Is there a map in game? I don't want to use the wiki because I feel like I'm cheating.
>brrrrrrraaaaaaaaap
If I switch to experimental do I have to start the game over?
Post more spooky underwater monsters.
Yeah. I could really use a world map equivalent, if only so I know which way to turn my cyclops to get in the general vicinity of places.
Can't we just make a general thread?
Looking up a map is okay in my book
...
So I keep getting random red dots flashing over parts of my cyclops. Don't seem to do anything, but I assume I'm supposed to be getting data from this?
Also, can bonesharks harm the Cyclops?
>can bonesharks harm the Cyclops?
Give them the chance and they will wreck your sub
I'm gonna make a gun mod for this game, hopefully that triggers that fagget nu-male dev.
The game already has a gun.
Goddamnit, I was hoping only leviathans could.
That's a pain. But everything
no! The game must be ruined with memeposting and shitty hourly shill threads on Sup Forums
There's a compass.
Your computer has notepad
You're minding your own business mining kyanite and this guy shows up slaps your prawns ass.
What do?
>need red alum crystals
>no idea where I found the couple I found
>tfw I'll never find the last part of the mod station
>played for 18 hours so far
>no prawn
>no "big room" or whatever its called
>no alien containment
>don't know where else to go except to inactive lava zone which I'm not ready for - and maybe explore the boneyard place since there was an alien room I couldn't enter
Go toward the grand reef
Bone Fields Caves
Deep Grand Reef
Grand Reef
Inactive Lava Zone Corridor
Lost River
Sea Treader's Path
Sea Treader's Tunnel Caves
I MUST KILL THE SEA
THE ABSOLUTE MADMAN
IT ISN'T WORTH IT user!
Circumnavigate the Aurora. I found both pieces lying around in the (relatively) shallows about midpoint on the far side.
Just come and try it boy.
>TFW reapers are about as far as the game goes for creepy deep sea monsters and then they just completely lose the plot and go UNDERSEA DRAGON LMAO
at the bottom below that island, full of survivors' bases and around the big tree near collapsed disease research station
It's certainly not like there's more than a few reptilian themed creatures other than the Sea Dragon. Ghost is best boy leviathan anyway.
>unlocked the prawn grappling hook
Holy shit, I'm underwater Spiderman now.
Fuck the Cyclops, I don't even want it anymore now that I can fly around the map with this thing and not get ganked by Bonesharks or Cave Prowlers.
Reminder that the dooks can't bully you if they're dead
what the fuck is the purpose of the cyclops.
you cannot see SHIT driving it
The sea isn't there to be creepy user. It isn't there for you. It's the sea. Which is exactly why it's so creepy.
I'm holding out judgment on the ghost until I see it in the wild, but I don't have high hopes based on pictures and sounds. If it was like a big fucking stealth eel that popped out and nabbed you that would be solid, but it sounds like it's going to grunt and swim around like everything else.
delet this, he a good boy he dookdu nuffin
Nope. carry on.
It's in a few of the darker areas like the Grand Reef, although without being the wrong spawn range like the Reaper you'll likely hear it before seeing it either way. Their surprise peekaboo levels will depend on whether or not they roar at random or only when they're chasing something, don't know I'm not currently in experimental.
With this next sentence I'm going to blow your mind.
You can drive while in external camera mode. In fact you should, all the time.
You drive on cameras, always. Especially once they integrate the fix for exiting them they forgot about with VotD.
I wish they added materials from bigger fish/monster that you'll need to build more advanced stuff by killing them.
It would also make gathering stalker teeth easier.
>drop three bits of scrap next to some stalkers
>drown in so many teeth you can build a hundred observatories
There's nothing hard about it. They drop them endlessly while playing with scrap, and go friendly once you've dropped some for them.
[Autistic Screeching]
a second one spawned then I died
You'll be hearing from dooks lawyers.
What the fuck is this stupid looking shit?
I find this game real fucking creepy but one is just cringe.
>buy an oculus rift 3 days ago
>can't FUCKING WAIT to play Subnautica in VR
>it still hasn't fucking shipped
this shit is killing me
Having played it in VR, it makes the game 100x better.
DUDE
SEAWEED
Enjoy ruining your eyesight, hope those 10 months of VR are worth it.
>spent a good amount of time fearing dooks
>Go through bloodkelp without even seeing any
>Trying to leave but one in the way
>Try to run
>I wasn't fast enough and it pulses
>It misses
Both my fear and that dook were gone within 20 seconds
Just found an entrance to the lost river that had a Sea Dragon skull in it and some sort of Precursor base. Does this river connect to the main one? (which subsequently connects to lava zone) It seems to connect to the blood kelp forest.
>find grand reef first time
>find crabsquid
>lol these arent scary at all, just weird
>"there is titanium shit down here, go find it"
>find it
>no rebreather, scouring this underwater base for stuff to scan while 2 crabsquid DOOK DOOK and spam EMP non stop on me while I'm almost drowning
>i was lost under here for ~20 minutes prior to this
dook dook
Killing things is not the games focus at all, that would be stupid to add. If you actually had to kill things it would be tedious since it's so easy with Stasis.
