lethal Lava Land, Snowman's Land, Rainbow Ride, that other sky level in the same area, and despite the neat gimmick I never really cared for Tick Tock Clock.
The camera sucks.
It doesn't have any flaws. That's why 3D games to this day continue to copy its camera and movement.
The water levels.
>>Shit Controls
>>Shit Camera
>and yet every 3D game since has copied its camera and controls
???
Many great games are beatable in a day.
In fact I'd say the amount of great games that are beatable in a day outweight the amount of great games that require more time to beat.
why does Sup Forums like to compare old games to new games even though Sup Forums hates new games?
Some of the levels sucked (Rainbow Ride, Tick Tock Clock, Jolly Roger Bay)
Controls don't hold up very well, and neither does the camera
>tick tock clock
>bad
A person born on Mario 64's launch day would be old enough to legally drink in the US. Their childhood nostalgia console was in the PS3/360/Wii generation. They've grown up with games so linear, so stale, so focused on holding their hand so their ADHD brains don't get bored, that when they're confronted with an actual video game that challenges them even in the slightest degree, they get mad and blame the game, pretending it's a flawed piece of garbage and that their precious cinematic borefests are true masterpieces.
This applies to modern Nintendo fans as well. The number of retards who think games like 3D World and New Super Mario Bros. are "truer to what Mario should be" is vomit inducing.
>tfw like thicc AND tall
What does this make me?
It's not Crash
You can't chain bellyflops like in Sunshine
eh, tall girls can get away with being thick (but not overweight of course).
...
Captain Ahab.
Whats wrong with the first 3 in thicc?
>tfw read it as super 64 mario for years until I heard someone on youtube say it correctly
>difficult levels suck
Although I wonder what was difficult about Jolly Roger Bay for you.
Too afraid of the snail-or-whatever-that-thing-was?
I proposed this conjecture last year, and STILL no one has poven it.
>Rainbow Ride, Tick Tock Clock, Jolly Roger Bay
>difficult
if anything in this game is considered difficult for you then you must not even play anything outside Mario
those ones in particular are just boring, especially Rainbow and Jolly Roger Bay. Just a slow diving level and a long carpet ride.
There isn't a good remaster
kek
Rainbow Ride and Tick Tock Clock are the most difficult levels in SM64.
Sure, they are still easy, but if you complain specifically about those levels in SM64, then difficulty is the only bit that sets them apart from the rest.
You are right about them being too 2D, though, yeah. I wonder if those levels were the start of the wrong way Miyamoto took with Mario the years after.
Now this is shitposting.
super mario 3 is better
Flaw: it's not as good as super mario rpg, the greatest mario and snes game of all time.
64's difficulty comes from its jankiness
Rainbow Ride
That guy tries too hard
lack of lolis
that's a great way to test your skill in reading academic math
I can vaguely follow it, it helps if you already know what it's talking about I think.