Why is it taking them so long to fix the scanning room?
>tfw deep sea threads are finally vidya related
Reaper and Sea Dragon Leviathan both look kinda goofy. Fortunately the Ghost Leviathan looks proper spooky.
>it's a floater roadkill capsizing the cyclops episode
What's exactly wrong with it?
Lost River has several spots of connection if that's what you mean, both Blood Kelp Zones and a spot in the Deep grand Reef lead there. The spot you're talking about is right before the Cove Tree and the facility is more story stuff.
Even with max upgrades it doesn't scan very far, and the scanned objects remain in the scanner's memory even after you've gone and picked them up or try to rescan
HEY GUY HOW YA DOIN? HOW'D YA FIT IN THAT ROOM? SOMETIMES I WISH I COULD FIT IN THAT ROOM I WONDER WHAT'S IN THERE
>scanned objects remain in the scanner's memory even after you've gone and picked them up or try to rescan
You can reset that in some way I believe, I've seen lads mention it although I can't remember how. I only use it to make my base look pretty and occasionally the cameras to find nearby stuff.
I haven't had that exact problem with it.
I'm a little bitch and I would like to know if there is a cheat or something that can make me and my vehicles invulnerable and make the monsters ignore us.
Sea Dragons are the friendliest lads. All they want is to hang out and be buddies.
>wanting to turn the game into monster hunter
fuck that noise
>thinking I wrecked my cyclops
>it's just air bubbles smacking into the hull
No. Take beacons everywhere because dads are against adding QOL improvements.
Fuck you, pacifist nigger.
I keep hoping for a mod so I can harpoon these niggers or something. ANYTHING so I can actually kill the fucks and not just run away like a little bitch boy. The shocker thing on the little sub doesn't count, either, since half the shit just ignores it.
This isn't Elite: Daggerous you know.
Download this game because of the last thread. Can anyone explain why the main character looks like a Brazilian trap?
yeah, there's actual story content
Creative mode.
It's honestly not the least bit difficult to avoid monsters. They don't generally kill you outright, make tons of noise, and will fuck off if you disable the Cyclops engine.
It's the same kind of people. There is nothing wrong with adding a map that fills in as you explore. Make it take up both chip slots.
That's pretty much how it goes. First the creature is terrifying but after enough encounters they just become annoying or uninteresting. I remember being really scared of warpers when I found them but now I just push them away with the repulsion cannon and they can't do anything
It's the future. People look weird in the future.
How do I get that mother fucking knife senpai?
Modification station. I found the fragments in the blood kelp trench wreck
Do I need the radiation suit after i've fixed the aurora?
>keep getting moonrune messages from the aliens
he's a filthy gooback
You don't need one. There's plenty of landmarks, and the biomes are distinct enough to allow easy navigation
>they just shared info with each other that I'm looking for them and they want me hunted
>could've made the lowest point pitch black with all kinds of fish that keep their distance, including huge fuckers.
>couldve made it Lovecraftian as fuck
>make it a bright lava fun zone with a smiling crocodile that fucked an octopus
The devs should be shot desu
No. Build the tinkle reclamation suit or the reinforced one after you've fixed it.
There are hundreds of games that lets you kill creatures. Why wanting guns in one of the few games that doesn't?
Shut up, dad.
>gameworld as tiny as subnautica
>can't remember a few simple directions
I think you've got more issues than the lack of a map.
Music to play when you're being chased by a Dragon in your dinky little seamoth: youtube.com
There's also a compass, just take note of the direction and distance from where you are and you're good
One shining blade, more than enough to kill anything that moves.
>anyone I dislike should
God this is why I'm glad they didn't put guns in this game
They shouldn't contribute to this toxic way of thinking.
Stillsuit should be called Inventory Full Suit.
this game creeps me the fuck out
>seaglide
Fuck yeah this is so useful
>seamoth
perfection
>cyclops
Well... this is big but useful I guess
>prawn
This feels like a step backwards mobility wise.
I've never actually built one. The ability to swim around and ignore Tigerplants is too useful for me to pass up, those things hide in the strangest places.
I do kind of wish we could just slap prawn arms on a seamoth.
Can the seamoth eventually carry the prawn? Can the cyclops?
How the fuck does the prawn get inside teh seamoth?
>I might try Northern Blood Kelp Zone entrance, haven't used it that much
>playing in experimental
>doing the James Cook and going in with both Cyclops and Prawn
>Ocean Man playing in the background, about to reach the biome
>Huh, they added an adult sized Ghost Leviathan to 320 meters depth right above the entrance and it chewed six holes into the Cyclops
>Fire everywhere, Ghost Leviathan still attacking
>Too busy to scream
>Ahead Flank, straight up
>It follows me to the depth of FUCKING 50 METERS.
>My Cyclops is at 30%, fires still blazing
>Get the extinguisher and run to engine room
>Almost die taking too much hit from fire while trying to climb on the engine to put out the last fire out of reach
>Fix the breaches and go home
Yes.
I want a ultra Seamoth that goes as deep as I want it to. Also speed upgrades, never enough fast.
